i'd like a parkour mechanic update or atleast climbing mechanic (for those pesky mountains, wishful thinking though because that will never be implemented in rust. Also update that makes speargun a usable weapon on land, maybe adding low grade to it or something to make it work, oh and underwater mines for submarine defense and high wall/gate building skins or even adding a metal variant will be interesting.
Yeah no.. carrying around high walls is bad enough but now people can carry around a base in PVP. It even comes with a lock preinstalled?

problem. Im a frog boot man myself but the exwife burned my password list. Ive had to re buy everything and rebuild my digital identity. how does someone like me prove theyre and OG? we cant. pick up the peices in the typical rust fasion and keep moving forward.

Shadowfrax, it's been a cracking ten years [albeit I just missed out on Legacy], but I'd just like to thank you for your service over these past years, and for helping keep us updated on the inner workings of a game we love - albeit for sometime I stopped playing but always kept ontop of what was happening because of your videoes! If I could send you all the pies - I would good sir!
As for what I'd like to see in the game: Barbed Wire [as a multi-functioning build item].
Could be used to beef up your defences [placing them like you would christmas lights] - or - could be used for agriculture/farming animals by encapturing them.
Something for both PVPers and Roleplayers.
Though, a trapdoor wouldn't go a miss either! Quite simply - a double door frame on a different axis - for that would definitely please the trapbase creators/game makers [squid game anyone? :D]
Where, if further food mechanics are to be brought in the game [and getting closer to making pies :D], then a chicken coop where you can catch/store chickens and gain eggs over time [x amount of chickens, over y amount of time, produces z amount of eggs/resources], and could use chicken scat as fertilizer [alongside horse poop].

Which, even if true, would only add to Shadowfrax's respectability - that - he continued to update us even as a service to others: despite not liking it. I find that more commendable, and nothing to detract from. what I've also seen is that they fixed the reloading on the chainsaw speed, and the ragdoll deaths don't glitch anymore.
I wish legacy players got a reward , like a tattoo on their character or something.
I would like to have an electric fountain, that can be placed like an oil refinery !

I've been playing rust since it's early Alpha builds, and Rust has definitely come a long way since those days, and the only map was Hapis.
I remember when Bears and Wolves were once called Rad Bear and Rad Wolf, and colored red, they were super aggressive too they'd go for you at 10m of approaching you, they were also super buggy too, because they could run through cliffs and rocks, and certain monuments use to be called Rad Town, there were no supermarkets, or caves to speak of, you also had roads as well which spanned the entire island in a loop. And one of the best places to build was in a crevice between two mountains on both sides of an intersecting road. As you were able to build on roads, so people would build large Wooden Walls with Wooden Gates, along with spike barricades placed around the front and back entrances, and of course their base built in this little compound with tall towers on either side to shoot from.
The metal bases looked so different to what they are now, you use to need Sheet Metal in order to have a Sheet Metal base, and you could build iron bars. Also Tool Cupboards weren't even a thing then either I don't think, so anyone could build up and try to get into your base through an open window if you had one. It was pretty common back then to see people build massive square metal tower bases.
I do wish Facepunch gave us access to Legacy Rust just to show what it use to be like.
10 years already! Congrats to *the team* and thanks, Shadowfrax, for still doing this. It's always appreciated and it can't be stated often enough!
What is my rust wishlist:
Pre-HDRP style trees that block vision more effectively. Especially for the tundra trees.
More bullet drop for the AK.
A choke mod for a shotguns (slightly less pellet damage, less pellet spread).
Construction or a wall tier made out of bone fragments.
A full sized semi fragile and clear window wall that pops into a double door frame.
A deployable mortar.
A mountable machinegun module to deploy on a car flatbed (with some kind of rudimentary anti aircraft sight system).
Small buildable spots in metro OR train cars that can be claimed for building and secured with doors. Claimed train cars cannot be locked into locomotives without hitting a switch inside.
Might aswell it call “ RUST: COD experience”

I'd like to see a steam powered power generator!
One that will accept charcoal, water and car parts. It would give more power, the better car parts you insert. You can add some industrial piping, so you can add more charcoal from boxes, a water-hose slot and possibly a switch slot (just like in the furnace)

On wipe day, had a duo team surround my base with 30+ of these these blocking me from coming in and out of my area.
they should do a shiny gold / diamond encrusted skin for the hqm building tier...for peacocking your base even harder

Love the old legacy shack and furnace. I didn’t use the shack but saw a couple people using them I think it’s perfect way to get start on 600+ person server
I'd love to see more moonlit nights. I'm tired of being blind for a big portion of the game.
Gotta love starting fresh on a server at dusk!
I'd like to see recycling all happen at once per group of items - so for example - you put in 23 road signs in one slot and they recycle all at once.
They also changed the admin grant features. They all reset when the recent updates happened and soon as you grant a player Mod/Admin they don't have to log out and back in anymore to have it take effect.
"What would you like too see in the game next year?" Less cheaters (Alot less, like none!)
That won't happen, less cheaters sure but you have to remember the game is 10 years old, what 10 year old game has 0 cheaters? None, most games don't last 10+ years with the exception of online only games.

Imagine a rust server with the Halloween event, Christmas events, Easter events, etc. with all the special mobs and teleporters and etc. that would be the dream server

the new shack was a massive buff to small groups early game, no need to worry about constructing the whole base and making lots of noise, just plop it down

I'd like to see the CCTV system fixed, and the Midi inputs take live feed somehow. adding some back end support for just plugging in a guitar would be nice too. also tightening of build space limits next to rail and roads so you can build right next to the train and drive cars onto them. or build over roads without blocking them.

Nightlight sounds like a code name for an IR illuminator/laser, basically could be a flashlight that only those using night vision could see, might not be working properly bc it isn’t illuminating properly or it’s able to be seen outside of he nvgs

i feel like there need to be minor changes/update at starting times of a new wipe like the old barrack, server map shown on server browser these such changes may bring more active players to the game. To give reason to start a wipe.

Can't tell if it's intended for all the animals aggroing you outside the legacy shack... They won't leave either until you or it dies or leaves shack. You can actually kill the wolf as his head glitches through the wall, I know this is a bug 100%

I personally didn’t mind having to crouch while farming nodes, because now you’ll just see people wacking the air with their tools not even touching the node while farming.
I can't believe it, it's been 10 years since I've been into RUST without even playing it.
High tier (HQM) building skin would have been great with the brutalist, but now that it’s stone I’m hoping that the skin, if we get any, will be like salvaged tank parts-look. Its hard to think what sort of skin it should be but real life tanks arent just chunks of steel but has titanium, depleted uranium, ceramics and more - in layers to make it armoured against rockets etc. Colours should be dark green/blackish like a bradley, but obviously with white wings/text on it, they could go with a forest green, a dark brown/sand, a light brown/sand, a desert camo, snow camo(with black text and wings) and a navy grey and/or a blue skin(like some Lebanese tanks). Would be awesome with a base covered in old tank parts

They need to add a dirt bike two seater thats great for climbing up steep hills the snow mobile flopped so we need something smaller then the car but stronger then the horse and barbed wire.
Dude... I am so mad at whatever they did to some tools.... the stone axe and mace, and rock (that I've noticed so far) done have follow through. I'll be hitting something and next thing I know, I didn't hit anything because my tool stops short. Hitting street signs with Lucille just got so much more difficult.

I’d like to launch the nuke at the silo anywhere on the map it’s not as big Atherton mriv nukes in the bottom section but can wipe out about a quarter of the map or something but you have to find special launch code keys around the map and then when you enter the control room there’s a timer and a alert to other players that someone is trying to fire a nuke kinda like fallout 76 but better done

What would I like to see? AT NIGHT. lol they should just fix the darkness, or at least make it so you can see inside buildings in the daytime. Besides that I want them to get rid of the tech tree.

They gotta let you place wanted posters in monuments, and other places, so that people can see the posters in populated areas.

They should add a spike strip you could put on roads to stop cars but too prevent it from being too broken they decay after 30 min

They made watter playerground, they made air playerground now i want see them working on desert (some kind of oasis or something making it more fun, also bring new element in to snow... everyone living in green area.. rest of these places need focuse my opinion... new animals or plants wound be nice too.. what about option to plant trees? Rust has huge potentional to grow... we can see huge maps working even with such a huge amount of players....

As for what I'd like to see in the game? Something game-changing and absolutely epic. Maybe a perfect food that gives 100 Calories and 100 Water. Would need to be a filling foodstuff, with a saucy component. Something like maybe a few Steak and Ale pie. Or at the very least Cottage Pie. We have potatoes and meat. 20 Metal Frags for a pie dish, and then it can be baked along with meat and veg into various flavours of pie.
A kill-cam for the victim. So once I die, I can see the shot from the actual perspective of the shooter. I think that will shut up a lot of the "He could never have seen me / made that shot / etc."
An armoured engine module.
Less on Facepunch's side than the modding community, better MySQL support.
Get Nexus working nicely.
Up the team sizes in code. Stay the same in Vanilla, but give community servers the ability to natively support teams larger than 8.
Motorcycle. Need to speed nerf it? Make it a motorized bicycle.
