    Always good to change it up Dani! There is a certain novelty and enthusiasm in any job at the start that gradually wears off over the years. At which time you can either become bitter/bored or move on and change. You are quite obviously not the bitter/boring type! I wish you well in the next chapter of your life ... and with your new enthusiasms. (PS I agree that some of the joy has come out of travel since covid. Really hope that is not permanent).

    Hi Dani. From my own experience, cuz I have been away from aviation for 10 months during the pandemic I can tell you that the first 3-4 months after being away from aviation are amazing, especially if you go home like you did and I did. However after some time you will miss it a lot and you might want to come back to aviation. Hopefully you will survive a bit longer without aviation, cuz our bodies really deserve a rest, at least time to time, but flying is adictive. Anyway enjoy your next chapter from your life!

    It is with so many people who left Dubai and they don't miss Dubai. Because, as I said, there is nothing natural just buildings and man made stuff far from nature. We humans need some place where to connect with nature like lakes, Falls, mountains and greenery to revive our souls. And Dubai don't have these things. I am not saying Dubai is bad because I was there very long and worked there no problems. But I always used to feel something is missing. Canada, is better as I said, winter sucks but summers are beautiful and you see places here where you really feel like a fairy land.

    Lifelong learning, we are constantly evolving throughout our life, that’s so true.. the honeymoon phase! The rude awakening!
    this accounts for such high staff turnover. Also never making deep connections with colleagues, this would be very hard & challenging especially for young people. Lack of recognition in work, overly strict rules.. so many negatives in the job, hard never having a relationship. Never have sex, it’s not normal! So glad you had the sense, they are solely focussed on appearance, with age discrimination means there is no long term job security working in UAE anyway…

    Very informative video. You were with Qatar for 2 1/2 years and with Emirates another 2 1/2 years. That's a quite reasonable amount of time to work for either company. You spent a great deal of time with both companies, and it appears you gave both companies a fair shake. Hopefully you had another job in the works when you decided to leave. I would think it's a general rule of thumb and just plain common sense that if you were to leave a major company like Emirates and move back home to Australia you got hired by another employer before you made the decision to leave Emirates. I'm not sure how it is Down Under, but here in the U.S., most employers frown upon applicants that quit a job without having another job. And that is common sense.

    • @EarlOfSmoothSilk
      @EarlOfSmoothSilk ปีที่แล้ว

      I've heard testimonies from young women here at YT who worked for an airline company for just one month then quit their job out of the blue for ridiculous reasons, and a couple of them worked for Emirates for that short period of time. Why do that? It takes more than just one month to make the decision on why you'd want to leave that job (you being the person who foolishly and carelessly quit (his or) her job after working there for just a month.) You have to give the job a chance, and you did just that. It would be logical if you tried to make it to 90 days. That's the primary goal of ANY new employee. If I quit my current job after being there for just a month without another job lined up to replace it, there'd be NO turning back, and what I did cannot be undone. I know people who quit their jobs without getting another job before leaving, and were unable to get another job because they had to wait. And they worked for that company for a vast amount of time, not just one month. I have to ask, why is so difficult for FAs to develop trust between them and their superiors? Why even bother to apply, interview for or even accept a position if you're not serious about trying to make the job last?

  • @Hazara26
    @Hazara26 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am like this any new job very excited and after some time it become routine and I start getting bored and bored. And that is why I always look for job and it is not good because when you have so many employers on your resume then getting job is very hard because you lose the trust.

Could that be one of ur reasons why you left Emirates but didn't want to talk about on the video?

    so like you said in the video , many Girls choose this job in the air, cause they can fly around the world, making IG pics and having fun . Generally speaking, it's not just about you now and your decisions and being honest to tell it in the public, BUT what about the paid job? If the young people doing this job only because you can see the world,where is responsibility towards the employer and especially the passengers? I noticed this on my last flights compared to the flights before this social media thing started And I can say the service and friendliness on board have decreased in the last years. Are the airlines aware of this?

      This is a hard job physically and mentally as it is day in and day out. Travel maybe one reason why some chose this as a career, for others it’s still a livelihood and a means to save up etc. Sometimes one can only see the glamour aspect of flying, what about the fact that sometimes crew barely have time to eat during a rushed short or busy flight or barely catching up on rest/ sleep on different time zones or living in and out of a suitcase and barely time for family and friends or until leave. Crew are human too! and like any other job and during ones time off, one is entitled to live life a little. With regards responsibility and friendliness/ service levels, there could be so many variable factors. Social media in general if anything has exposed people to much more. It’s not just crew, there’s travel gurus also who make travel videos too. Just saying ..✌🏽

    Hi Dani, I left a msg on another of your videos, but it was an older one, so not sure if you'll see it? I'm considering applying to be a FA and am wondering whether or not you felt safe as a female, living in Dubai? Did you ever have concerns for your safety, while navigating around or, going to your accommodations; or worries of trafficking? Did you ever feel like the job expected you to do anything inappropriate with any of the affluent males who flew; whether or not they were Middle Eastern? I'm sorry to ask such frank questions, but I've just had concerns and would appreciate if you would share some feedback. Thank you!

      Hi Jennifer,
      Personally I felt extremely safe in Dubai and Qatar when I lived there. In fact I felt safer there as a woman than living in Australia. I would happily walk the streets at night, catch the train by myself at night, there was so issues for me that I experienced. I get extremely safe, crime is very low. Also, no there is no expectation for anything inappropriate on the job, if you clear on your boundaries than no one can will take advantage of you. Of course be savvy when you are travelling (particularly on your own) but that can be applied to anywhere in the world.
      Hope that helps! You have nothing to worry about in that regard
      Cheers, Dani

In this video I understand that you left your job after two years of service, is this right? So like myself if I want to leave early before my contract finishes, will I have to pay an early termination fee to the company, did you pay back any fees to the company when you left, if so how how much? I am having two minds if I will go through to this employment as I am not sure if I would like it and if I won’t be able to complete the 3 year contract that I have signed and worry about the consequences of the cost. I will be grateful if you can give me some insight on this matter. Thank you.

    Dubai is good and I lived there for very long but it is not natural and only buildings and sands. I hate sand and beach not my type. And it very small country no where to go except night clubs, malls and beach. Now I live in Canada huge country cold in winter which sucks but summer very beautiful. I will not visit any country where you don't get weed and very hard to get weed and law for weed is very tough. Canada, weed is legal and to go from one part of the country to other part would take you days almost 5000 km. So many lakes and stunning beauty.

    Flight attendant type was exactly the type of women I would not marry. They would never grow up and settle down.

      Never judge a book by its cover, there are many flight attendants that settle down and in my opinion, there is a lot of wisdom and maturity that comes from travel

      Jeez! Stereotypes much!! There’s plenty of Flight attendants who are married and have kids and still manage to fly, and spend time with their kids on their off days and juggle everything else that one does in a normal household ( with help of course!). Don’t put everyone in one group and since when does getting married equate to “being settled “. There are people in life in general regardless of their job, who chose to stay single for their own personal reasons. No offence but perhaps what “needs to grow “ is your mentality and perspective on life in general .
