Loved this simple family video walking around the Sussex Wildlife Trust HQs. Wonderful for Richard to get up close and personal to the cow pats. Also learnt a new big word for me from Julia too - the susurration or sound of leaves/trees in the wind, thank-you!
I am a bit late to the party today(been a busy day) but it was lovely to see and little Joseph walking too-he is a fine looking young gentleman. I think you took a chance with the cow pat Richard or more accurately, Julia showed a great deal of restraint. Very enjoyable video. I am also a supporter of the trust-I've not been to Woodsmill for a few years but I really must go -I used to take my sons there when they were whipper snappers.
Thankyou for showing us your walk. I did want to see the lake shown on the information board. Maybe you could do a second part, with maybe swans & dragonflies. That'd be fun.
Funny video this one, but a great place to explore it seems looks like there's alot more to explore round there, I love wildlife and nature reserves. Good to see the lovely Julia do a segment on her own too. :)
Joseph walks amazingly well. He is such a sweet baby and even smiles to the camera. My first Bald Explorer video I watched was way back when the lovely Julia and her purple hair explored flowers on the seaside. I guess it was Worthing. She was beginning her pregnancy I recall. Very nice video. Mind the cows!!
Richard Vobes you missed quite a bit, the bird hide, the pond dipping platform, the ruins and the areas they use for their pre school sessions. Little Joe would enjoy those in another years time. Love your videos by the way despite living in Sussex for nearly 70 yrs you are still showing e paces I don’t know.
Lovely video, Excellent, Lighthearted and fun. Julia is a good presenter, very natural. Joseph is growing quickly too. Very enjoyable, thanks for making and posting, Well Done.
I enjoyed these occasional fun strolls the dynamic trio has been taking of late! Don't think little Joe liked you not introducing him though - he immediately spoke right up!😄 What a treat to see Joseph's 1st Bald Explorer video "steps"!!!🤗😙 This is a great way for you & Julia to test out your knowledge of all you have learned in the way of plants & trees (& new ones to learn!)😃👍🌲🌳🌿🌻🌸🌼🍇
Nice video! I came here on a school trip in 1978! So if it opened 50 years ago it must have only been opened for 8 years! I will have to come back, while obviously avoiding the cow pats!
Thank you Richard the Sussex is definitely a very beautiful place in Britain, it's lovely to see you with your family and the contents of your videos are really worth watching. Keep going.
Haven’t been to woods mill since a school trip in the 70s, must rectify that! I should stick with the lovely Julia, she knows her trees! The one she didn’t, I want to say hornbeam but I’m not that good at trees either. Haha
Corr - Jo is so scrumptious! So good to see him strolling along. I'm glad to hear that we are not the only family to have Wildlife Trust membership, but hardly ever go along to any of the activities they organise! Tech comment: not so sure about the camera top mounted microphone. The holder of the camera is perfectly audible, but co-presenters and guests, not so. With the handheld DR-10X you automatically extend your arm and point the mic at whoever is talking, so improving the audio. Just an observation.
Thistle? Did you say thistle? When I lived on a farm in Michigan and square baled hay, I'd get thistle thorns in my fingers. We do have a Thistle Hill here in Texas. Thistle Hill is a Historic House Museum built in 1904 by a Texas Cattle Baron now in Fort Worth, Texas. Thistle Hill provides the ambiance of days gone by and living large with 1.5 acres, with heirloom plants, a tea house, pergola and carriage house. Come see it Mr. Vobes. Great video chap. Eaglegards...
Richard I just read an article on the online Guardian site about the lost of public land in England. Very informative, and scary as well! I'm seeing the loss of access here in America as well and I'm concerned about the future for my grand-daughters. Will they be able to walk about their country, or will they be denied access by the rich? The rich have already grab up huge swathes of our coastline for themselves. They want it all for themselves! England is also facing the idea of zoning being used, which would allow further degradation of open country by developers. We live in important times! Stay safe and thanks for standing up for open country!
Julia - thanks for the new word: Susurration ! :) I always wanted to know what is the word for the quiet rustling of tree leaves :) Genuinely love it :)
Oh my goodness, this is my go to place. I love it here. I'm a regular walker round there.
Lovely lighthearted video, and Joseph bless him is a star.
Marvellous little vid
Fun video, Joseph is walking well now!
The various Wildlife Trusts do a great job, We belong to the Essex section.
Great to see little Joseph walking, just after his 1st Birthday

Lighthearted and fun.
Nice video , I'm sure the outdoor experience and interaction with nature that Joseph has had from birth will set him up for life .

One of my favourite places but you’ll have to go back to show people the beautiful lake .
I can't believe we missed it!

A great video, loved seeing Joseph and Julia well done.
I have not been to Woods Mill since 1984, with a school trip. I still have their leaflet from that time. I remember that trip well.
Having fun at Woods Mill 💚 Great to see Joseph confidently walking and having fun exploring 👍

Really enjoyed this video, thank you :) I visited Woods Mill myself recently, although it wasn't quite as sunny as your visit!
