12:05 all the ones from 3 to 7, that's why some people suggest to start from 3 ahah the tone and production value change so much from here
First is still my favorite and after binging all of these last month (except 2 which is the Phantom Menace of this series) I think I can say this is my second favorite. This or number 4. Really hard to choose because of Mr Hoffman.
Loving your reactions to the M:I films.
Im surprised you didn’t notice thats the Bishop from Vikings
If you could consider reacting to the new show "From", you would make me very happy. 😊
It's better than The Walking Dead and even better than Midnight Mass imo. And it's a FUCKED UP show... 😅
I'm sure, you'll like it. 👍
Mi3 had one of the best opening scenes in the series
The best! Honestly one of the best of any film out there!
The one for me since there was like so many twists
Mi5. Plane.
Also, Best villain. RIP, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
@@klass_1221 best villain ? Salomon Lane ?
And this is where the mission impossible franchise really begins.
Meh. It already begun with the great first movie.
@@BenSlashes yeah.... but the second was crap. This third entry is the real second movie of the franchise for me... the second doesn't exist.....
@@renejrgensen5787 I second that 😬
@@BenSlashesOne could argue both the first and second movies don't matter to the overall plot of the franchise in later films. MI3 introduces Benji and Julia, and the first two movies don't really give anything relevant to the later entries besides Luther in the first film. And on top of all that, MI2 is just garbage and not worth watching. Ever.
I started from here after they recommended me to do so ahaha saw 1 and 2 through reactions
Cruise is such a pleasure playing Ethan Hunt. Glad you all enjoyed this one.
These get better from here on out. This one is my favorite. Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Owen Davian is one of the best villains in the series.
I disagree. MI1 was either the best or second best. And while 4 & 5 are very good, they are not as good as MI 1,3 or 6.
His whole “I’m just bored with all of you,” thing just makes him so unique and menacing.
Nikki cracking up at her own jokes seriously makes my day! 😂
This and Ghost Protocol are my faves. This one was directed by JJ Abrams and had so much Alias influence to it. It also soft rebooted the franchise bec the 2nd one had mixed reactions. Also, Simon Pegg.
It's not just the budget. Look at the directors for each one.
You can tell the direction styles, not just the cinemaphotography but also the storytelling.
They get better EACH. TIME.
There's some meta jokes and some re-booted tropes that are ok in that they admit to not wanting to run something into the ground.
Like the masks won't get old because it's not always just the reveal, but the use of (or the ability to NOT use them).
Great series.
Meh. John Woo should never have tried to make a spy thriller. I haven't watched MI2 since it was released but the guy can't do "brain". This was the same era as Bourne Identity. So...MI2 doesn't count.
Best cold opening in all MI movies, IMO.
I remember the trailers for this movie being hype af back in the day, the TV spot was that dope scene with the predator drone blowing up the car and Tom flying into the car next to him.
It's crazy that I remember that ad from the TV. When I watched this movie for the first time and seen that moment there was like a sudden memory rush
25:45 I always did love the fact that the actors who play the villains get a brief and short role of being the main character disguised as them. Phillip Seymour Hoffman playing a ruthless villain in this film but also getting to act like Tom Cruise in disguise as himself while pretending to be him must have been super fun. May he rest in peace.
This is my absolute favorite M:I movie, because the villain is terrifying and not cheesy. The stakes are high and personal. And the action is grounded. Perfect match for my taste. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I love this intro. It’s just letting you know, this is an entirely different Mission Impossible.
Been waiting for this for ages, my fav MI for sure, brilliantly intense and action packed as always. Tom Cruise is fantastic 🔥
One of my favourite franchises. I'm so excited for you both to journey through the series, it just gets better and better.
Agreed. 3 is where it really stepped up a notch and has continued an amazing winning streak. The recent one was awesome too.
The tone changed because this is where Tom really took creative control over the franchise.
That and the fact that MI 2 at the time didn´t do all that well compared to the first movie in the market, people thought it was too goofy.
This was a massive return to form, and a new building block for the movies going forward.
Congrats, you made it past the first (requisite) 3 movies. Now, the series REALLY hits its stride. You will be introduced to other characters that you will just love. I've been enjoying all your reactions to the series, keep it up guys!
MI3 is the beginning of the rise of this great franchise. The next one is even better and they get better and better.
The rise already started with the great first movie.
MI2 was basically a John Woo movie featuring Ethan Hunt. If you loved Face/Off then you'd absolutely be on board with MI2, but 3 onwards have a much more unified style, though the directors do give each a little twist. The mix of espionage, beautiful locations and spectacular set-pieces makes for a really fun series.
I love Face Off, and I think Mi2 is hot garbage lol
This will forever be the best one. I don't care how many others they make.
It’s so hard to rank these movies imo cus I feel like every single one of them other than 2 are soooo good. For me personally I like 5 the best
The next 4 are far superior
This is my favorite in large part because Phillip Seymour Hoffman was SUCH a good villain. I loved it
That cold open is legendary, and MI3 was the first movie in a while before that, of any kind, that gave that feeling as you walk back to the car like " goddamn that was 🔥🔥🔥" LOVE IT?
Alot of ppl would say this is the best villain of the whole franchise
That’s pretty impressive since all of them have pretty great villains.
I dunno if I could pick just one but he is perfect in this role
Him and Lane
@@thomasanderson2384 august?
This is definitely my favorite of the ones I've seen (seen 1-4 and haven't seen further). Hoffman was incredible as a villain - not physically threatening or terribly competent in a physical sense (as evidenced by even as handicapped as he was how fast Ethan took him out at the end) but just terrifying as hell with his delivery and the representation of his power.
So whats the hold up lmao, watch the rest of them
YES! This is my personal favorite in the series.
One of the craziest openings to any mission possible film!
I am partial to this one cuz I worked on the set for a couple days. Not IN the movie or anything - just on set. But this made me a HUGE TC fan. Everyone - from top to bottom - was bringing their 100% A-game. For every.single.aspect of the movie. And all his productions are like that. It’s astounding.
The good news is that there's even better things to come! This is a fantastic series and this is when it found itself. The first movie is a gem of suspense but this one let it surpass James Bond because it has both solo spy goodness and ensemble adventure as well. Too, too good!
Okay, I have to say, now that you have watched the first three, please, PLEASE don't stop here. The series gets SO SO BETTER from here. Mission Impossible 4, 5, 6 and 7 are four of the BEST EVER action flicks ever. They are so different from the first three, you'll know when you watch them. So, please, don't stop here. I promise you, you'll be blown away. 🙂
The opening scene is one of the best. Its really memorable
"I have a charge in my head, I'm going to die unless you kill me"
Lmao
This movie is my introduction into the Mission Impossible franchise, the third movie. Everything is all too good from start to finish. This holds a special place in my heart being the best MI movie out of all MI movies.
This was the first Mission Impossible movie I've ever watched and to me it was the best one.
This is so exciting. Love your reactions and can't wait for the next movies. 😅
i am from the netherlans its 3 o'clock midnight and i am waiting for this :) thanks
That’s dedication right there! 👍🏻
Around 39 minute mark:
Nikki - "The heights! Oh, the heights!"
Me - **patiently waits for reaction fo MI:4** 😂
28:05 Fun fact: That really was an explosion that they got to film for the movie. Blowing up the car was the very last thing they filmed at the Vatican.
Getting permission from them was incredibly difficult and had to be planned safely and as precisely as possible. You can't just blow something up right then and there; so the film crew had to work hard to get it all in one take. Getting approval from the Vatican to film the car explosion is pretty impressive.
Best. Reaction. Ever. I love you, guys!! Thank you for this. I felt like I was in the room watching with you’ll. This is a special one for me because of the back story of Tom Cruise having watched J.J.’s show, Alias, and loving it so much that he handpicked J.J. to direct this and bring J.J.’s team on from Giaccino’s music composition to J.J.’s casting directors to J.J.’s writing team. Phenomenal. I loved, Alias, and so I loved that villain scene with Hoffman & Cruise fighting and the Giaccino music score making it Soooo intense!! Chef’s kiss! Anyway, have a great night and can’t wait for your next reaction! Much love! 🫶❤😉👍😁😎🥳
I love MI:3. It’s my second favourite of the franchise. I love the darker tone. I love that JJ Abrams (with his first film as a director here) channels his TV show Alias in this (that did a lot of high action scenes and also starting in the future and then flashing back). Plus, it’s funny you mentioned True Lies, as him talking about his boring job and the bridge sequence both remind me of that film. Philip Seymour Hoffman is so darn good in this.
The next 2 are really good as well. So glad you're doing this series guys.
Great channel & reaction. 👊🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great reaction guys like always, from here on out they get better and better. Can't wait!!! and some fun facts about this movie. The interior of Ethan Hunt's house reproduces the decor of the JJ Abrams family home, Ricky Gervais was chosen to play Ethan Hunt's ally. This role later went to Simon Pegg and thank god Simon Pegg was choosen. Keep up the amazing work.
Literal spoiler about Luther. Why do people insist on giving info about the future movies? They're going to finish them all soon, you don't need to spoil anything no matter how small
Delete the spoilers!
The best Mission Impossible movie and a top 10 movie of all time for me, absolutely love the intensity of it. Best opening of all time too.
Director : Let's use CGI
Tom: i am CGI ( Cruise Going Insane)
This is where the series takes off.
You got through the rough part of this series, the 1st and 2nd. They just get better from here and this one was really good.
The 1st is absolutely not a rough spot, some people still think its the best one.
@@Billyregin Exactly. The tone and base had to be set first. Imagine starting with 3. Everyone would have said it was too insane and ridiculous of a plot to be realistic at all.. But it is just a step up from the previous bar set. I really can't say my favorites as 4 is a lot of fun and 5 gets Rebecca Ferguson, who is great. Six gets so super crazy again too like another step up like 3 was.
@@joelwillems4081 The first actually felt like a spy/thriller. The rest are IMO just entertaining Hollywood action movies.
What are you talking about. The first one is one of the best.
There is no "rough" one.
🖐here. Its my favorite. Together with with 3 and 6
This was a pretty fun movie. The introduction of Benji was a really nice addition, and to a lesser degree Julia. MI:3 was a step in the right direction, MI:4 is fantastic, and then MI:5-7 with a shared writer/director continue the excellence.
Avoiding JJ Abrams films at all cost since Star Trek has made me forget how obsessed the man is with lens flares. Like, jesus...
This one was great!! I think your analysis is spot on! I also think that the series only gets better from here! Sp prepare yourselves! So much fun!!
The newer mission impossibles are actually the better ones. None of them are bad, just they keep upping their game every movie. One of the most underrated franchises.
Oh I loved this reaction. Can't wait for u to get to next three. 😂😂❤❤🎉🎉
24:30 Your reactions are so ON POINT: "Where's the rest of the dress?" - It got robbed at the Colosseum... Nah. I've avoided being robbed 99 times - but they get you that one time... Thanks for admiting to also being fooled by the "theatre of the street". If a BIG guy like you - got robbed - I don't need to feel that bad about myself beeing fooled by street robbers in Barcelona....
From this one, they all are GREAT
The top and bottoms comment had me CACKLING 😂😂😂 Hope you guys continue the series ❤️
The incredible thing is- This is amazing and it only get's better from here!
The opening flash forward was one of the very first movies to ever do it (which JJ Abrams had used in his TV series Alias a few years before) and is one of my favourite openings to a movie ever. It has been overused in movies/shows since MI3 though for sure. Cruise's acting from trying to go through trying to "handle" Davian through lies and manipulation until he realises it isn't working and begs him to not kill her is spectacular. My favourite movie of the series closely followed by MI6 Fallout.
Sunset Boulevard (1950) did a flashback opening with a dead man telling the story of events leading to his death.
Watching these MI films with you guys, twenty-odd years later, feels like the first time I saw them in the cinema. Thank you for the gift.
Your reactions to everything you watch take me right back to the first time
Mission Impossible is my favorite movie franchise, so im glad yall are reacting to it!
Tom flying and his body shattering the window sequence has held up beautifully. This is the moment Tom has the lightbulb moment. I know I hung off a cliff in the last one, but what if I did ALL the stunts!?
Speaking of mission impossible, Philip Hoffman played Willy Loman in a legendary high school stage production of Death of a Salesman. Playing an old broken man deep in his own imagination as a high school senior, he brought the house down. His loss to the acting world was colossal.
The best movie in the series. I love how Ethan's private life is involved, it get personal and you feel for the character. After the third one it became to ridiculous again.
This movie is one of the best action movies with casino royale!
This movie is SO awesome! And so are YOU guys. I just ADORE you! You’re so much FUN! I just wanna hang out and watch movies with you all day!
I just can't handle Nikki's references saying "thats what she said"! LOL🤪🤪🤪
I hope you guys keep going with these I love it
I dont usually comment, but Nikki omgggg your hair looks amazing!
Thanks guys for great content
I remember LOVING this movie when it came out. It’s for sure my favorite in the franchise and is a stand alone great film
yup, people say it gets only better after this movie but IMO this one is the best. (also I don't get all the comedy that Benji brings after MI3)
This one in particular is my favorite out of the whole franchise, Philip Seymour Hoffman that's such an awesome job
I love that y’all are watching these! This is probably my second favorite Mission Impossible movie behind Fallout. That one is my favorite. Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation were good but but Fallout was just phenomenal and I can’t wait for you to watch it!
Awesome movie! Watched it so many times! The next one, Ghost Protocol, is my favorite in the whole fantastic series so far. Such creative and awesome action scenes. Can't wait to see how you like it!
The irony of getting an Arby's commercial before this lol. It's like they know what movie I'm about to watch.
This movie is so underrated! In my opinion its the darkest of the series but features the best villain in the franchise!
Fun stuff guys….love it ❤️🎥❤️
I think this one is my favorite.
Still my favourite movie in the franchise. Best villan, best acting by Tom and the whole team.
This is definitely an example of the 9/11-Bourne effect where things are just taken much more seriously than in the 90s.
That's why Steven has to pay attention. He constantly looks away and doesn't see what happens in the movie
I am sitting with someone watching these movies. I’m going to look at the person I’m watching with every once in a while.
Iv’e been waiting for 2-3 days for this reaction.
Hadnt seen this in a while, always liked it but was even better than I remembered
14:41 Ironic that Steven looks away to say "Hopefully, it works!" at the exact right moment to miss it not working.
Your dad jokes are absolutely hilarious 😂
I’ve been waiting for this 😎
I'm enjoying this So much! Favorite franchise
Props to y'all for quoting Jamie Foxx: I might need Security lol
"Wakes up with morning wood" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Moral of the story is don't marry a secret agent too much trouble for marriage
cant wait for the rest.
Mission Impossible is one of my favorite franchises. J.J. Abrams took the franchise to a whole new level and it keeps getting better with each one. I can't wait for you to watch the next ones!
Leaving Nikki a little bit speechless was almost a mission impossible on it's own.......great reaction to one of the best.
The first 3 MI movies are like their own trilogy. You're in for a treat with the next ones.
I haven’t seen any of the other MI movies pass this point, so just for now I’ll say that this is my favorite. I went back-and-forth between this is the first one, but I really do like this one a little better. It’s the perfect mixture of action and humor
this is definitely one of my favorites along with m.i 4 and m.i 5, amazing action movies, cruise never disappoints
Nice callback to the I Might Need Security standup show, awesome.
Love u guys ❤
RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman
guys you only have a few more to catch up with the next one. 4 Ghost Protocol, 5 Rogue Nation, 6 Fallout, thay are one story ark so enjoy them. the 7th one Dead Reckoning Part One only came out this July and starts us on a new story ark.
They need to react to dead reckoning is well l get that they would not watch till it comes out on dvd and blu ray like when they can watch it digitally
Great reaction ❤❤❤ welcome to MI family!
These movies just get better and better.
Great reaction, Nikki and Steven. If those are your real names. The next 3 get bigger, more impactful, and more fun. If Nikki was nervous about the building stunt in this one - wait til the next one. Ooohhh... Great video!
This one took the criticisms folks had with 2 to heart.
It's what hooked me back into the series.
Shit was dope!
Wow Nikki I’m so glad i wasn’t the only one who recognized Jesse when i first watched this
I seen the first movie when i was a kid and of course didnt appreciate it.
But i just watched MI3 through rogue nation right before the last movie hit theaters and i gotta say man i was missing out!
These movies are so much fun and tom cruise has balls of steel for all the insane stunts he does.
Tom cruise truly wants to make the best movies for the audience.
23:03 It's funny because... as someone who did get into a traffic accident in Italy... I can actually confirm that Italian drivers are never this nice or polite if they discover you're the cause of stopping traffic. XD
