Ok, the Open back then being a full 200 miles is still astonishing to me... Was longer than the main event, but was a good way to give the rest their own event to showcase enough time to their sponsors and get somewhat better at long distance racing. Had NO idea CBS carried this live in 1991. I thought ABC had it up until 1992 when TNN took over the rights for "ONE HOT NIGHT" and so on.
The beginning of the end. This format was a test to the chase which has ruined nascar. I don’t even know how it works but I do know one thing….. I don’t watch nascar anymore. It totally made me lose interest in the entire sport. You tried to make it champagne and caviar when the real fan was into hot dogs and old Milwaukee. You guys really fucked up a free lunch. NASCAR was pure and great. It now is a horrible thing to watch. Good going.
Mike Joy sure worked his way to the top. From pit guy, to THE voice of NASCAR in the booth.
Pretty cool.
Ah, the backfeed -- it was a staple of watching races at my grandparents' house as a kid
Same here, I love the seeing what other couldn’t. The great days of the huge satellite dish.
Davey Allison was virtually untouchable at Charlotte for The Winston and the World 600 that year.
I love how these raw feeds give us a peek behind the scenes. Thanks for posting them!
AHHHHH Back when NASCAR was NASCAR .
My goodness, in a field of alpha male champions of Nascar, Davey absolutely dominated. Just slaughtered the field
What a stupid comment.

Man these are perfect!!
Makes me envy classic/raw satellite users more!! ;)
Plus I like how there's directors feed and commentators banter in between the parts where commercials should be!!
Poor Mike Walltrip could never catch a break.
Half of that thumbnail is gone.😢
Neil and Dale 😂 going sink Dale's boat 🛥 😂 two of my favorites gone way to soon.
Darrell Waldrop in the lead lap is a miracle.
25:30 race start
