- Welcome to our first Frostgrave battle report! We begin our Frostgrave campaign with Akashara the Witch and Namira the Illusionist. These wizards will attempt to gain some magical power from a stone that has been discovered in the small swamp town of Toadbarrow.

Great battle report. These summarised format is quite much better than 2+ hours of recording the game, very much straightforward. I'll subscribe.
Really appreciate it. I feel like audiences don’t have the time for 2+ hour reports. Just trying to give folks a second option.

At 04:25 when Bailey takes the time to FILP her barbarian end over end as he leaps across the rock was probably the best part of this battle report! Gaming with flourish makes my day.

An absolute crime there's no frostgrave cowboys box. Top tier report!
also, i really recommend giving your squad members Names and quickly recording big achievements. can create cute little stories for the smaller troops this way if they survive long enough. or dramatic deaths, etc.
When group activating , everyone has to do there first action (in any order) then all there 2nd actions. cant cast spell with wizard,move then go to soldiers in group. would be cast spell then each soldier takes an action/move , then do 2nd actions. Great first bat rep tho :)

Except for the corpses of all the folks who died, including the thug and barbarian who killed each other. Their corpses, evidently, were left where they fell. Presumably, the trolls heard that scuffling or smelled the blood, and scavenged the remains.
The real questions is whether they settled the matter of who got the corpses amiably, or if they fought over it. But I think there's enough bodies for both.
EDIT: Didn't wait until the end of the video, where it's revealed the Barbarian survived. (We can assume the thug died, because no one cared). So unless they found the other bodies lying around, those trolls definitely threw down over the body of the thug.
Hahaha what a nicely put, in depth description of how these once poor trolls are now not so poor!

Great report! Not sure if I missed it and it's intentional, but you may have calculated the spell casting difficulties incorrectly! Aligned schools are at +2 difficulty, and neutral schools are +4 difficulty! (pages 23 and 19, 2nd edition rulebook).
I end up did doing them correctly (at least 95% positive). The numbers in the bottom corner of the spell that shows up on screen is the "base" spell cost from the book. Honestly, I should probably go through and delete those numbers due to so many wizard's casting spells at different values. Hmmm, that's gonna be a lot of work.
This was such a fun battlereport, can't wait for the rest of the campaign. Also love the use of a giant amethyst as terrain!!

there was an article about how swingy d20's are and how frostgrave could be played with only a tiny bit less chaos and much more fun by using 1d8 + 1d10 instead. making fails a 2 and crits an 18

More Bat-Rep content makers need to take a page out of your book. Brilliant. Fast and to the point. New players watching this will get a fairly good grasp of the game and it's mechanics, and at 22 minutes, easily watchable without being bored stupid.

Excellent work you two. Battle Reports on an absolutely high level! Frostgrave man... Frostgrave. Now it begins: Watching your Chapter One with the Well of Dreams and Sorrows reminds me of our adventure with the same name and all the 'shit' that happened. And that's one of the greatest features and the awesomeness of this game. Same chapters different stories. Like good movies... Excitement for Chapter Two commences.

Really great battle report! The filming is done well, the narration is clear and the editing really brings it all together. I’m already looking forward to the rest of the campaign! Frostgrave seems like a very fun and interesting game, and certainly less intimidating looking than anything to do with warhammer, maybe even the right game to use to try to rope some of my non-wargaming friends into the hobby.
I would 100% agree. I think Frostgrave is perfect for the first time tabletop gamer. Really loving the game so far.

Great battle report! Your style made the game flow smoothly and quickly and even kept my daughter’s attention - and she’s never shown any interest in Frostgrave. The way you did the video is making me rethink the way I shoot my battle videos.
One rule I’ll point out in Bailey’s favor is Telekinesis can’t target the central treasure until after it has been picked up (and then dropped).

@@DiceChatter I’ve found the Frostgrave community to be really forgiving and helpful when it comes to rules stuff. Seems like everybody wants to see fellow players just having a fun time with the game. And for all the guys whose girlfriends/wives don’t typically game with us, I need to make sure Bailey has every opportunity to beat you. 😂

I just played my first game of Frostgrave and started with this scenario. Where is the rule about a creature showing up when you pick up a treasure? I didn’t notice it in my book.
Hey Chris! Check out pg. 176 in the main FG 2nd ed. book. Its an optional rule, but a good one!
Namira wouldn't be able to move after Teleporting right? Magical movement counts as all movement.
Like, I could cast push on an archer and move him forward, but the archer couldn't move after. He could shoot, but because he was magically moved, he wouldn't have any other options.
Also, I forget when, but you had an archer shoot and move 6. If Movement is your first action then it's 6". Your 2nd action is always half of your movement.
You are correct Mike. Still learning some of the game as we play. We will definitely get better as we get more games and reps in!

My wife and I played through Ice Storm and 4 of the treasures spawned big. 3 Giants and a Worm. We only got off with a treasure each.
