  • In this week's video, Trevor goes through his review of the Wide concealment wedge from Tier One Concealed, and also shares some sizing considerations to keep in mind if you feel like ordering a wedge for your setup. Concealment wedges are a fantastic way to help boost the comfort and concealment of your EDC rig, and we are particularly fond of using them on our appendix holsters. The Wide Wedge from Tier One Concealed is another great offering, and is especially useful on larger holster setups that can take advantage of a larger wedge area. We hope you enjoy the video and thank you for watching!

    I recommend installing Velcro to the back of the holster and wedges so that you can see what size is most comfortable.

    Thanks for the video. I have a Crossbreed Reckoning holster. Do you think these wedges would be ok with a leather backing instead of kydex? I want the wedge more to help with concealment, not necessarily for comfort.

    I know this is a video about the wedges, but I just checked Tier1 site to order a axis elite holster for my full size Walther PDP and I also have an Inforce Wild 2 but their drop down list doesn’t have an option for the Inforce anymore. Bummer! I already have an Axis Elite for my 5 inch PDP but they only offer it for the 4.5 inch PDP. It sticks out a half inch past the bottom of the holster, which is no big deal to me because the wedge keeps the end of the slide off of my skin. If it didn’t during high rojnd count training days, that would be a REAL hot spot. 😳

    I just ordered the large wide size for a Vedder light tuck that fits a CZ P07. I was torn between the wide and regular. Will they form and stick to slight slopes? If not I'm hoping an razer knife can trim them a bit? Guess I'll find out in a couple of days....

    • @RangeDay

      You shouldn’t have a problem Scott, they’ll mold a good bit for what you’ll need.

    Thanks for reviewing these.
    I’m trying to decide on the regular width and wide width and what size. The sample pack seems to be somewhat wasteful
    Do you use the wedge on both the holster and mag carrier?
    Do you think the wedge would also work on a different holster?
    Thanks in advance

      @coledavidson1315 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use the large original wedge on my tier1 and only use one wedge on the holster. You could technically put one on the mag holster but it doesn't "dig" as much as the holster, so you probably won't find that necessary.
      As far as using on different holsters, as long as it is kydex or something similar it should stick just fine. Just remember to clean and dry your holster right before application to avoid the wedge not adhering well.
      Hope this helps.

      Cole hit the nail on the head with the fitment and wedge setup. I don’t use one on the mag side either for similar reasons. They should also work fine on any kydex for sure, just clean it off as mentioned.
      As far as sizing goes, it can be a bit tricky. We have another video on the channel that serves as a sizing guide to help with this.

      Regular vs. wide is up to you, but I’d recommend going wide for larger setups, think full sized carry or larger weapon lights. If you carry something smaller, like a Hellcat or P365 size, the wide wedges might be too big for the holster.

      I’ve been trying them out with just tape to see where the placement feels best and which size. The M or Large I feel are the best so far. Thank you again for making such a great and informative video

      @@RangeDay I just ordered the no weapon light Axis Agis for the M&P Ca 9mm shield. Was wondering the same thing in regards to which wedge I needed to chose. Good thing I chose standard pack since the Shield is a micro single stack

    Did you size up from a medium to a large due to the larger light or to better fit the wider wedge?

    • @devinlain8203
      @devinlain8203 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just ordered a wide medium for my 19x but my light is the smaller tlr-7 so it shouldn't stick down further but I'm worried the medium might not be big enough now.

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the medium will be a good fit for you. I picked the large due to the light but almost wish I stayed with the medium.

      They’re a tad bulky as I mentioned in the video, probably should’ve went a size smaller. Very comfortable nonetheless with a bigger light on the setup though.

    How much “give” do they have? Are they softer, or more rigid?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More rigid acting than the regular wedges. Larger wedge area results in less overall pressure on the wedge, so it will compress less.

    would wide wedge work with holster without light?

    • @RangeDay
      @RangeDay  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably would work just fine, unless it’s for a weapon that’s on the smaller end. Sub-compact sized holsters might not pair well if the wide wedge is just too big to fit.
