Agreed! Worth the investment of time to make sure I got what I wanted, and they ARE one of the best AIWB options out there. But damn you gotta do your own research.
Saw on another channel..... you can buy double adhesive velcro straps. Put one on holster and a strip on each of the wedges allowing u to switch between them.
As far as the wedges being single use, you can just attach them temporarily with a little bit of scotch tape just to see how each of them fits for a few minutes of walking around and sitting, but not for a full day of carry, because I don’t that scotch tape will keep the wedges attached for a full day. But you can use scotch tape to try each of them for a few minutes and then once you pick the one you want, then attach it with the permanent adhesive that comes on the wedges.
Use command strips on the back of the peel away strip while you’re figuring out your size. Once you decide, peel the factory strip off and make it permanent.
I've been making my own wedges using a yoga block and velcro. Materials are under $10 at WalMart and I can make 6-8 wedges from the block. My biggest takeaway has been to make it bigger than I think I'll need, because I can always trim it down. Next, I think of my belt as the fulcrum of a lever with my holster being the lever. I don't want any of the wedge to be at or above the belt line. I'm sure these are great, but I'm so used to making my own that I would probably go that route. If these were made with the hooks of velcro facing out, I might consider them.
That's genius. We would have never thought of that. Are the yoga blocks the firm foam, or do they squish down a little bit. And yeah these don't come with velcro, but you could attach some if you'd like!
Thanks for the help brother. Im having a really hard time finding a holster that helps reduce printing. I saw these and this video is a great explanation. Well done.
Excellent question BigMo. We have not experienced any issues with the foam wedges slowing down the draw or compromising our grip. If we started to have those issues, we'd be ripping these foamies off.
In regards to the issue with wedges being single use, attaching hook side adhesive Velcro to the wedges and loop side to the holster makes them much easier to take on and put off and prevent them from being single use.
The foam wedges I'm currently using on my Vedder light tuck AIWB holster have Velcro on the back that adheres to Velcro I J B welded to the the holster. These wedges are easy to change, there's no gluey mess to remove, and they're solidly affixed to the holster. Vinyl on Tier 1 wedge surface facing your clothing is a good idea as the wedges I'm using can hang up on my clothing when putting my holster on with my pants buttoned. Questions: How long do the Tier 1 wedges retain their shape when the holster is used everyday? 2. Does heat effect the adhesive's ability to hold the wedge in place?
Hey Deadeye 454! To answer your questions, the Tier 1 wedges retain their shape well with exception of smooshing down about a quarter of an inch after a few weeks of use. So take that into account in choosing a wedge size. And to answer your question about how heat affects the adhesive on the wedges: we haven't noticed any issues with day-to-day heat being a problem on the wedges. The adhesive on the wedges stay put!
I just put a wedge on my Sidecar 2.0. It feels a lot more comfortable while sitting. I was able to save the other wedges by putting paper back on the wedge. When a get my G45, I’ll put one of the bigger wedges on.
@@RangeDay I just put a small wedge on top the other small wedge, after wiping it down with alcohol wipes. It’s holding together, added a lot more padding for comfort.
Have you run into any problems with these wedges absorbing sweat over time? I live in Texas, and I do hard manual labor pretty frequently, and I'm wearing an AGIS elite pretty much all the time. I'm running a Trijicon RMR on my gen 5 Glock 19 MOS, and the top corner of the RMR, the corner of the spare magazine, as well as the corner of the magazine that's in the gun print on occasion. I'm thinking about getting the wedge sizing pack to fix the rare printing issue, as well as add some comfort in the area below the belly button, and above the crotch. I just don't want the wedge to absorb sweat, and get all yucky over time.
We haven't had the issue with them absorbing sweat like a sponge, but they will hold some moisture if you really get a sweat on. Totally understand the printing and comfort with hard labor. The wedges will definitely help make it a little more comfortable.
Our pleasure Joe Tittiger! When some of us were looking into these holsters and wedge packs we had some basic questions on sizing and what not. Hope we helped! Thanks for the comment!
Glad I found you. I had an idea on the wedge concept but wanted that extra bit of confirmation. In all honesty I’ve got a knock off Tier1 from Etsy, less money and no waiting
Glad we could help! The wedge type products can be adapted from a multitude of different items, so there are many options to choose from. Good to hear that you have another option that works.
Yes! We’ve messed with it a little, but the adhesive we’ve found on some Velcro strips want to peel off the holster. Don’t want to superglue it down, but may find some better, industrial strips. Great question Rich! 👊🏼😎
I also bought the pack. Perhaps installing double sided tape on the backing as to prevent using up the actual pad could help someone. I might try that, just for fitting. Once I know which side I want I can remove the backing.
This is a very easy fix on tier one all they gotta do is add adhesive hook and loop to the back of the holster, and then to the back of each wedge. That way you can manipulate exactly where you want it.
Absolutely. We haven’t messed with the Velcro yet but we have some to experiment with. Some of the viewers have used the Velcro to fix their wedges to and switch them out!
I got the wedges bc I’m printing. They help but damn they’re painful! Having the flat surface of the holster is much more comfortable than a slim wedge pushing in at a single point. Any advice on fixing this?
Hi David, you could try the Wide style wedges from T1C also. The wider footprint definitely helps with the pressure points if that’s an issue, but maybe go a size smaller on the thickness. I’ve also heard that some people use gel shoe inserts for the same effect.
It’s not easy at all. The adhesive really sticks to the kydex and won’t come off, even with a generous amount of force. If you want to remove it later, you may be able to use a low heat on a hair dryer and finish it with some goo-be-gone. Just not high heat to damage the holster.
We carry everyday and most of us have these on our IWB holsters. These wedges have held up well and we haven’t had to change any of them out due to durability issues. Stay posted to our channel for a full review in the future 😎
I noticed you're using the Glock 43 with an extended +2 magazine. I'm considering buying the same holster that you reviewed for the Glock 43 with the same extended magazine. Could you tell me whether or not you selected the "extended spare magazine" option when buying the holster from T1C? Thanks!
This is actually one for the Glock 19, but it would still be an awesome one for the 43. We did go with the extended Mag option on this! The top of the extended mag will sit flush with the top of the gun that way!
I guess you could use rubber cement when trying different size wedges. When you find the best fit the rubber cement is easily removed. Then just attach it after with the right size.
Im 5’7 175-180 little gut ! Gonna get back to 170 lbs soon i hope run VP9 any suggestion? Med, large or xtra large wedge? Guess may should just order pack or 2 lg n 2 xl? Thoughts?
Based on that, we would probably go for the Large or X-Large. However you can’t go wrong with getting the pack and trying them out. You may prefer less padding for a wedge and go with the Medium. Great question!
@@jasonpate6283 if Tier 1 doesn’t make one for VP9, check out TRex Arms. They definitely make an appendix holster, called the sidecar, for the VP9. And don’t if you get a light compatible holster, you can only carry your handgun in the holster as long as it has the light on the handgun. Those type of holsters grab on the light for retention.
@@TheTyphoon365 We will take a look at that particular velcro! We want it to be heavy duty. May have to do this for our next holster setup. Thanks for the suggestion!
I have same holster except with the aplc and I did try wedges but with holster in pants already enough why would you want it fater I hste the wedges the gun fits so much nicer with no wedge.

Hey Kelby Brown! You absolutely could do that! Sometimes the wedges want to slide around when you are trying to fit them that way, but there is no reason you can't get a good idea for which wedge to use. Great question.
So I’m about to buy a Tier 1 Axis Elite holster and the last option is for me to add a wedge sizing pack. However, it gives two options, standard or wide. Like you mentioned, their site isn’t very helpful in providing enough of a description for me to make an informed decision. In your video, I’m assuming those wedges are standard. It also appears to barely fit right due to the various contours in the Kydex. So I’m wondering if the wide would be a bad idea. But then I wonder if wide is the way to go since I’ll have a mounted light which might make that wedge placement area wider. The pistol is a Shadow Systems MR920, so basically the size of a G19. Thoughts?
The ones in the video are standard! We haven't gotten our hands on the wide ones. They weren't an option when we first got ours. However, more surface area of the wedge will equal more comfort while wearing the holster. Looking at a few pictures of the wide option, it looks like you will have plenty of room with the light compatible holster. We don't have any technical specs from T1 though, so we don't have any measurements. We may buy some of the wide ones because it looks even more comfy. Hope that helps!
Stick the sticky part of the wedge on to a pice of good quality Velcro (with sticky back). The other part of Velcro should go to the holster. Now you can change your wedge size tell your hearts content.
As much as i like this company, their user experience is really lacking on their website. They give us too many options for belt clips, extended spare magazines, wedge,s etc without showing examples and why the users might want to opt for certain options. They should pay you honestly as you do better in explaining. To solve the one-time use Wedge, I guess you can cut the velcro sticker and stick it to the holster and the wedge for reusability.
Hey Kirk Goss! While this was more of a sizing guide for the foam wedges, we definitely should have put some clips in this video demonstrating the concealment this holster and foam wedges offer. At the main end of the video we have a few clips on the end screen of Trevor and Chandler using their appendix holsters with the wedges on, but it's not pointed out. You can see some other footage featuring appendix holsters with the foam wedges in our most recent Range Highlights video, but it is not a concealed carry dedicated video. Our apologies Kirk Goss!
We haven’t had any issues with the retention. That might be something to let T1 know because they may have made it too snug or put the wrong hardware on. Hope you get it sorted out!
@@RangeDay so I found out with the light bearing holsters they don’t use the typical retention, they use friction. So seems to me there actually no way to loosen or tighten the retention. Love the holster but absolutely not a fan of that style of retention.
You’re right. It’s friction on the light and not the trigger guard! Check out our video that’s releasing later today: it’s a T1C Light Bearing Holster.
Here is what you can do to try the wedge...pick the one you want to try and tape is on the back of your holster using painters tape and wear it for a day. If it doesn't fit try another one. when you find the one you want install it permanently......simple right enjoy
That's why I get light with the aplc it widens it perfectly the wedge even the small just made it so uncomfortable and phat in my pants hated it so I like free balling baby 👶😎😜
Do mention that they do not and I repeat do not have any return policy whatsoever. If you like it then good for you and if by any chance you don’t like the product then you are stuck!!! You can then store it in your closet and let it collect dust!
These are definitely dependent on an individual’s body type and carry style. We’re fans here on the channel of the wedges but it’s important to go with what’s just right for you!
Tier one needs to have better descriptions for all their options, had to watch 40 TH-cam videos to order one holster. Thanks for this one!

They should pay you honestly as you do better in explaining. To solve the one-time use Wedge, I guess you can cut the velcro sticker and stick it to the holster and the wedge for reusability.
We wouldn’t turn down the offer! Sometimes it’s better to keep things as simple as possible, but we do love our details.
Thanks for the comment!
I agree
Mozo GW?
Why not put the holster on so viewers can see how it concealed???
Hey Kirk Goss! While this was more of a sizing guide for the foam wedges, we definitely should have put some clips in this video demonstrating the concealment this holster and foam wedges offer.
At the main end of the video we have a few clips on the end screen of Trevor and Chandler using their appendix holsters with the wedges on, but it's not pointed out.
You can see some other footage featuring appendix holsters with the foam wedges in our most recent Range Highlights video, but it is not a concealed carry dedicated video.
Our apologies Kirk Goss!
I can’t even get mine to fit, without the wedges.
Is anyone’s retention ridiculously tight? I can’t loosen it anymore or the dam screws will fall out smh
I use Velcro
Have you had any issues with the Velcro? 😎
Here is what you can do to try the wedge...pick the one you want to try and tape is on the back of your holster using painters tape and wear it for a day. If it doesn't fit try another one. when you find the one you want install it permanently......simple right enjoy
thank you
You're welcome!

3m strips
Those would definitely be secure enough with the 3M strips. Good thought Whiskey Echo.
I hate the wedge love the holster though.
It’s a great holster! 😎
That's why I get light with the aplc it widens it perfectly the wedge even the small just made it so uncomfortable and phat in my pants hated it so I like free balling baby 👶😎😜
Haha you like what you like! Not everyone at Range Day uses them! Some prefer it without 😎
Punt Velcro on them
That’s definitely a solution as well!
Velcro
We are looking into the velcro option and playing around with it right now! Thanks for the suggestion Kyle Carrier!
Do mention that they do not and I repeat do not have any return policy whatsoever. If you like it then good for you and if by any chance you don’t like the product then you are stuck!!! You can then store it in your closet and let it collect dust!
It is unfortunate but the wedges are pretty cheap and basically unusable anywhere else after you install them.
Velcro is your friend.
That it is
velcro
Absolutely. We’ve been trying to mess with it, just gotta find strong enough adhesive for the Velcro. Good thought J B!
background music is noise
I'm surprised to see how many people use these. They are murder on my pelvic bone. Not for me G.
These are definitely dependent on an individual’s body type and carry style. We’re fans here on the channel of the wedges but it’s important to go with what’s just right for you!
$17 for four foam wedge pads? What a joke.
Looks like the pricing has went up on these
Zzzzzzzzzzzz 😴
