  • Do you dream of running away?
In this video, I finally leave the desert and find my way back in the mountains. I talk about how I left my old life behind, and the misconceptions people have about me, living this new life.
I hope you all are well, I'm so excited for what's ahead.
    Lyss.

Outstanding video! In a few months I'll be 71 years old. I've learned many things over the years but one of the most important is, it's YOUR life! Nobody can live it for you. Follow your passion! It does take a certain amount of courage, as you've discovered. When you reach the end of life, the last thing you want is the realization that you wished you'd gone a different path. I admire you. You seem to have found out early. Continued safe travels.

Ricardo, I am 72 and as I look back on my life, the only regret I have is that I did not live as Alyssa is living now. And yet still, I feel very blessed for having lived the life I have with the sense of purpose I was given at a very young age. Life is beautiful. Life is precious. Life is a gift. Cherish every moment.

Wow, from desert to greenness and life again. Both are so beautiful in their own way. I like your analogy about the flower. Most people never think about the soil when the flower starts to fade. They think, what's wrong with that flower? What you're doing is cultivating your soil. Spending time by yourself is one of the best ways to get to know you. You don't spend any more time with anybody else except you so you've got to learn to like yourself. Knowing who you are gives you valuable information about who you want to spend the rest of your life with without settling. When I was 18, I had the opportunity to go with some of my best friends cross country from the Midwest on a trip to explore the country. I didn't go because I felt responsible to my job. Responsible to earning money for college. I've regretted it ever since. Let the people who don't get it keep talking about the flower, you're working on your soil. The precursor foundation.

my goodness you are the prettiest person i have ever seen in my life, i swear to you. what a natural beauty. plus your soul, spirit, personality, you are just way too incredible. You are living the dream. So happy youtube recommended someone as great as you for me to follow along with. This is my dream for when my kids go off to college in a few more years. I have been saving and planning and watching everything i can for my own build. But your videos are the only ones that have shown me much more than a build, but rather a real life on the road. And you are wise beyond your years.

Lovely video today. Your narration is thoughtful and feels like the chapter of a novel, leaving us wondering what comes next. A "page-turner" for sure. The interior of your traveling home looks so inviting and spacious. Naturally, some of the criticisms you mention are a necessary outcome of being a substantial presence on social media - it invites some to try to find fault with your journey. Don't listen. I look forward to the next installment (excited when I saw the notification tonight and found story 39). Continue to live your life of discovery. Cheers.

Hello Alyssa, I recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed observing your journey. I've been considering purchasing an RV and in doing so the algorithms to my search has brought me to discover several channels here on TH-cam of folks like yourself living in their vehicles, vans, RVs etc., and their journey and experiences on the road. I have been a truck driver over the road for over 30 years, and it's a lifestyle that is very similar to yours. The main differences a truck driver does not really have that a person driving a regular vehicle has is not being able to stop and explore the areas they travel through. One of the things that you mentioned in your videos is that you were someday wanting to purchase a piece of land or real estate somewhere.. I just wanted to share with you that I am an investor of rental properties in New Mexico primarily Albuquerque area, and an excellent method of purchasing property is through a real estate contract. I encourage you to research that method and I wish you much luck and safety out there on the road. God bless and be safe! Geo

You're welcome, and I am enjoying your videos very much. I have hiked many areas in UT and surprised I never heard of the Wave. I've hiked the narrows, canyon lands, Angeles landing, Brice etc. So thank you for sharing your hike at the wave, so beautiful! 😊👍
A suggestion for you if you've never hiked through Antelope Canyon in AZ you have to check that out when you get a chance.
I'm open to discuss any questions you may have regarding a real estate contract, so don't hesitate to ask.
      Take care! Geo

Very cool what you are doing. Nice to see there are young folks not complying with the narrative and seeking something real.
I spent the better part of 30 years on the road though different circumstances but the road doesn’t care what brings you to it, it’s lessons are universal for those who are real and open to what a life of solitude can bring.
I’m 65 well, will be in a few days. I left the road in 2009 moved to some land I bought in 2004 in the Aquarius mountains of northwest AZ and checked out of the world.
I had no idea there were so many nomads living in vans as this video just popped up in my recommended a day or so ago. Also I spend little time online.
I would like to extend an invitation to you as well as any who may read this post and be traveling in the southwest U.S. and would like a nice secluded peaceful place to hang for a bit and recharge.
I’m a loner and happy to be alone but I'm thinking it may be nice to have open minded authentic folks visit now and then.
I’m at 4600 ft so the weather is pretty nice year round and close to interstate 40 so easy to get to.
Contact info on my about page if anyone is interested.
    Cheers
    Joe

Your self awareness is joyful and your conclusions due to introspection joyful. If you ever become 'settled, ' be sure to keep those qualities, they will improve the lives of those around you although they won't know how you do it. Always be you, you can't be everyone else. Fond wishes from 🇬🇧

Love the scenery! If you get the chance on September in Franklin TN there is a group gathering that is like no other, all about making that beautiful land even better. I went last year and the people were amazing, nobody cared about petty things, 70 people out enjoying the land. I love the flower analogy, if you attended it would expand your knowledge and understanding of all flowers, plants, animals, and humans to a degree that everything around you will flourish.

Late to the video this time, but perhaps better to watch on an early Monday morning as I get ready for the week. When you got to the part about people criticizing you for choosing this life, my blood just started to boil. At 50, I'm becoming less and less tolerant of the social boxes we are expected to pretzel ourselves into for no other reason than to make others feel comfortable. To Hell with that. In no small way, your videos, your story, have helped to remind me that I can still stand up and make my own choices, to pursue what makes ME happy instead of constantly bending and twisting to what others want. Keep searching. Keep learning. We are all here with you.

At 14:55 in my mouth dropped saying OMG. I say that with respect as if I was that guy, I would be happy also.
Not that I am anyone, but I am very proud of your adventures and learning more about yourself.
I loved visiting Colorado (Pagosa, Durango Areas)
Before all the chaos began in 2019 Yah' told me to find land near a national forest with clean drinking water. So San Juans was first choice.
Good land was too expensive for me, so I headed towards the Ozarks in Arkansas. I went to Whitaker Point and knew this is where I was meant to buy land.
It has been so nice to ween myself off the world system to a more natural agrarian life.
May Yah' reveal Himself to you so that He may put you in good soil and give you good water so that you can live your purpose to the fullest beyond what you already have been doing.
    Peace
