- This weeks True Crime video we visit the graves and hear about the murders of 5-year-old Brenda Goddard, 9-year-old Cicely Batstone and 5-year-old Linda Bowyer
John Thomas Straffen (27 February 1930 - 19 November 2007) was a British serial killer who was the longest-serving prisoner in British history. After killing two young girls in the summer of 1951, he was found unfit to plead at trial and committed to Broadmoor Hospital. During a brief escape in 1952, he killed again. This time, Straffen was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

This is so heartbreaking to hear this. I have never heard of this case. He is mentally impaired as his skills for thought and recognisation were depleted by a brain injury which could have been caused at birth or some other means. Thank you so much for this case.

(She was only young herself when the murders happened) the girls have never been forgotten by those who remember the case 🙏🏻🕊

Evening Paul, I cried through this one, those poor little girls, who could have grown up to be beautiful young women and have children of their own. Their lives taken away by a monster of a man who didn’t know right from wrong.

John Straffen was certainly a twisted tortured sadistic individual, the awful things that must of filled his head permanently which none of us watching could ever comprehend, or make sense of, utterly despicable. Those poor little girls what they went through doesn't bare thinking about, the parents loss of a child, awful, can't imagine. I am very much enjoying the True Crime vids. The normal vids that celebrate a celebrity's life and achievements are great fun and bring back many happy memories. The sad stories of what humans are capable of doing to other humans are sad, but for the sake of the victims, these stories should be told. A very respectful tribute to those poor children. Paul. Oh dear where do I start. Hadn’t heard of this case before. Your compassion excelled itself tonight! SOB was too kind. Sentence was too lenient. Flowers were such a lovely touch. Couldn’t help wondering why one grave seemed ‘Cleaner’ than the other. Thanks yet again. Bob
How was the sentence too lenient? He was mentally retarded and got a life sentence, he died in prison.

The cemetery looks quite old and pretty unkempt in places ,probably because of the older graves.

Hi, Paul. Is this the Crime Files video you mentioned in your birthday livestream? It's not a case I've come across before; it might be a more obscure one, which is a shame when it involves children. I see you're trying out the new drone, I didn't realise it was drone footage until it started to get airborne at 7:18.
You brought some beautiful flowers and I also like the pinecone arrangement on Cicely's grave, which was presumably something to do with Christmas.
I didn’t have the drone in this one, I just raised my camera up on the stick and extended it. Drone won’t be for a while yet
OMG Feel so sorry for Paul doing these Crime Videos, i appreciate and respect the fact he does it to Honour the Poor Children who lost their lives wayyyyyy too soon and NOT the MONSTER who did it....
