Hey everyone! I know the quick format is tough to follow step by step... You can also find the written steps here: texturelabs.org/tutorials/comic-book-fx-from-photos-in-photoshop/
The quick format is not hard to follow at all! Hard to follow videos have no voice to focus our attention...then you can't see where the action is. Hard to follow videos waste our valuable time with self promotion and hackneyed repeated attempts telling us to click the subscribe button. People subscribe when the content is real. You get right to business from start to finish. Who wouldn't subscribe to your videos as they are chocked full of great stuff! Don't stop! You freely offer your techniques that work. I earn my living with Illustrator and Photoshop. You help me become better at what I do. Thank you!
After years of following along with photoshop and illustrator tutorials I can confidently say that you sir do the best tutorials/ techniques on TH-cam... Bravo.
Just discovered your channel. I make educational for kids across the nation. I love how you get right into it, and not talk about what you had for breakfast or your trip to Home Depot. I have been in production for 30 years. Your team rules. Thanks again. Love you.
This tutorial is absolute gold. One of the best (automated) photoshop comic effects. Pro tip: Make a copy of the ps-file and replace the smart objects. Like that you can easily apply the effect on any photo quick and fast.
Love this concept of speed tutorial, makes it way easier to watch the whole process without taking much of my time and then if I need to recriate it I can come back later and pause when necessary! The effect is also pretty cool too!
@@Texturelabs Just want to chime in as a desenting voice (and 1 of your Patrons). I prefer tutorials where you take your time and explain things. Now I am newer to PS so maybe more experiences users would feel fine with speedier videos. In general though I prefer a videos that are more like your typical speed. Just wanted to let you know **some** of us have an attention span longer than a tictoc video. ;) However I also wanted to mention I appreciate that you gave step by step **written** instructions on your website. That is very much appreciated, especially with the video speed. Perhaps worth copying that to the description (or at least linking it) for those that don't know about your site. Thanks for all your awesome videos and textures!
Thank you for not wasting your viewers' time. Most tutorials strain 2 minutes of content into 12 minutes of video, and are just a chore to get through. Great effects, cleanly and efficiently presented. That's why I subscribed. Cheers :)
Years of experience, months of trial and error, days of planning, hours of recording, editing and uploading so that I could get the 2 minute shortcut to a very fun section of your vast knowledge A sub, a like and a comment is the least I can do as thank you for your work
You've no idea how long I've been looking for an awesome solution to getting this effect and you've cracked it. Thanks so much for your time and effort
Amazing... I searched for several actions on the internet to generate this effect and none left as impressive as the result obtained with this tutorial. Thank you very much.
me too other tutorials that show how to do a similar effect look too much like you just put a filter over it this looks legit like it’s actually illustrated from scratch!
Remind me to wear my seatbelt next time I go on a ride like that. I’ve been a designer for a good 5-6 years now. First time stumbling across the channel but instantly subbed. Ain’t nobody got time for the bullsh*t. 2:25s of straight value my man cheers 🍻
@@Texturelabs 🤣 Love your sense of humor. I gotta give you props, too. I'm a photographer and so many of these lessons are applicable to my PS work. Thank you!
Ran through it real quick and got decent results with a bad source image so I know it'll look awesome with a good image and more attention to detail. Always appreciate the knowledge. Thank you!
Absolutely! For sure, source image is always the x-factor... always looking for ways to accommodate less-than-ideal images... I've been using that noise reduction in camera raw like crazy lately, helps quite a bit!
You are a goddamned magician. I used to do something vaguely like this with multiple layers of the Cutout effect turned to vectors, but this version’s results are far superior.
Thanks Andrew! Nice, I've got something similar I'm working on that mixes the cutout effect in there. It's a great effect, wish it had more options... But it works great when you feed it solid blacks and whites
The fact that you know all these features makes me look like a total newbie at photoshop. Video is really helpful though, thanks a lot for this guide! Definitely subscribing!
Well, that was quick. Definitely love how you broke down each step and made them bite sizable. I absolutely love how you use the blending mode and combine the filters to create something quite unique.
WOW. I've done this several times by hand, just digital-painting on top of photos with my ipad pencil; this would have saved so many hours. Love this channel!
With photoshop, there are at least 4-5 ways to achieve the "same" output. I really appreciate how your videos find the most effective way to get the style that many digital artists seek. I'll be exploring this technique for sure!
Thank you for the lightning-fast tutorial. Straight-to-the-point & just what we need for advanced [Ps] users. I'd much rather watch these than tutorials on other channels that take sooooo long to bumble around forever for a simple effect. (We don't need another mumbler [who we can barely hear] to explain what the magic wand tool does for the thousandth time!) It's like waiting for grandpa to find something in the desk junk drawer.
I wish there was a SUPER LIKE button that I could press... AMAZING TUTORIAL braidy. I have made over 350 tutorials in life so I can say with great confidanace that this is one of the best tutorial videos I have seen in my life. LOVE IT!
Yo just saw this and glad I watched this! I like how clearly and quickly you did this. Gonna be using this from now on. Thank you for the greatest tutorial ever! Think I understood it even though it was fast, coz I have been using Photoshop for a while now, and I think if anyone feels like this is too fast, just use photoshop for some time, and come back to this. It's won't be hard to understand by then 🤗
Grateful for the tutorial and the linked transcript, I really appreciate it, so I can follow the steps without confusion. I left a like and subscribed so I don't miss any of your videos.

all good, playback speed to 0.5 and all is fine.
Awesome man its a huge shame that creators like yourself have to do fast content for there algorithm but this was good thanks my friend!
Usaly it is, but you buddy did a proper job here, it fine as it is. Tnx man for a sweet tutorial :*

Totally agree!
I Couldn’t agree more… this is clearly the most outstanding tutorial out there…. Thanks TL! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I think this one 3 minute tutorial alone has taught me 12 new tricks and/or shortcuts I had no idea about. Bravo!
The speed of this tutorial is ludicrous.
Jake, yoooooo! Would have worked well with one of those crazy faces from your thumbnails...
In all my years of learning graphic work on youtube this has got to be the most no BS tutorial ever!
Pro tutorials for pro users. Gold. No wasted time, no schlock, no pandering. We need this kind of presentation thrown in the mix. Thanks!!
Indeed. this one was too fast for me

😂the talk about your trip part got me. TH-cam videos need to get the train moving. Tutorials should remain tutorials and vlogs need to remain vlogs..
Dude this tutorial was next-level. No filler, all killer. You are amazing bro!
This video is fast paced so I slowed it down so not to miss anything. Its amazing how much Brady sounds like a stoner at 50% playback speed 🌿🌿🌿😉
There are loads of TH-cam tutorials on how to make this "Comic Book Effect". But this is by far the best one I have come across. Awesome!

OMG. Love the fast format editing! This is how all tutorials should be edited.
Um, no, it isn't how ALL tutorials should be edited.
No bull at all. He just gave the tutorial like it was supposed to be all the time. No asking for likes , subscription and stuff. Did it all.
