- two easy songs to learn by Alexi Laiho, the first is 'Blooddrunk' and the second is 'Hellhounds on my trail' both from the 2008 album 'blooddrunk' got the video in a magazine called 'Guitar World'
(this is like my second video so correct me if the description is wrong)

You know I've always liked him but never really knew what a great guy he was ,I watch his videos and I like him even more , I wish he was still here .His attitude , his presence, and just the way he played he was humble and has his very own style . I could go on but what a nice person he was . I'm gonna cry now . And I mean it !
When I met him on my 19th birthday he was very down to earth and kind, gave me a hug, first famous musician I met and it was a great experience very nice dude.
Saw them live in SF back in 09 and im still feeling the impact of being blown away...

I know this comment is 8 years old lol, but the black nails have actually helped me play live easier because it's easier to track where my fingers are

@Retsiness The key is still in C, it doesn't mater what tuning its in, it could be in drop Z. its still C
One thing I find funny is that Alexi doesn't down pick when he palm mutes the low E, I've been taught to downpick for more power and rythmn but hey I'm not gonna argue with Alexi
@cissystrutter he has never been drunk on a concert, because he dnt wanna disrespect his fans. and he has been injured lots of times so thats why he have sometimes fucked up live concerts or then he hasb een sick, usually they're pretty good live. but theese lessons are usually sloppy played

@Phailure365 we will see on the new album, but i think you're right. some say hes better drunk, some say hes better sober, i dont know, i think he has his good and bad days :D like everyone has

DR strings 10-50 for Open D, and DR strings 10-56 in Drop C =)
Well well if you add a bass guitar and drums, it sounds good in whole mix... The fact, you do not like the eq of the amp does not mean it is bad. I pretty much like the heavy Mid set sound, while other like to play scooped. Still, at the end it is player, that matters.

can u tell which string size u use for that tuning? and what u usually play (afaik whole D no drop) with which strings? edit: hes dead, can anyone else tell plz? thanks.
Alexi uses 9-42 or 10-56 string gauges from DR strings but if you see his rig rundown or several interviews, he mixes up the string gauges that fit his liking (can't remember what were the specific gauges).. Look it up... As for tunings, for these two songs, he utilizes the Drop C (from the low strings CGCFAD) tuning... Over the years he used several different tunings from C# Standard, D Standard, C Standard and most recently, Drop B tunings... For more info about his gears and guitar specs and set ups, search for his rig rundown... Hope this helps...
