@@dragonzord18What do you mean by that? The evolution of the NASCAR stock car has been normal. The technology of the stock car has definitely been amazing.
Well, now no one even knows that there are any idiots who disliked it. Thanks to the yt idiots who think everyone is a super special type of person who will die if ever criticized.
The aerial shots really showed what the old half-mile oval used to be at Richmond. Easy to see given that pit road is where the old front straight used to be.
That is actually incorrect. The first ever night race held at Richmond was on Tuesday Night March 10th 1964 under temporary lighting after a rainout on the original Saturday schedule race. The sliver fox David Pearson picked up the win.
I had forgot about Ken Stabler in Nascar. I was a die hard cowboys fan in the 70s but man did I enjoy watching Stabler play. One of the best QBs I ever saw play the game. To me he never got the recognition he deserved. RIP Snake
i appreciated he wanted to go into nascar broadcasting, and was willing to be a team member instead of the star. i thought he was pretty good but didnt care much for the way he was used. i never really liked special feature segments in racing. I think he woulda done fine as third man in the booth or third man on pit road.
Richard petty won 10 in a row at one time but Harry Gant is the only driver in the Modern era to win 4 in a row and I don’t think it will be done again anytime soon.
Love this era of nascar. Shortly after you started getting into the corporate dynasty’s that dictated the sports. Back then you would still see independent teams win races. Between the loss of Dale and Jimmie winning 5 straight championships the sport has lost a lot of character.
@@MrChristopherHaas Seems like it was, I didn't really watch much racing until 1993. So I have been trying to catch up in years pre-1993 to see what the sport was like during the Dale Earnhardt championship years.
Evan Williams I’ve been watching them all since 69 and now rewatching thanks to you tube. @@MrChristopherHaas I followed NASCAR from 67 to 73, then other things in life got me distracted, but I picked it up again in the early 1990s when my newly installed cable TV carried ESPN. This past decade NASCAR has been nothing but a queasy stomach for me; with progressively fewer minutes of TV viewing time as each season passes. Gotta love all these old races. Look at the packed grandstands. NASCAR has since gone down the toilet.
Don't forget the cars too
@@dragonzord18, it's still the same!
How has it gone down the toilet? Lol. That a bit silly, don't you think?

Mike's 1991 version of the 70s porno plumber mustache lol
I was okay with him as a pit reporter. Emceeing is/was another story
the Joystache
I wasn’t expecting that lol!
Much better racing and much better points rules years ago than what we have today

I think now all of Handsome Harry's 4 win streak is on here now.
Richard Petty led his only lap of 1991 in this race. It was also the only lap he led on the current configuration
First race under the lights at Richmond, if I'm correct
Very correct
Yessir
Must have been great for the Richmond faithful after freezing their arses off in the old bleachers. Still liked the old track much MUCH better.

Bonnett was cool with squier in the booth

Actually, Bill Elliott won 4 in a row in 1992 & Jimmie Johnson won 4 in a row in 2007
@@thelegendchrisb I checked into that and that was a lie.
Waltrip, Earnhardt, Gant, Elliott, Martin, Gordon, and Johnson

Mr September 4 in a row..all started here
I was there!!
So that's what happened to Harold Kinder, I didn't know he had passed back in 1991.
Evan Williams it was a very sad season. Lots of death. Flag men, wives, grandmas, truck drivers, McDuffie, 20 car always reminding us of Moroso...
