I think this is the video that should be seen by aspiring wildlife photographers. Lots of looking and walking and not much shooting (Is that so bad?). I really appreciate you saw the little things that were worthy of attention. You are where we all need to be as photographers of Nature...get past the head shots and fur and fangs!
Wow Dave thank you so much for your kind words that really means a lot! It can be so hard to feel like the trips out are worth it when you don't see all you hope for but we always feel so lucky any time we get to spend time out enjoying nature. After all, trips with fewer show-stoppers make the times they do show up all the more special! 😀
Hello from Washington State USA. This was wonderful wander, loved the video and your van! We have our SUV setup for birding and overnight adventures - It's wonderful seeing others with common interest. Looking forward to where you take us next. -Fellow birdwatchers, Jody & Chris
Hi Jody and Chris! Thank you so much for your support 😀 we absolutely love your van! Keeping our eyes peeled for your future videos! Hope you have some wonderful wildlife adventures!
Great video, thanks. Although local to Woods Mill, I confess, it has been a while since I last visited. I do remember seeing a similarly flooded scene there a few years back and saw a notification that it was closed recently due to flooding. Note to self - must make the effort to make a visit very soon.
Simon thank you so much, Water Rail was a definite highlight for us too! We absolutely love your videos and I've been meaning to put your hide tips into practice so hopefully we'll have more luck with the birds of prey next time!
Beautiful area love seeing the birds that you all have over there. Awesome video. Hope next time you catch the buzzards our buzzards is completely different from you have over there.
Hello from Scotland! I really enjoyed this video 😊 great to see more of the wildlife down south. I think you two have great potential! I will be following your journey. Subscribed!
Hi! Just came across your channel. You should definitely come up to Norfolk. You'd lose your mind. My recent sightings include Pallid Harrier, Bittern, the 3 main divers, Velvet Scoter, Red-Necked/Black Necked Grebes, Red-Breasted Goose (wild), Shore Lark, Long-Tailed Duck, Mealy Redpoll, Hen Harrier, Hawfinch and a lot lot more. I'm currently just binging your videos, your camera work is great!
Wow thanks so much Alex that's really kind of you! Norfolk certainly sounds like the place to be! We'd also love to visit The Wash one day so perhaps we'll have to organise a trip this year! Sounds like you've seen some absolutely amazing birds!
Greetings from the USA, OH. I loved the video and appreciate you taking us along on your hike. We have many of the same type of birds here, but slightly different too. I have serious van envy! I am lucky to have a few wetlands near my home. It’s pretty cold and grey here right now, but I managed to get some shots of the bluebirds, black ducks, and northern shovelers last weekend. Can’t wait to see where you take us next!
Thank you so much! We would absolutely love to see bluebirds one day, their colouring is so beautiful! Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you continue to see wonderful wildlife despite the cold and grey! 😀
I rather enjoyed this one. I do like Woods Mill but don't get there often enough. My local patch is Ashdown Forest, where I survey the fragile Silver Studded Blue butterfly each year for Butterfly Conservation. If you're at a loose end there's a short video I've posted on TH-cam. My local Sussex Wildlife Trust patch is Old Lodge, although that is very wet indeed at the moment. I look forward to seeing more of you videos, thanks.
Thank you so much 😊 Just saw your lovely videos on the Silver Studded Blue! Really excellent to see the ants and their relationship too. We’d love to spend more time in the Ashdown Forest, it’s a beautiful part of the country!
Hello from Korea! The TH-cam algorithm brought me here! It's interesting how the birds in your area are similar to those in mine but slightly more colourful. It was a sheer joy to relax and enjoy your video, it was like a short happy escape from the crazy busy reality. :)
Thank you so much! We are so pleased you liked it 😀 we have never visited Korea before but we would love to see the wildlife there! Maybe one day we’ll be able to film there too 😀
I’m currently using the Sony A7iii with the Sony 200-600mm and loving it! It’s on the heavier side so carrying it can get a little tiring but I’d say it was worth it 😀 I’m certainly no expert on gear recommendations but I’ve heard excellent things about the Sony bridge cameras like the RX10 IV which may be worth looking in to! I’d love to upgrade my own setup some time soon but think I’ll be doing some saving before I can justify it 😀
My favorite nature reserve is underwater, too. But, it is the island of Bonaire. All my wildlife videos are below the waves. ; ) It is the closest thing to being on another planet! Cheers
@@AWilderLife Once you get there, underwater, you won't want to leave. I think diving is the closest you can get to being weightless and in outer space and the flora and fauna you see is simply mind-blowing. It is truly another world on the same planet. Your videos are very well done and it would be amazing to see what you would create with underwater footage. My videos are just my raw and unedited memories as they happened largely because I am lazy at editing. Keep at it, whether you want to be a 'TH-cam Millionaire' or not, you are preserving memories for the future. Cheers
I visited Woods Mill in early autumn and was disappointed compared to a few years ago when it was really cared for, a shame compared to other sites including RHNR
That's really interesting Roger, we're relatively new in terms of the time we've been visiting Woods Mill so it's interesting to hear how it's changed from people who have been visiting more regularly. We have RHNR on our list of places to visit this year and will try to make another video about it
Thankyou for another great watch. Beautiful footage.
Thank you so much 😀 we’re so pleased you enjoyed it!
Moltes gracies! Muchas gracias!👍🏻👍🏻
Wow so much to see there, thank you for opening our eyes. The wildlife wow.
Thank you so much 😀
Nice job, thank you! :) Keep it that way.
Thank you! 😀
Such a lovely video!
That’s very kind thank you so much! 😊

Oh guys this is awesome ❤ so pro looking, you're my inspiration ❤❤❤
You are too kind Clarky! 😍
I especially like the footage of the chaffinch and his closed wing landing.
Thanks so much Brett!
this looks like my weekends in a nutshell... lots of searching for a few great moments
Looks like a very nice outing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Craig!
I just found you, i thoroughly enjoyed your video, looking forward to seeing some more. *SUBBED*

Thank you so much Brian, it’s such a nice nature reserve, we’re already looking forward to heading back there as we move towards spring 😀
Great video! I've often been to Woods Mill, but I also love Pulborough Brooks and Warnham Nature Reserve.
Thanks so much Johann! We're big fans of PB and Warnham too, we might have to do another trip there soon!
The highlight for me was the Water Rail. A wet but satisfying trip out!!👍🏼📷😃

A great view of a water rail a very rarely seen bird
Thanks so much Terry, we felt very lucky to see it!
Nice video. Pulborough Brooks has to be one of my favourite places in the West Sussex area to visit!
Thanks so much Matthew! Totally agree about Pulborough, we’re hoping to get back there very soon!
The robin is too cute 😍
We love the Robin too! 😍

What are those fabulous trousers and where did get them ? Let me know !
Hi Nick! These are the Silence Trousers from RevolutionRace. I absolutely love them 😀

Loved this and your enthusiasm and well done for lugging that lense around 😁 subscribed and looking forward to more video's
Thank you so much Dan! It definitely doubles as a workout with that lens haha
@@AWilderLife 😄 it certainly does lol
Great video. My favorite spots are all the way here in the US, but I hope to make it to the UK one day, if for nothing else European Robins.
Thanks so much Dan! We'd love to visit the US to see the American Robins, perhaps we should do a Robin swap! 😅
Sounds like a plan. 😅👍
We are lucky in this area with so many places to see wildlife. I like Woods Mill, but a regular visitor to Warnham Local Nature Reserve.
Agreed Dave! Lucky indeed! We love Warnham too, looking forward to getting back there in 2024!
Can you tell us what equipment you use. Please. also do you have any recommendations of gear for a starter.

That sounds awesome Pete! We felt nearly underwater sometimes at this nature reserve! 😀 we’d love to film below the waves one day 🌊
