A big part of modern dentistry is occupied by the subject and practice of teeth whitening, and while these aspirations and values do not have to be a problem per se, there are some serious things to consider when broaching the subject. Whitening has grown to be the most desirable dental procedure, and a remarkable dimension of this is the frequent requests from parents for brightening their children's teeth. As functional dentists, we have some important concerns to raise in this regard, and there are some simple rules and facts that all parents should be aware of before diving into bleaching treatments. In this episode, we explore some of the effective natural methods for whitening, what the stance of a dentist should be in these conversations and procedures, and how to mitigate the strong influence many young people experience from beauty standards on social media. We also spend some time talking about things to avoid, while noting the value of self-esteem and its relationship to our personal appearance. So to hear it all from Dr. B and Dr. Staci, be sure to tune in today!

I heard a lot of good points here. I have'nt tried Nano Hydroxyapetite but I do like using cotton balls instead of brushes. Also, I take vitamin C, B1 B2, and zinc, and L-lysine caps in my diet. I no longer get plaque from using cotton and floss, vs floss and brushes. Teeth get highly polished and feel clean as if getting an ultrasound. My gums healed too. Add whatever solution you choose to wet the cotton, and after using, throw them away. I use either grain alcohol with Tymol mouthwash and finish with warm water and a few drops of acv added.

I have cracks in my front teeth and they are stained. Any chance I can clean the stain before doing caps or veneers? I hear all the downside. But I’m looking at the option to file down my front teeth.

I got Crest White Strips for Christmas one year so I tried them.. I ended up going to the hospital after using them because of "EXTREME Full Mouth Sensitivity" it even hurt just to breath in air 😶 I'll never use them again for the rest of my life! (Neither would I ever recommend them to anyone I know) What should I use though? 🤔 I do drink tea and coffee all day every day 🤔

    Many questions still :
    - how many visits to dentist typically needed? Every other day? Or once to get a tray custom made and then do the gel at home?
    - get gel from dentist, or make your own?
    - still don’t understand if you recommend it or not?
    - brush with toothpaste? Or don’t? Or use baking soda instead?

      - don’t trust your dentist who offers whitening, and later in vid you suggest to only go to a professional dentist. Very unclear.
