What would be SIIIC is if dropped items got buried over time and could be found. Very cool way to make finding actually valuable items possible, and it's kinda realistic. Could just restart despawn timers, one timer worth above ground, 1-2 timers worth below. Could be pretty fun to run around decimated big bases with a detector long after big raids.
@@electronichq974 To cater the zergs and lazy groups even more - like they have done since the last couple years thanks to OTV and the "big streamers" who took the hype and wanted a game which suited their "casual and easy" playstyle.
@N3ON1993 exactly. They were my only defence as a mostly solo player against barrages of MLRS'. Limiting the number of SAM sites that can be placed would've made more sense.
The night light is interesting. Maybe add a dynamic where a player can shine a light in another's eyes so as to temporarily remove this adjustment, making the target player easier to kill due to being relatively blind
It would be cool to see a single rocket module for cars so the car can be placed within line of sight of a base and a single MLRS rocket can be loaded aimed and fired reloaded and fired again with enough time between reloads that the MLRS rockets can't be spammed. This would make MLRS rockets more valuable and add a different dynamic to raiding bases. It would also be useful if landmines were used primarily to damage vehicles. I also don't see the metal detector being used all that much unless the loot was worth the risk of getting grubbed while metal detecting. Items like components and weapons with low or varying levels of durability from being buried

I do not play Rust, but I love watching this channel, and many Rust TH-camrs 😂 I have noticed though, that here recently, role-playing in this game has become God-Tier. I'm surprised gamers that don't play Rust, haven't already seen how many different things, and ways you can role-play with in this game. I'm sure a ton of OG Rust fans cant stand how Rust is changing, but from the outside looking in, it looks insanely fun to play.
That's not fair to sky lanterns, because I actually use them all the time for funsies. I don't play Rust much anymore because the offline raid meta has become AIDs in the past year, but I used to always run around outpost or bandit camp at night spamming sky lanterns and fireworks.
may be a good idea to clarify that you meant LAUNCH sam sites not shooting down mlrs, instead of the normal ones lol had me jumping out of my skin in panic
I've notice in the past if you no clip around players in the dark they have their own darkness dome bubble on them. I think that is how they "fixed" people using filters to see at night. So maybe they intend to lighten up that bubble?
the field of view at night suggestion was mentioned in a rather popular and successful thread in the r/playrust subreddit roughly 2-3 weeks ago following the January QoL update announcement when everybody changed their focus from complaining to making productive and constructive commentaries and suggestions for the game-so you can see directly in front of your face but not enemies and buildings in the distance, ergo something that gamma filters wouldn't be able to enhance since the visual field would have a rather quick drop-off radius in the player's FoV
Metal detector might be cool is broken vehicles drop a considerable amount of metal, or if dropped weapons go "underground" instead of despawning if not picked up.
Weapons should absolutely be able to be dug up. This is a warzone. People can die in all sorts of ways, and if nobody picks up their stuff, it gets overgrown and buried.
Also I thought I was reading the commits page wrong but I thought the MLRS rockets were not going to be able to be shot down by Sam sites at launch site
not really, I mean 30 bodies is always enough, plus rockets are always flown after fob is built, only thing back packs are useful for are solo pure ore tea farming.
Imo the whole survival system needs a huge overhaul, you can go days without eating or drinking from full thirst and hunger with no punishment, there should at least be some focus on hunter gathering and/or growing for own use and not to just trade for scrap ? Furthermore whenever it’s too hot, cold, bleeding and wet you just get red bars displaying exactly that, why not more emphasis on bleeding appearing on screen and blood trails, a rumbling stomach noise and colours fading as you slowly die from extreme thirst, I know some of these features are already in the game but they’re just not exaggerated enough for people to actually care, and the red bars displaying negative symptoms just ruins the immersion. The game feels a lot more like a survival fps now and more a loot simulator, you can spawn in farm the road (because everyone is in helicopters, trains and underground) to outpost, recycle and then buy all the items you need for scrap and sulfur via a drone network and then learn the BP’s at Outpost, I was a legacy player and I was clocking 110 hours every 2 weeks for a few years but the game feels unrecognisable, the idea of adding so many unnecessary things no one asked for and not putting work into areas like survival mechanics, game stability and keeping up with latest game engine versions just seems questionable to me ? Does anyone not feel the same way ? Or have we just gone from one Rust generation to the next with the OG’s now leaving and making way for a new generation that grew up with skins, loot boxes and pretty colours and are content with that as standard practice now ??
Don't really see an issue with finding an AK this way, aslong as the % chance is very low, considering how easy it is to just fly to a monument and get all progression within an hour
It would be cool if metal items that despawn in fact furrow in the ground and remain for the remainder of the wipe. So you could go search for weapons in zones where people fight a lot and find AKs and stuff.
I'm sure that if I played on a vanilla server finding a can of beans would be awesome! But I'll bet if you can make the metal detector you're probably not fiending for a tuna sandwich.
