  • Video does not do justice to the exhaust sound. For a twin, it sounds orgasmic in person. I have heard all exhaust options for the RS 660 and Tuono 660 and the SC Project CR-T is by far the best sounding exhaust. With that said, the CRT is not the best option for performance. If maximum performance is the goal, the SC1-R is the way to go.

    How do you like the Rizoma mirrors? Are they actually useable at speed? They look pretty steady in the vid.

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer them over the stock mirrors. They vibrate less at speed. You get narrower viewing angles but the stock mirrors vibrate so much at speed that you can’t see anything even with their wider viewing angles. Not to mention that it makes the bike look awesome. The only downside is that because they are positioned lower than the stock, you have to lift your hands to se directly behind you. But you get used to it.

    • @chrisdavis7533
      @chrisdavis7533 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ALFAVITAGA im on the fence. I definitely love the look, and I completely agree the stock mirrors are basically unusable at freeway speeds, so any functionality at all would be an improvement.
      What did you do about your turn signals? I believe i saw someone mention race ecu tune could unlock the integrated headlight signals, but I dont recall if that was soecific to rsv4, tuono, tuareg or all of the above.

    I’ve heard it might be a little too much and could be obnoxious for just street riding, what do you think?

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If you daily ride your bike and commute, I don’t recommend the CRT. For commuting I wouldn’t say it’s obnoxious for the rider that much, as much as it is for the people around you. Plus when you commute you don’t want to be looking out for police on every corner, since this will give you a ticket depending on where you live and the leniency of the cops. I only ride on weekends at the canyons so I wouldn’t choose any other exhaust. Its the perfect choice for me.

I have not confirmed with any other RS660 owner that the racing belly pan fits the stock fairings. How is it that You dont use clutch? Awesome ride and bike!

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The RS660 comes with a quick shifter/auto blipper. You only need to use the clutch when you are at a stop. Once you are rolling you can shift gears with no clutch. Sometimes they don’t fully engage, if you notice at 2:36 the gear didn’t fully engage. Its not always the bikes fault. Sometimes it is rider error. For the upshifts a lot of times it could be caused from not fully lifting the gear lever. For the downshifts its more common to be the bikes fault. Either way if you are not racing and maximum reliability is not a concern, the QS is all the money. I know racers that don’t like it and go the traditional way using clutch.

    • @ALFAVITAGA
      @ALFAVITAGA  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very loud! If you want to enjoy a calm slow ride, enjoying the scenery or commute in the city etc, the CRT is not the best option. I mostly ride only Sunday’s at the canyons and I ride like I’m being chased. So i wan’t the meanest loudest exhaust possible to feel that extra adrenaline rush. For me the CRT is perfect, but for others it might not be. A good alternative is the SC1-R. Which is interchangeable with the CRT. If cost is not an issue you can buy the CRT for when you want that extra punch and also buy the SC1-R muffler to swap it for those quieter days.

      Short answer yes. I think this is the perfect first bike. This is my first bike too. At this video I had my RS660 for about 4-5 months. With that said, its not that simple. Just because this is a perfect first bike, it doesn’t mean it will be the perfect first bike for everyone. It takes a lot of maturity to know your limits and have a good mind and throttle control. These are traits that apply to all motorcycle regardless of engine size. You can be a reckless rider on a 300cc or you can be a mature rider on a 1000cc. The real question is not if a bike is a good first bike. But if the rider is ready for any bike.

      Anywhere I would go with my CRT, heads would turn. When they saw it was an RS660 they would tell me they thought it was an RSV4. I don’t know if you have heard the CRT in person but its the best sounding exhaust for the RS660. Nothing comes close to it. Its not just loud, it also changes the boring stock tone of the bike. It makes it sound more like a liter bike rather than a 660. But then again sound is subjective. If you have heard it in person and still don’t like it then I respect that. Thats why they make other exhausts options too. But if you gather 100 people and rev the bike, 98 of them will agree that the CRT sounds the best.

      Thanks for commenting. Sound is subjective. For me inline 4 or 3 sound good but boring. Part of the reason I didn’t get an r6 was this. I agree that V2s are controversial sounding bikes, especially if you judge them over a video. If you hear the RS660 with a CRT live you would change your mind. I was standing in the same position with you before I got the RS660. I thought it was a beautiful bike that sounds like crap. Until I heard it live with an SC Project. For my likings the order of bike engines go inline 4 & 3, V2, CP1, V4. But thats the beauty of bikes. We can choose whatever we like. I’d rather be on two wheels and not like the sound than not be on two wheels at all. So at the end of the day I would choose anything.
