    Loved this, thank you for always sharing. I lost both my elderly dogs in the last two years and am getting another dog in the next few weeks. So I’ve been binge watching your videos for refreshers and also just gaining knowledge I didn’t know the first time around. I also, just placed a raw bistro order. Thank you thank you thank you! You truly are a gem. 🙏🏻❤️

    For the cue "stay" (for example), my dog normally does well when we're alone at home. But once there're other people or especially when we're outside, it hardly works 😓 (She does get excited easily and is so determined. She's an almost 2yo Great Dane)
    Could you please give me an advice, Rachel? 🙏
    Ps. I love you & your channel. You have such great advices and techniques. Very thankful😊

    Hello. I just watch the TH-cam you did with Dr. Katie Woodley. I can’t seem to post on that TH-cam but it was phenomenal and I didn’t realize how educated you were on dog nutrition also
    So I have a dog that has had some stomach issues and I’m changing the food to another protein source. Unfortunately it’s going to be kibble at this time. Them over to Aurora in the future but I do have a question.
    She said a digestive enzyme would be a good start, but I think she said without the probiotics I have one that has probiotics and pre-biotics and digestive enzymes. Would you recommend just a digestive enzyme to start?
    Thank you.

    Hi Rachel my family and I just adopted a new puppy today (March 4th) she hasn't come out of her crate and when I try to pet her she growls or yelps very loud. She isn't hurt or anything. She also did this upon introduction when I first met her when I went to pet her she yelped incredibly loud and wanted nothing to do with me. Is she acting like this because it's a new environment and she needs to adjust?

    I have a serius question, how does this work for short dogs and puppies? I have three Pocket Bullys that are basically rescues due to a situation. Quite frankly, they are too short for me to do this with and reward. Its my number one problem atm. I have to get down and sit Indian style or bend over and touch my toes basically to reward and I'm not fast enough.

    do you know any exercises for picking things up from the floor? I have a 9 month old puppy and he picks everything up and eats it, like literally swallows it and it can be dangerous and I'm kinda desperate

  • @chiron591
    @chiron591 ปีที่แล้ว

    My puppy, a yorkie. Stops doing anything as soon as the treats are gone. And if it's not a high end treat forget it. He was doing good but now realizes that treats mean doing something, and if decides that he doesn't want to train he just runs away. I only train him for a minute or two, so as to get him a win all the time. Its like hes gone completely backwards. When I call his name he looks to see if I got treats, no treats forget it. Got a treat well then comes, but runs away as soon as he gets it. Wish more trainers used very small dogs, as training tiny yorkies is very hard. Easy when your dog height is at your knees rather than your ankle.

    • @nicoler4597
      @nicoler4597 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My puppy was the same way. What I started doing is not showing the treat. For example it would be behind my back. Then I would eventually only give her a treat every other time, then randomly. So she does what I ask because she might get a treat. But it helped for me to not have them where she could see them and eventually she started doing it “for nothing” and the treat was a surprise more so. Even though she probably smelled it

    Maybe, this is just me but 10 mins a day of doing simple stuff like this with my 1 yrd old mini aussie does nothing 😂. Hes got energy for days. Its been bad weather for a while here in texas and I know being inside with barely anything to do is getting to him...the only thing that kind of wears him out slightly is fetch in an open space at the dog park or letting him roam freely/hikes with my other dog outside...
    I dont think this goes very far for high energy breeds like my boy gizmo 😅.
    Good video though :)

    • @RachelFusaro
      @RachelFusaro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh absolutely, every dog is different. Extreme working/active dogs might need more. But i bet if you incorporated 10 minutes of mentally stimulating training WITH fetch, your dog would tire quicker (and be more satisfied). Similar to this! th-cam.com/video/Yi6kW3gTzks/w-d-xo.html
      And as my dogs get advanced, so do the training cues we work on. Which, for even a hyper active dog, can tire them when the challenges are greater.
      let me know how it goes!!

    My 6 month old male boxer puppy will grab the leash and start playing tug AND he jumps and lunges as me. He doesn’t stop. If I treat him to get his attention away from being a complete jerk, aren’t I reinforcing his jerk behavior?

    All of your instructions deal with rewarding your dog with treats. I have purchased the treats you show here and many others. My dog refuses treats. She won't eat anything unless it's in her dog bowl. She is shy and doesn't respond to praise yet. 🤔
