Dear Coach Lee. Thank you for so many useful tips. I have watched many of your videos and I am pleased to say my skills and performance have improved a lot with your help. Great Job!
Thank you very much for your kind comment and I am very pleased to know. Lee
I love your channel so much . There's so much enthusiasm for badminton when you teach. Where do you coach? I would love to train under you. Also, you actually try to find out why your students make mistakes instead of scolding them which is what my coach always does to me. It just makes badminton unenjoyable .
I am most pleased to know and thank you very much for posting your comment. I am in Markham in Canada.
I am sure your coach have a lot of good teaching skills and ability try to listen him and look for positive things from him please. Lee
Too good skill you have sir .Thank you for correction we will definitely follow the steps😃😃
To be honest, I don't know the way I move now when I think of it but I'll remember this. Recently I taught my little cousin sisters to play badminton a little, and they loved it, this should be very helpful for us all, thank you very much! :)
You are most welcome. Yes more ladies and girls are doing this toes landing.
It may be good to watch her to see if she is doing it too. Lee
Take videos while you play. You will see many of your mistakes. I thought my footwork was adequate (I have no formal training), but after watching my own videos, I realized my whole game is terrible. But I am determined to be better. My goal is to be a B level player, maybe low B player.
Yes looking at your own video is a very helpful way to improve your level.
I am sure you will reach that level just keep your good quality training going. Lee
very helpful for beginners and intermediate players
This is so helpful. Excellent teaching. Thank you very much for all these great advices and for all of these Videos Sir.
You are most welcome and thank you very much for your kind comment. Lee

Very good advice and funny ☺ Love it
hello sir, wishes from India
I've been following your videos and it has made a great impact on my games, thanks a lot and keep inspiring!
Thank you very much for your kind comment. I am most pleased to know. Lee
Hi Coach Lee, love your videos. For this one, I think it comes from people who are used to playing on dusty or slippery courts and do not want to commit fully to the lunge movement (heel-toe motion) as if the surface is slippery this can cause severe injury. However with toe-heel it is easy to pull out of the motion if the foot slips, so reducing risk of injury. Just my thought as to why people do it even though it is incorrect (they may not even know why they do it but subconsciously I think the reason is to reduce risk of injury from slipping). Many thanks for your videos.
Thank you for your comment on why people do the way. It makes good sense.
Lee
I have sliped a few times while landing with my heel first, i just do a big gap and that's all. I'm pretty sure if you slip while landing with your toe first, you will destroy your ankle (i won't try though ^^). So I'm not sure it reduces the injury risk, however that might really be what these people are thinking.
I love all your videos, but the three new ones you just uploaded, I only get the sound in my left headset. The other ones from 8 months ago were perfect. I dont have problems with any other videos on youtube
Can you see the clips? All of them you only hear on your left side?
same here
I dont, but it feels like the sound in my left ear is significantly higher than in my right one.
ANYWAY Thank you so mouch M Lee for all those videos, I have been playing badminton for fun the last 2 years (without coach) but I want to improve, your channel is a gold mine !
Ps: nice weight loss!
Thank you very much for mentioning about my weight loss.
I have changed my camera and the connection wire I have used between my mic and camera may cause the problem. It is very good to know now so I can fix the problem. Only problem is that there will be about 7 more clips in this way as all are done same time. Sorry about it. Lee
It is not a problem to be honnest, can't wait to watch the following clips! Thank you for the good work.
oh im doing it without realising until seeing this video. thanks you so much.
You are most welcome and I hope it works for you. Lee

Hi.. coach Lee.. I love all u r videos... As I was watching this clip I got a doubt. so when you do the step 1 do you land on your toes or heels... I mean I do the step one flat or on toes... because in this clip you said when you doing step one only you will land on your toes.. the step one is on heels or toes or both...pls reply Sir.. Take bow from one of u r distant student Sir.. thank u..

lol he's so intense, my type of coach. if i was his student id listen for sure.
Thank you for your kind comment. Lee
Sir, I am from India, been watching your videos and truly feel that they have helped us a lot. We are not blessed with a proper coach like you and have a visiting Coach twice a week. unfortunately I have been fighting injuries for almost 4 months now. Firstly I have developed Achilles Tendonitis and now Tennis Elbow. Experts are saying it will heal in time but my concern is that it can reoccur. I sincerely request you to kindly make a video to guide us and also show us how to avoid and minimise injuries. We all will be deeply obliged.
Thank you for your kind comment. I definatly plan to make clips on the topics you mentioned. Let me plan it and I shall put this to my recording list. Thank you very much for asking. Lee
Hi Prashant, I also have elbow tendinitis, and for the past 18 years (started from weight training, also I am an engineer, so I also spend a lot of time on computer). You can search TH-cam videos for "trigger point therapy elbow tendinitis". The techniques helped me much more than doctors. It is easy to do and almost free.
Oh, yeah i step toe down exactly like that on some stroke. It started from fear of impact force on the knee. I run mid foot and knowing that heel landing (in running) can ruin the knee so i do the same (toe down) naturally when i play badminton without realizing that it's pretty safe in badminton as impact force is not as high as when running given that we wear decent shoes.
Now, let me try to get rid of this bad habits.
I am very please to know that you can see my point and I very much hope it works for you in many ways. Lee
It's very helpful :)
I'm really like your video!!
I am very pleased to know and thank you. Lee
Sir i like your vedios it is help full in my game
Nice video! And nice legs!
but my coach told me to land on toe so that u can recover better, but I'm listening to you Lee sir
You can try both ways by your self and feel it which one suit you better. You would better to choose one with good reason. Thanks. Lee
Thank you so much this helped a lot 😭❤️
Thank you very much for this very nice clip. But unfortunately, I watched this too late. I got injury at my right ankle due to bad landing three weeks ago :( . Anyway, I will try to correct it from now on. Tar.
love ur videos...than u coach Lee....Greetings from India !!
Thank you very much. Lee
Thank you so much for this
I had that bad habit =C But i did it subconsciously because i used to be a sprinter and was learning badminton.
ok Mr. Lee terimakasih. From Indonesian
You are most welcome. Thank you too. Lee
hello coach, i would like to know what is the good grip for smash defense. And thank you for all you're videos.
You should have neutral grip for it as you do not have time to change the grip when you defense smash.
Lee
sorry my question was not about the position of the grip but how to put is hand on the grip when you're opponent smash (you don't made a videos about it)
sorry I had not seen your videos posted 4 years ago: "badminton right grip"
I hope you like it. Lee
That walk was really funny.
Thanks. Lee
U r Right Li , now i ll correct my mistake ,😢
Good luck. Lee
hi coach I am ok now came xpertise level but now need to get ready for next level players coach.
That is good to know. Need to train harder to be ready for it. Lee
Beautiful shoes!
Thanks. Lee
Great video Coache Lee, u made me laugh when you said "60% of the playerse I see :D" I was part of them.
Great coaching lesson again. U are great ! Are u the coach of the best player of world ? Lee chong wei ? :D
Thank you very much for your kind comment. No I am the coach but I do coach all levels as who ever play badminton and love it
regardless their levels I like to teach. Lee
Hello Sir, I think the toe lifts in the air just because non-racket foot is not properly used during footwork & player tries to stretch the racket foot too much towards shuttle. While trying to stretch towards shuttle, player forgets the condition that, "toe & knee should be in straight alignment". While stretching, keeping the toe fingers fixed to the ground and bending the knee towards the shuttle, heel naturally rises up. It is most common because it gives illusion that we are getting more reach towards shuttle. Pls correct me if my analysis is wrong.
Yes you are spot on. Lee
1000 like sir....
The video is very useful
May I ask how to play doubles better like the which player should be front and back? Or the stronger player should be playing at the front or the back?
Thank u, I play doubles thats why
The best way is be at the net or back as situation changes.
But some players feel mre conferrable at the net and some feel same at the back. Even the one who feel like to stay at the net, sometime he has to go to te back. So two players must learn the basic doubles positioning. Stronger player should be at the back more often so he can choose the shots to remain attacking. He has wider area to cover (staying at the back covers 70% of court) Lee
+Coaching Badminton thank u
You are very welcome. Lee
Thank you
You are most welcome. Lee
Damn, those legs.
Is the racket you are holding the Li Ning N90? :) just curious
No it is my own named racket. Lee
What do you mean? do you have your own brand?
I used to have but not now. The racket I used was called LJB racket made by Yehlex (company in UK) It is not available any more now. Lee
It's really funny demo when wailing on toes
I think so too. Lee
Sir, can u please tell that.. in that forehand or backhand net shot positon... which direction our left angle should face ? Should it face towards the same direction of shuttle or towards left ?
I am very sorry not not able to understand your question. If you do not mind would you please explain bit more. Lee
Coach lee i like ur videos very much but i have a question that when we should use our toes while moving. From Harsh
Thank you and I shall make clip for your question before long. Lee
So sir are you going to make a clip?
Sir pls make a video on the footwork of Lee Chong Wei
Hi Coach, I am trying to land on heel when lunging to return good drop at net from opponent. Sometimes, my momentum overcomes my landing, so I feel very unstable. How should I perform a deep lunge?
I understand the problem you are mentioning. To make it better, you must build strength on your legs so your leg can hold your weight and balance.
Hope its a help. Lee
thanks
You are most welcome. Lee
but for the forehand back in the court is it also bad?? I see Lee Chon Wei doing it
No I am only talking about side and net areas. There are some areas and some actions, you must not land on your hill. Sorry that I have not made it clear. Lee
+Coaching Badminton dont worry, you have been clear its just that i come with some "random" questions sometimes.
In this case is because i have an injury with this "toe landing" and im curious to know if im doing something wrong.
Anyway thanks for replaying me, its good to see you back
Thank you very much for your warm welcome. I am pleased to know that I have been clear. Lee
LCW will do what he wants :)
I think Coach Lee is mostly talking about when you need to move backwards/reverse side, or some combination of back+side to your proper position. Obviously when playing a shot from the back, most of the time, you will want to land on ball of your left foot (if you are a right handed player, and ball of right foot if left handed player).
you have taken to public, skills hitherto confined to highest level of badminton coaching .
Thank you very much for your kind comment. Lee
Nice legs :)
I want you to be my coach I guess ur strick in court but good outside. :)
Thank you and you know me very well. Lee
Omg thank you for ur tutorial I am slowly applying it when playing because im a beginner. :)
I very much you get better with my clips. Lee
Thank you for these free videos, but I disagree with this. The reason why many people land on their toes is because it is the most natural way for them. I get much for control and agility by landed on my toes, rather than my heel.
Sure Fred, everyone is different and I respect your prepared way.
Thank you for posting your comment. Lee
Just want to comment that landing on heels is also to protect your knees. In China we are also taught to land on our heels when we reach out for net shots too. Yes I do agree it initially doesn't feel natural, but landing on heels does help you recover your position faster due to better balance.
Yes I agree with you. You may use toes landing when shuttlecock is not too far and near your body but deep and away shuttlecock, heel may be better.
Thank you for your input. Lee
how to dive??please help
That one I do not really know about it. My worry is that if you learn to dive, you may use it too much.
It may be better to train how to use your steps to reach the shuttlecocks insated of dive. Yes I do know sometime you have to dive
but the best way is to play with out it. Lee
+Coaching Badminton Hi coach, I think the commenter wants to look like Superman. 😂
