One very important thing is to use a good amount silicon slip spray on all the edge piping as it bonded to the vinyl in hot direct sunlight for me, and it wasn't a fun job trying to release it. Next year no problem with the spray.
It's really all about that level, smooth, and compacted base base as you said...The Intex Pools really are a pretty good deal for the money! I had a round one with a pump when my kiddos were younger. Even on what you think is a "good flat piece of ground", your pool can get wonky as it settles and the summer goes along. I like how your parents have a deck to dive platform. I'm sure the kids of all ages love it! Great video Brother!
Its really difficult, IMO. We mostly used our hands and feet but also used a toilet plunger in some bad areas. Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping in!
Did the sides of your pool stand up straight once it was full of water we just set up the 31.4 ×16 rectangle pool and the longer sides are very bowed in so just wondering when and if the will stand up straight?
We set ours up yesterday and it’s only about 1/3 full of water so far. The sides are bowing in really bad and the weight of the water is really pushing out at the bottom (like a spare tire)!? My husband is concerned the steel bars are going to break or the pool is going to cave in!? You briefly said “the sides will straighten out as you fill up”… Should we be concerned? TIA for your insight and video.
You are correct, the last 1/3 of water is where the sides will straighten out. As you can kind of tell my the video, the bottom is a little wider than the top! As long as you have it assembled correctly you should be just fine.
That liner at the beginning of the video that y'all were sweeping, is it just a heavy duty green tarp or what exactly is it? It look really smoothed out as well. The Bestway pool comes with a liner, but I don't think that should be the first barrier between the ground and the pool itself.
@@k6outdoors gotcha. That's kinda what I figured about the tarp. Did you use ground stakes to keep it nicely stretched out or just the weight of the pea gravel on top is keeping it like that? Also, how deep of gravel did you go? We have black soil here so it's pretty much clay and during the summertime it's hard as cement but it cracks and separates and then when it rains a lot it's very muddy and everything seems to sink onto it so I'd like to prevent that if possible.
I'm going to be working on this pool in the next few weeks, it's shipping next week - QUESTION - It says the pool is 31' 4" long and 16' wide. Do those dimensions include the feet/legs or is that purely the usable pool space??
Great video. Did you have any issues with your blocks (under the U poles) being above ground. Some people say you should dig down so they are flush with the ground level. I have a crush rock pad so its hard to dig into it. Will there be an issues with the pool being leveled if they sit on top of the pad? Thanks
We historically haven't had a ton of issues other than "some" settling over time. These were a little bit above the packed surface and we have not had any issues. I don't recall the instructions calling out anything specific on then. I'm not sure you need to dig them in completely but a little bit (half the thickness) wouldn't hurt. You could always lay it out and see what it looks in your application. In my opinion the important part is that nothing is rubbing on the pool support piece. Thanks for stopping by!
We just got this pool and had a bobcat level out the ground. We are wanting to place blocks under the legs but unsure how far out they stick out, can you let us know please.
We have had 2 bestway pools over the past 6-8 years. Looking to purchase this one. We have had an issue with the pool vinyl melting to the poles across the top. Any suggestions on how to avoid this? Is there some sort of lube (like Vaseline) to put on the post before putting them together? TIA!
@@k6outdoors Our last pool was an intex. When we put it together the instructions said to use baby powder to help slide the poles in. We did and had no issues with melting over a 4 year period. Getting ready to put up this one as soon as we can stand the heat. 103 degrees next week.
@@k6outdoors okay.. I can look at Home Depot for limestone.. thank you for the video and showing us how to put it together. Those are 12x12 blocks. PT wood would work as well but we used concrete blocks as we felt it was a better suited long term solution. We just really wanted to spread out the ground pressure to avoid too much settling. Thanks for stopping in!
I've watched a million videos on this and every single person skips past the only thinking part and that is ground prep. can't find a video on ground prep which is the only part of the job that requires a brain.
Sorry I couldn't help you out with this one, we had the ground prepped many years before I started this channel. All we did was form up the area, fill it with crushed lime and pack it down. 7 years later it is still working great.
@K6 Outdoors I can't find a video that tells me ehat to do on a new install. I watched 2 people talk about the "customer" and they skipped ground prep and didn't even use pavers lol

I need the video on how to run and filter the pool please.

Do you have issues with the gravel rock next to the pool? Causing holes? What size gravel, pea gravel, or river rock?
It's pea gravel, never had a problem in the 8 years we've had it around the pool. Thanks for stopping in!
Best video I’ve seen so far

Does the pavers have to be flush with the ground?
Papers should be even with the bottom of the pool
How far apart are the pavers for the legs? From center of one leg to the center of the next
Any answers to this question?
Approx 43inch from center to center pavers
Here is a video I recently did on this. th-cam.com/video/d724v806Hy8/w-d-xo.html

@k6outdoors awesome thanks! And do you have any tips for leveling a garden floor without digging? Like using sand?
@theblazer we used crushed limestone to create the base, leveled it, packed it, and covered it with a tarp.
So on the legs, do both of the white clicky things go in?
Yes they do! Thanks for stopping in

what size pavers did you use for the supports?
16" x 16"
Did you have any trouble with the cover? Mine almost seems too small.
To be honest we haven't put the cover on it. Previously I noticed that they seem just a bit to small
Is the legs added dimension or is it the dimensions as in the box?
On our pool, the legs are in the overall size listed on the box.
