Great video! Big warning about that colored wire from craft stores, I didn’t realize a lot of it was full-hard.. got some with coupons and it’s nearly impossible to bend lol. I just wanted some blue and gold wire to wrap a blue agate I had… the blue was crazy hard haha. Oops.
Good video. This is what I call my class, “Wire 101…and an Introduction to Wire Weaving”. We make a pendant with a simple two-wire weave and a stone bead. ‘Hardness’ is also called ‘temper’ in wire and dead-soft can always be work-hardened, if needed. Good info about plated and-filled wire. No coating = bare wire.
Coated wire, while pretty, has a nasty habit of losing its coating at thd worst spots and times. Strongly recommend latex-dipping your tools to help at least some with this. I do a lot of figurative wire art, very simple, but color is important. Sadly, at times Ive had to resort to enamel model paint to repair poor coatings.
Yes, indeed! It's one of the reasons I avoid it now and work with solid metals. But the colors can be very pretty! Love the latex tool option. I totally forgot about that!
Very good info! I've been weaving for a long time and STILL learned something new here! Thank you!😊
This! Definitely learned a few new things!
Sure thing! I'm glad it was helpful!! :)

Thank you for the info. Have you ever tried Argentium silver wire? If not, why?
I haven't yet, but I will be working with it soon, so I'll give you an update. ;)
