  • Hi Friend,
I continue my adventures in the Utah backcountry with my friend Abi. It's been so beautiful to experience sisterhood, after so much solitude. We find one of my FAVORITE campsites ever, explore Capitol Reef National Park, and I share one of the most important thoughts that totally changed my life.
Keep shining. The world needs you.

Alyssa sweetie you are absolutely right. Life is not a journey, it's more of a quest. A quest to find the things in life that make us truly happy. Weather that be friends, a loved one, or even just a place that you stumble across accidently. My wish for you is that you find nothing but happiness along your travels. May you never go to sleep without a smile on your face. 😍 As always, BIG HUGS from Tennessee! 😁👍

Remember to log your fluids of your engine oil levels before setting off to another adventure so that way nothing goes wrong and check your brake pads as well. Please keep safe in this world of Wonders of True Life.

All those fluids and other checking weren't in her earlier life. She probably doesn't have any of those fluids to refill. And how to read these areas that needs to be looked into. All those were learned while we were much younger. My dad used to have me or my brother check them. We were on a farm.

I disagree. Regrets are part of being human and without regrets, you don't grow and mature as a person. Animals can't regret, but being a person has that important capacity.

Listening to Mr.Watts speech, watching this beautiful video, man I’d be lying if I said it didn’t tear up a bit. Those words just hit me hard, cause that’s my life. Now 42, my life seems empty…what have I really done so far?! It’s always been wake up, go to work, rinse and repeat, since I was 10 years old. I’m so happy there are people like you with this platform to inspire others. Hopefully people will latch on to that, and take that chance too, rather than follow the cycle. Life is short, you wake up one day middle aged and look back and say, where did that time go?! You move been a robot for 20 years and have barely lived in the moment or explored what this life really has all about. This right here…this is what it should be about!

I rarely EVER... NEVER comment twice on a video... but the peacefulness... the tranquility... the raw honesty... towards the end of this video, 10:35 compelled me to say something... again. There is something so beautiful about this woman that words cannot explain. It's what LOVE should feel like.

Many years ago John Steinbeck made a journey similar to yours. His book "Travels With Charley" tells the story of his journey across America. It was a vastly different America than today. His inspiration changed my outlook on life and has served me well through many years. Regretlyss translates for me to "No Regrets" in which I've lived my long life. I've passed these traits not by mere words but in the way I lived my life as an example to my 3 three children. Do it now and never look back and by God it's been one Hell of a ride. You've done well to embark on such a journey and may you be an inspiration for others to follow. Simple words that can have a profound effect in someones life "Regretlyss - No Regrets".

  • @got2flynow

Once again Lyss, you brought something new to the "vlog story table". This is the secret of any creative story teller and writer. I never quite know where you are taking us when we start each adventure, but as it unfolds... it is usually thought provoking, real, and always beautuful. Like any great song, there seems to be a rhythmic pattern and just when you think you have it down... you throw us a surprise. It is the balance of these patterns and surprises that keeps life interesting... your stories are just like that. The introduction of the Alan Watts audio was just what was needed to bring home the surprise of how we need to "focus on the dance". Even though he died almost a half century ago, his words are nonetheless alive and still true today. We (in particular, Americans) are so busy trying to "win" the dance, instead of living the dance.
Because I usually spend the first view in the premiere chat, I normally go back and watch it several times so that i don't miss something. I can't always do that with vlogs or movies I watch. But Lyss, your stories always give me new facets to see and think about every time I watch it... it is uncanny... new things and new ideas on multiple levels. Amazing.
Lyss, I want to thank you for thinking so much about us, that you would spend this much time to take us along on your journey. ✌️ Til next time... I'm going to remember to focus on the dance 🕺.

Some say that they are not who they are supposed to be but that's the knot that keeps them stuck, untie those knots and say I AM who I AM right now because I AM a tree ever-changing always rearranging what we want is to know.... But first we must grow ... Don't forget that your gift from God is a present 💝 it's the present moment and it doesn't exist in the past and is always waiting for US in our future so don't ruin the surprise by looking too far with your eyes focus on the now because your exactly where you are supposed to be... This is regret less because worry only slows us down and keeps us tied to the ground but we are meant to fly high up in the sky and you should by now understand why🙏🤲🌻🕯️🗝️

I can really relate to what Allan was saying about the progression of life. The school, career, living life in a blur, striving for decades. Only to retire old and worn out. For me, it's always been the little things in life. Nature has a way of slowing things down, soothing the soul and quieting my mind. The arch at the park you were at looked amazing, and so did that food you were cookin! That store in the rock was cool, too!

Normally, I'm a passerby and seldom am captivated by any one TH-cam video, or series. And then, quite by chance, I came upon a vid by someone called "Regretlyss". It was a van build vid and I'm always interested in seeing how people create and do things. I was fascinated. Not just by the building of your bus, but, by your personal stories. Those were what caught my attention. And I watched each video you put out. And I listened to your stories and I found myself wondering what could have happened in such a short life time so far (at my age, you get some perspective on life's challenges and what we think of as being a "long" time). But, then I realized that you were expressing yourself about your own personal life's journey that has encompassed joys and heartbreaks that every human being who has ever lived and will yet live experiences. But, you have the talent of self expression that EVERYONE can relate to and identify with. Believe me when I say that is a rare gift. And it is a gift. To be able to experience life and share your passion so openly, well, I am humbled to have run across someone like you.
I may be older in years, but, I share your passion for life. Though I'm not as courageous about sharing that passion as you are. Because you are so willing to share your feelings, you're likely to experience more intense joys and sorrows because of it. Only you can say if that's worth it. From where I stand, when your life's journey is over and you look back on your life and see everything you did and experienced I suspect you're going to nod your head in approval and say "now, that's a life worth living". No regrets. Regretlyss. Hah! I just got that. ;0)

As we grow it’s easy to fall in love with stuff that we have but when we don’t have it it makes it more memorable because we don’t need a destination to be free and fulfilling the life we chose to live

that was awesome 😊. It's amazing how the simple things in life bring the most joy. After watching this video I will never call it a journey as I did in my last comment. I have listened to Allen Watts , but don't recall hear that one. At times I will listen to videos like Allen Watts more than once , because there is much to learn that I miss the first time hearing.

Elas vão além do HORIZONTE.

Her insight is truly a gift!

Live and enjoy. For those with families to turn to in desperate moments, this is an easy choice. Take adventures as long as possible.
If you’re one without the security of family, you must still adventure, but never forget to plan for the day the systems of youth start to fail. It will be on your shoulders to survive. Just thoughts to consider.
As an old creative soul, born with the rebellion of the 60s and 70s, and who recently retired on Social Security - parents, grands, aunts, uncles… all gone now, I was only forced to save late in life. And it has saved me. I love my quiet modest days, but there’s not much left for adventure. It’s a calm kind of security and joy.
Living the possibilities through people like you Alyssa, and your Regrelyss home are wonderful. You may never know how much happiness you inspire, for those of us living vicariously through your travels. ✌🏼

When you get to see some of the greatest things that nature and God's great world has to offer, life isn't so much a journey anymore. It's a story to be told, lived, heard and felt by all. It's a story that touches the heart, soul and much more. Where there's a story, it's not about what's at the end because there really isn't an end. It's about where the story takes you, the adventures along the way, the victories, the trials and what you learn hidden inside the story itself. Life is a book that you write for all others to see when it comes your time to give the next chapter to a successor who can carry on the story in your stead. That's why it's a neverending story in itself.

Life is most definitely not a journey. It’s a process by which souls are sorted. How do you give someone a test if you’ve already given them all the answers. You don’t tell them it’s a test.

Stumbled across your cold camping youtube, it stirs memories of liven off horseback and the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles I covered. No heat or water through. I woke months back thinking it would be a damn shame to die without covering some country on the back of a horse again. Go down the Paria River while you are in southern Utah, the movie set from outlaw Josie Wales is on the non-park section of the Paria and Kodachrome basin has some weird worship thing. Make you hair standup in a late fall thunder and downpour storm. Hell, rained so hard i could barley see the ground. Henry Mtns. are awesome. Don't know what Silver City NM is like anymore but it was full as hell. My horse died of old age, but today I checked my old gear and began looking for a new pony pardner. Thanks for the inspiration! Luck to ya!.

After watching 100s of these TH-cam videos and hearing many metaphysical platitudes this one has to be one of the most sincere and honest expressions of a true seeker. I loved, LOVED the Alan Watts voice over and sitting by a stream was the BEST. The seeker sitting by a stream has been represented the spiritual state of ONENESS in so many Hindu, Buddhist and philosophical scriptures (Siddhartha). Looking forward to watching the rest of your journey.

I agree with Jame Bond as well. You and Abi are living your lives to the fullest right now. Both of you are doing what we were afraid to do. So we watch videos like yours. Most people go thru life by hitting the baseball of life to get on the bases hoping to get to home base. What you and Abi have learned, at a young age, is hit the home base but turn left and go to first base again to repeat your life journey again! Love your life story the you share with us! Amazing videography!. P.S, ditch the Watts stuff. You will feel better!

Why would you say life is not a journey when in fact it is? But not only is it just a journey it can be an adventure too. Come sleep with me Alyssa, I know that if you don't then yes life is not a journey. We love each other but how can we if Alyssa won't take the one adventure of her life that really matters: the one where wisdom meets the road whether it be as one drives east and watches the sunrise or west and knows that a good adventure of that leg of the journey is sealed in ones dreams as the sun flows red to a final rest only to know that tomorrow's journey brings it back with a fresh new brilliant and radiant yellow glow with its sunrise once again.

It's semantics in the simplest measure. And once I learned to dance, my journey through life truly did become a dance. As for Alyssa, the Lady chooses with whom she shall dance and sleep with. Respect above all else when addressing a Lady, please. I don't recall her mentioning a love for anyone known as "user".
