React to the Spider-man Spider-Verse movies🙏 Across the Spider-Verse is literally the best movie that came out this year, and this is coming from a hard core Mission Impossible fan. 😂
what's really scary about the ocean is that we as humans only know about 10% of the Ocean it's the 90% of unknown that brings a cold shiver down one's spine.
I don't why but i laughed when that kid at the sea got so calm and ate his lollipop after the shark got distracted while everyone else was freaking out , it was like a reward for him 🤣
Pippet is the name of the dog that was in Jaws. I believe it was a black lab. It was just in one beach scene where some guy was calling for his missing dog. There was a stick floating in the water he was playing catch with. Here, to pay homage, the named that tiny little dog Pippet too.
I like that while this movie has some of the outrageous and comedic moments that so many shark movies do, it also has grounded characters with heartfelt moments. Several of the deaths in this movie are able to succeed at making you feel sad for the characters
I remember reading this book after getting grounded and it was my fathers kind of big proud moment. I sentence my kid to his room for two weeks so he just starts reading; and reading a book called 'MEG' It took them 30 years to make it into a movie. Glad he made it from there to the theater. Miss ya pop.
Like many others have said, the dog was a nod to Jaws. My guess is that the dog survives because he was so small, he just got brushed aside by the wave rather than getting swallowed God i love watching Nikki's reactions (and watching Steven knowing she's going to react and watching/waiting for it himself😂😂)
The Monterrey Bay Aquarium in CA has a viewing window so you can look into the ocean and see the wildlife from underwater, then walk out the door and onto the street. Much safer than an underwater rig in the middle of the ocean.
When Nikki stated her fears at the beginning of the reaction I immediately thought "They've GOT to do "The Abyss"! It's a terrific movie but Steven would probably have to do a little handholding. 💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊💙
The Abyss isn't scary per se, and it certainly doesn't have very many jump scares other than the obvious ones you can see coming a mile away. I think Nikki might have had an easier time with that one. Now a movie like, The Sphere or Deep Star Six, might be more fun for them to watch for scares lol Also if we really wanna freak Nikki out where she will NEVER go in the water again - they should watch Pirahna 3D lol
Hi was so looking forward to the sequel, and I have to say I was a little let down. Which I don’t say very often but yeah, no I wish they had left it alone, or that the sequel have been better put together.
i just love how nikki freaks out when she's watching horror movies or the meg and Steven's laughing. it can be so funny. But great reaction. I just watched strays, which was so funny.
Another recommendation (but NOT for your kids!) is 'Underwater' with Kristen Stewart. You guys would hate it but it is one of the best horror movies I've ever seen. Face your fears - I dare you to watch it! 😄
I lost a bet and had to watch Sharknado with my niece. The bet was only for the first ten minutes but I just kept watching. It was exactly as bad as expected but I ended up watching two sequels too. I highly recommend it for mindless entertainment and would love to watch you guys react to it. Did anyone else watch that movie?
I was bedridden for a week and forced to watch 1,2, and 3. Previously I had refused to watch them, so my kids took the opportunity to force me (even took the remote from me). I was pleasantly entertained at the camp of it.
Sharknado is a cinematic masterpiece. A work of art. I don't know how it didn't win several Oscars. 😂😂😂 seriously though, it's just a fun, over the top, hilarious movie.
Based on the 1997 novel of the same name by Steve Alten. A lot of directors were considered for the project between 2002 and 2015, which includes Eli Roth, Jan De Bont, and Guillermo Del Toro.
This is my favorite type of movie I went into this with really low expectations and ended up having a really fun time. The exact opposite of a lot of superhero movies lately.
So good to see you two react to this one! Here's hoping we'll put "King Arthur" (2004) and "Dragonheart" (1996) on the roster soon, they're great ones!
Ugh the sequel is HORRIBLE though. Even the special effects are a step down from this one, and don't get me started on the insanity that is "the plot" lol
bro i love watching movies w yall dude 🤣🤣 i swear we have the same reactions lol i love the meg bro its perfect for a friday movie night or a suprise film w the bros lmaooo im ready for the next one
Omg! Me, too! I'm terrified of drowning. I'm petrified of deep water and going over bridges that go over deep water. Odd that I like watching under water scary stuff. And I agree, the ocean is horrifying. I could never work any ocean jobs.
7:58 Nikki is 100% correct here. Imagine how you would react if you were chilling in your house and a shark walked into your living room. I'm totally Team Meg in these movies.
@@Zarab923 The ratio between humans killing sharks and sharks killing humans is literally ten million to one. Make no mistake, we are the villains on this planet.
@@SilentBob731correct! Humans kill an estimated 100 million sharks every year. That rounds out to almost 274,000 sharks every day, or over 11,000 sharks every hour, or about three sharks every second. So just think - during this reaction video, almost 11000 sharks were killed. Movies like Jaws and the Meg are fun for entertainment but also unfortunately feed this kind of behavior. 😢🦈
You guys should see the news, a couple days ago they discovered a huge tentacle thing in the deepest darkest ocean it looks like one of those face huggers from the movie Alien.
I Can't wait for you to see the sequel. it turns up the insanity to 11. This movie I had been waiting for literally over 20 years. the first book in the Meg series was published in the 90's and the author, Steve Alten, had been pushing hard for a film version to get made. Sadly every time it kept ending up in development hell. It got close to being made once, but then Deep Blue Sea came out, and not only stepped on this films toes, but also failed at the box office, which killed development. Finally they were able to get this made, and now a sequel, and hopefully the rest of the series gets made. I think the film does a good job of adapting the book. there are alot of changes, but most are either not that big of a deal, or in many cases, actually made the story better. the ex-wife character was changed completely. she was an utter b**** in the book, and you were glad when got eaten. (the dog pippin actually belonged to her in the book, and i THINK it survived, too, tho i could be wrong) the "twist" was kind of there. in the book it was originally jonas, and terry's brother that go to the trench (terry was what sunyin's character was named in the book, they made her and her family chinese for the film cause they funded the movie). they in the gliders that you see, tho they were tethered to the ship. they get attacked, the brother gets killed and the meg gets tangled in the wreckage of his sub as it gets pulled up the surface. just before hitting that layer is when the much larger meg comes in and starts eating the tangled one. the warm blood from the smaller meg protecting it from the colder water above the layer. thats how it gets free. the other change, which i wish they kept in this movie (tho its mentioned in the sequel), the reason the shark had been so ravenous was that it was a she, and she was pregnant. she gives birth just before the final confrontation, and the book ends with a scene of them capturing the baby (Angel) to take back to their oceanographic institute. Angel (named Haiqi in the sequel film) ends up being one of my favorite things in the series. I get why they cut the scene, because they weren't sure they were going to get to make a sequel, but it still would have been nice to see it in this film.
Nikki for October: "The Towering Inferno" (1974) all star ensemble cast, no CGI "The Eiger Sanction" (1975) directed by Clint Eastwood, no CGI "Where Eagles Dare" (1968)
Hi Nikki and Steven I really love your reaction to the Meg movie🦈 It's my favorite shark movie and I hope you both watched the Meg 2 the trench next , Please tell us you're watching it next !!!!

We adored the Mermaid series. It’s something else. I just loved the passion those people have, even though it’s kind of strange, but who’s to judge. To each his own. I don’t have that much passion about my job for sure. I did think this movie was a lot of fun. I expected it to be totally obnoxious but it surprised me. I’m kind of excited to see the next one. 😮
In case no one else points it out, the portrayal of the Megalodon is far bigger than it was in real life. And if you watch the sequel, it was not around in the time of the Dinosaurs. And as a final word. Since the only evidence of it's existence are it's teeth. There is no evidence whatsoever that Megalodon resembles a Great White Shark. Which is what everyone assumes, since both have teeth which are triangular in shape and have serrated edges.
This movie (and the sequel) ignores sooo much basic science. For instance, you don't have to equalize air pressures when diving in a submarine. But you really have to just do a Frozen and let it go.
@@acdchook Like many other films about the ocean. Even documentaries on Discovery like to exaggerate. Very often, big studios play on tallasophobia. For me, after 2 years of studying the basics of hydrobiology at the University - It was a funny comedy tho.
the opening scene of the sequel is there because it was originally the opening scene of the first book, but they didn't use it for the movie and some people missed it being there.
I love how they named the dog Pippin. The dog in JAWS was Pippin but he died when the Kintner boy got ate I think. This movie was surprisingly enjoyable. As soon as a kid or animal shows up Nikki's face always gets concerned and sad.😂❤
It's kind of funny you mentioned dolphins, they can actually be more aggressive than sharks and have been known to kill some and also try to um..."force themselves" on humans. Smaller sharks are much safer to swim with lol
I have a movie recommendation for you to react to: QUARANTINE (2008), a really cool Found Footage-style horror film, with intense, brutal moments and a disturbing ending, you're going to enjoy it.
Have you ever seen rec it is a copy of quarantine also really good I mean it follows quarantine to a tea Rec actually came first funny I thought quarantine was first
@@bloodblossom8435they prob recommend Quarantine over Rec because if i’m not mistaken Steven has slight dyslexia so reading the subtitles would suck for a Spanish film lol
Fun Fact: "Pippin" in the name of the original dog that got taken in Jaws. Also the little fat boy is supposed to represent the boy that got taken on the raft in the same movie.
This was actually the last movie I saw in the theater before Covid hit, and it was amazing. I jumped out of my seat so often my dad just kept laughing at me. Because some of those startling scenes when that shark is in your face in the theater it’s intense and who doesn’t love Jason Statham lol.
Nikki you’re not alone😭 octonauts taught me about the spook fish and it’s not nearly as cute as they made it🤣 also Claude the coconut crab being so sweet but also probably being the one that ate Amelia earheart is something I think about too often😭🤣
It's ironic--before Statham was an actor, he was actually an Olympic diver. If you want to see a more serious deep sea horror movie, check out Underwater. It's really good, but got way less acclaim than it deserved.
Six years before this, a film called "Safe" came out. It had Jason Statham protecting a young Chinese girl being hunted by Chinese Triad, Russian Mafia, and corrupt cops. Great action film.
"The Abyss" (1989) written & directed by James Cameron. Watch the extended "Director's Cut" "Das Boot Extended Director's Edition" (1981) WW2, watch with subtitles, not dubbed "Grey Lady Down" (1978)
Watch "Phenomenon" 1996 starring John Travolta and "What Dreams May Come" 1998 starring the late, great Robin Williams. One right after the other but watch them in that order for the greatest emotional impact.
You can get a sub with live occupants down to the trench and back, but a hull to hull transfer at that depth is ridiculously impossible. There isn't a docking collar on Earth that would work under that kind of pressure.
Fishing for shark fins has been going on for decades . They kill them just for the fins. It is a huge business, mostly in the Oriental. The shops there are full of thousands of fins.

Started watching you guys because of SOA but now I enjoy watching your guys reactions too other things keep up the work
It's kind of funny you mentioned dolphins, they can actually be more aggressive than sharks and have been known to kill some and also try to um..."force themselves" on humans. Smaller sharks are much safer to swim with lol
I have a movie recommendation for you to react to: QUARANTINE (2008), a really cool Found Footage-style horror film, with intense, brutal moments and a disturbing ending, you're going to enjoy it.
Have you ever seen rec it is a copy of quarantine also really good I mean it follows quarantine to a tea Rec actually came first funny I thought quarantine was first
i absolutely loved Rec (the og Quarantine) but i completely understand you recommending it, especially with Steve having slight problems with captions
Love Love Love this Movie❤❤❤ Can't wait to watch the 2nd one
This was actually the last movie I saw in the theater before Covid hit, and it was amazing. I jumped out of my seat so often my dad just kept laughing at me. Because some of those startling scenes when that shark is in your face in the theater it’s intense and who doesn’t love Jason Statham lol.
The little remote controlled ball the girl was playing with is made by Sphero. They're pretty awesome. I have the BB-8 they made.
I live 20 minutes from Galveston and grew up here so I’ve spend SO MUCH time at the beach. The rip currents and bacteria are what scared me most. 😂
they need to watch the meg 2
You have a cat called Finan! That is the best thing ever! I love that 💗 I am such a fan of The Last Kingdom and Finan was always one of my favourites
Nikki you’re not alone😭 octonauts taught me about the spook fish and it’s not nearly as cute as they made it🤣 also Claude the coconut crab being so sweet but also probably being the one that ate Amelia earheart is something I think about too often😭🤣
I'm 100% on board with Nikki!!!
All of those ppl at the beach in inner tubes look like a bowl of Meg fruity pebbles 😂
Anyone else catch the call backs to Jaws? Dog names were the same, little boy begging to go back into the water, and the shark dragging a dock.
Pippin..............aaaahhhhh got me rolling on the floor 😂😂😂
I was waiting for you to say What’s up Reapers 😂😂. Then I thought, yeah they’re doing that for SOA, not every damn thing they do LOL
😂 love the reference to ‘Pipin’ the dog, from the dog in the first jaws movie 😂🦈
So many huge underwater explosions. At that kind of depth you would get a small explosion and a big crunch.
I would so love to sit around and watch movies with you two! LOL
I love when Nikki answer their dumb questiones😂
"The Abyss" (1989) written & directed by James Cameron. Watch the extended "Director's Cut"
"Das Boot Extended Director's Edition" (1981) WW2, watch with subtitles, not dubbed
"Grey Lady Down" (1978)
Oh yes the Abyss is awesome
if God intended us to go high in the air or deep in the watern he would have given us wings or fins, the perfectionist that he is
This movie made me fall in love with Jason Statham lol and I love the sequel too!! Especially the return of Pippen 😂
Absolutely love Jason Statham, and this was my introduction to him as well
Great reaction to The Meg!
Watch "Phenomenon" 1996 starring John Travolta and "What Dreams May Come" 1998 starring the late, great Robin Williams. One right after the other but watch them in that order for the greatest emotional impact.
homeboy didn't get eaten though , hes probably just chilling in the stomach sitting on the otther shark it ate. lol!!😂
Nikki has a big caring heart ❤️ I respect that
Jason Statham reminds me of a song. There once was a man from Venus, who's head was shaped like a P Enis.
Love this movie, miss just action packed Giant monster movies (that's not Godzilla related)
You can get a sub with live occupants down to the trench and back,
but a hull to hull transfer at that depth is ridiculously impossible.
There isn't a docking collar on Earth that would work under that kind of pressure.
Fishing for shark fins has been going on for decades . They kill them just for the fins. It is a huge business, mostly in the Oriental. The shops there are full of thousands of fins.
As a 12year old that moved in elementary I loved Octonauts
