Fun fact, in the novel she uses a battle axe that's laser-cut from the wing of a decommissioned fighter jet. After resetting so many times she started to favor a melee weapon because it never runs out of ammo.
It was marketed early as "Live. Die. Repeat." 24:12. 1 thing people are often confused about at the ending of the film is that because Cage/Cruise and J Squad launched their attack several hours BEFORE the entire surprise invasion took place, and Cage got covered in the Omega's blood he was able to regain the ability to rewind time 1 day again like when he got covered in the Alpha's blood. So, when he went back 1 day this time he ended up in the helicopter since that's where he was several hours before waking up in the military base, but because the Omega died all of the other Mimics died as well, so Cage was able to restart the day but the Mimics stayed dead. And, if Cage ever dies again he'll restart the day since he still has the Omega's power, unless he gets a blood transfusion again.
It's not Cage that resets time at all, it's always the Omega. Cage gains the blood of an Alpha and the Omega wants the Alphas to survive, so every time Cage dies the Omega thinks an Alpha has died, and the Omega then resets time. You can question whether it's the Omega or Cage himself that resets time in the end, but it seems implausible that it would be Cage since he's only a human. All the Mimics died because they were interlinked with the Omega through time, so it could be this explosive time reset that sends Cage back, only he doesn't die because he's not a Mimic.
Got to agree with ThisIsMyFullName If the Omega could reset the day with it's own death, It would have instantly. If Cage has this power, then who knows what will trigger him to reset the day. Car accident, Rita dying, Nightmares, could be anything.

26:12 No, I think because he killed the Omega the ability is lost completely. He just gets the one final restart, and that's all. He restarts that day and the aliens die instantly.
Its a alien species that mastered & manipulated Time as a weapon & device, it has played out numerous scenarios where they saw one human being that bring them demise....it saw the perfect way to preserve their essence, assimilate him to become the Omega.

This is one of the most under-rated movies ever made. It's downfall is that it's movie name which is alright isn't the most catchiest of all time. Now you know why it's so good though.
I love this movie. Plus it had such a video game aspect to it even though it’s based on a comic book. Like literally. You die, spawn, try get farther, die again, spawn repeat lol Imagine this as a game though lol it’d be dope
This movie is actually based on a Japanese Light Novel called "All You Need is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, which was then made into a Manga adaptation then into a movie.
excellent movie which I hope there's a sequel in the works too....I love that scene at 8:12 when he gets run over by the truck..bill paxton(R.I.P) was brilliant in this movie..."what the hell were you thinkin"..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
So fun, glad you liked it. Didn’t realize for a long time, the angel, was using part of a helicopter rotor as a sword. Bad ass. His youthful look…..Scientology. Seriously though…we would all look like that if we had a makeup crew takin care of the look. Every day before he walks out his front door he probably says…..ok people, today, I’m 32!! A thing I noticed too, when ever he does a sci-fi movie, he almost always solves the problem/situation with grenades. Lol. Hey….if it works….
Edge of Tomorrow is actually based on the novel/manga "All you need is kill", but it takes a bit of a different direction. Both the movie and the manga are very good! Would definitely recommend reading it if that's your thing.
I think this is a really good movie! I've seen it a little too many times - because it just has such a great mix of action, good character development and love. And then Emily Blunt is just amazing!
imagine if a popular videogame character remembered each time a game starts and each time it died. this movie gave me that horrorfying feeling. PS. great reaction. love your content.
26:10 My guess is that that last time he died (when killing the omega), he just got some final bit of time resetting power from its blood, and he somehow, maybe inadvertently, reset it to before everything (being ordered to go into combat, getting arrested, etc.) happened. But since the omega (and the rest of the 'one organism' - alphas and the other mimics) is now dead, there will be no resetting anymore after this. When he dies, hopefully of old age, he'll just die and won't end up back in the helicopter. Anyway, the best thing about this last reset is that Rita and the whole of J squad are still alive.
This is another Cruise movie that I wasn't sure I'd like but absolutely loved. Your reactions are great and so entertaining. Thanks for the time you take to do these for us.
10:15: "First of all, this is a terrific presentation." Cruise is so entertaining in this movie. He's like a more comical version of his uncool dad character in "War of the Worlds."
This movie is unbelievably good. The script is so well written and the acting is stellar. Whoever added the title really messed up and undersold the movie. I hope more people discover this gem now and this becomes the classic it deserves to be.
This movie and oblivion are 2 of my favorite tom cruise movies. And they both came out in 2013 and 2014. You guys have to watch oblivion. Such a great movie with a lot of twists
The eating of playing cards is Bill Paxton (sergeant) literally making the soldiers become the “masters” of their own fate by making them be one with their hand or “fate”
I like even though its an action movie, it's an against type performance for Tom Cruise. Normally his action heroes are brave and skilled and smart. His character here, for a good chunk of the movie, is a slimey, sniveling, weak coward. I wish he'd do more roles like this.
I love this movie so so so much. It's kind of weird to call Tom Cruise underrated, but the first half shows off his underappreciated comedic talent and timing. Doug Liman has a hand for it ... American Made has some really funny moments, too.
I saw this one in he theaters and loved everything about it. They are actually working on a second one now so it seems which would be cool to see what they deal with this time around because everything is different now. I love Emily Blunt and ya she was amazing here for sure.
Similar to Groundhog Day, not only does Cage have to relive each day over and over, he has to change as a person to advance. In the beginning, he really was a coward, but as he gradually realized he couldn't run away from it, he manned up and started to do what needed to be done. Good job by the writers and Cruise to show this character development.

This is one of the most under-rated movies ever made. It's downfall is that it's movie name which is alright isn't the most catchiest of all time. Now you know why it's so good though.
I love this movie. Plus it had such a video game aspect to it even though it’s based on a comic book. Like literally. You die, spawn, try get farther, die again, spawn repeat lol
Imagine this as a game though lol it’d be dope
Now we're waiting for Edge 2!
This movie is actually based on a Japanese Light Novel called "All You Need is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, which was then made into a Manga adaptation then into a movie.
They made an animated movie of the actual novel? Oh, now I have to find that.
@@gregsteele806 No they made a Manga - Japanese comic of the Light Novel. The movie im talking about is this one theyr watching
@@Fantom1080-u6o Darn it. Thanks for the info.
A criminally underrated brilliant movie. Tom n Emily were brilliant
This movie is criminally underrated.
This is one of my favorite movies. Just watched it couple weeks ago. Your reactions are fantastic haha
It’s cool how after a while he can just cut to the chase in any conversation
excellent movie which I hope there's a sequel in the works too....I love that scene at 8:12 when he gets run over by the truck..bill paxton(R.I.P) was brilliant in this movie..."what the hell were you thinkin"..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Was such a unique and fantastic sci-fi film. Surprised the hell out of me because I saw almost nothing advertised about it.
The advertising and marketing really let this movie down.
Edge of Tomorrow is actually based on the novel/manga "All you need is kill", but it takes a bit of a different direction. Both the movie and the manga are very good! Would definitely recommend reading it if that's your thing.
If you guys did not know this movie is based on a light novel named "All You Need Is Kill" and I heard is a little different from this movie
It's quite different, and depressing as hell, Still an outstanding novel though, well worth a read.
Man, how is this movie 8 years old already? That's as old as Big was when Video Power was on the air.
I think this is a really good movie! I've seen it a little too many times - because it just has such a great mix of action, good character development and love.
And then Emily Blunt is just amazing!
One of my favorites!
This movie was so highly underrated! Just love it and Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt were awesome, great cast and story!
imagine if a popular videogame character remembered each time a game starts and each time it died. this movie gave me that horrorfying feeling.
PS. great reaction. love your content.
You can tell Bill Paxton had so much fun filming this movie. "Here they come! Mean as hell and thick as grass!" RIP King.
Lol is that scientist guy "Loche" from Game of Thrones? The one who cut Jamie Lannister's hand off?
Yeah, that's him. He also got his neck snapped by Hodor.
Amo esa película, que bueno que hicieron una reacción ❤️👏🏻👏🏻
Such a good movie. I really want a sequel.
I watched this movie recently so it was fresh in my mind. I guessed so many "Let's Go"s in this reaction. LOVE IT! Keep it up.
DAMM good movie i absolutely want a sequel RIGHT NOW!! Live Die Repeat great movie tagline.
Before watching: ooooooohhhh, I love this movie, so hyped!
After watching: As always I thoroughly enjoyed watching this reaction!!
Groundhog Day is one of my favorite movies of all time. Edge of Tomorrow takes the concept up a notch or two and does it well.
This movie is easily top 3 greatest of all time imo.
RIP Bill!
This is such an underrated movie. Glad you two loved it!
Oblivion is another solid Tom Cruise sci-fi venture if you all are ever interested.
Great reaction guys! One of my most favorite movies! More people need to see this! And I can't wait for a Sequel!!!
This is a top 5 movie for me!
I’m loving these movie reactions
I love this movie so much! Emily Blunt is a badass!
I LOVE that line. It is just what his character would say with his civilian career. Such a great tiny character facet.
Groundhog Day meets Starship Trooper. I love this movie
It’s a fantastic film . Great pacing and interesting.
I like how he gets saluted at the end .
This movie is unbelievably good. The script is so well written and the acting is stellar.
Whoever added the title really messed up and undersold the movie.
I hope more people discover this gem now and this becomes the classic it deserves to be.
This is one of the few movies I’ve watched once that I’ve really loved but could never come around to watching it again for some reason
This movie and oblivion are 2 of my favorite tom cruise movies. And they both came out in 2013 and 2014. You guys have to watch oblivion. Such a great movie with a lot of twists
Rest in Peace Bill Paxton! Great movie. watched it many times.
Recently watched this for the first time and loved it. Looking forward to your reaction
The eating of playing cards is Bill Paxton (sergeant) literally making the soldiers become the “masters” of their own fate by making them be one with their hand or “fate”
*I remember this was supposed to get a sequel. It was in the works for a few years then never heard of again. Too bad. This was an awesome film*
I was obsessed with this movie back in my sophomore year of high school.
I imagine his character dying at a ripe old age and then resetting on the plane again.
You two are awesome! Thanks so much!
I love their reacts so much! it makes me fall in love with the film all over again!
This is a very underrated movie!! Glad you guys liked it!!
