I realize I didn’t add this to the video but I did balance the water and add chlorine before we swam!! I have a weekly pool maintenance video on my channel if anyone is interested to see how I take care of my pool/ what I add on a weekly basis!
Sure 1. I use the Clorox pools testing strips to see where my levels are in my pool. Usually the PH is kind of high so I would add Clorox pool brand PH down to lower my PH * once the ph is down you don’t need to add anymore ph down ( next week) unless the levels get high again 2. I add chlorine to my pool. We use HTH chlorinating granules and we add a 8oz scoop 3. Anywhere from 4-12 hrs later ( according to the bottle) we add shock to our pool. We personally use either Clorox brand shock or HTH, whatever we have on hand. We add a half of a pack to the water and kinda brush it around so it doesn’t sit on the bottle and stain the liner 4. It’s usually day 2 by this point and that is when we add either Clorox or HTH brand algaecide or algae guard This is everything we add to our pool on a weekly basis. I also have a detailed video explaining everything we use and how we measure etc on my channel. Hope this helps! * extra. If our pool ever gets cloudy for whatever reason we use HTH brand super clarifier and it does a great job of clearing cloudy water fast!
My dad ordered a pool for us and since our backyard isn't as leveled, I had to spend about a week total getting grass off the spot and shoveling all the dirt out of and finally getting it done, after that we got our pool put together which wasn't the most stressful thing we've done. And I'm only 15, my dad would've helped but his hand is broken so he did the spending, and I did all the hard work. My sister went to the beach with her friend until the end of the month, so I was doing it all by myself. But it's done now so I'm happy
Oh I am so glad I found your video! You made it look so easy! This is the exact pool that I got as a first time pool owner. Thank you for making this a little less stressful!!!!
I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but you don't need to use those plugs everytime you clean or change the filter... Simply lift the filter housing up higher than the water level and then youcan unscrew the vent and lid and the water won't pour out like that as long as you keep it higher then the waterline! 👍... Thats how we change and clean ours and it works great! You can sit the filter inside the rim of the pool to keep it held up by itself if your doing this alone!
I think the water helped compact the sand enough so that I could walk across and not completely disturb and kick sand everywhere if that makes sense. So it’s really up to you if you want to, you definitely don’t have to
The pump is not enough. Upgrade to the floclear 2200 gal sand pump and get the bestway skimmer. You won’t regret it. The skimmer needs something like vet wrap around the pole to give it something to grip.
I literally was just looking at a sand pump filter and a skimmer last week! I plan on getting both!! Everyone has been recommending both for this pool, so I’m so excited to have a more efficient way to maintain a clear, clean pool. Thanks!
Always lift the filter up high before checking the filter. That water gushing out was gravity. The water will not gush out like that once the filter is higher up above the pool.
Great video the only thing I’d like to add is that I had an Intex pool before this Coleman power steel pool and the only thing that I’d like to add is if you buy an on and off valve, which Intex it already came with it but this pool did not. It only came with an on and off valve that returns the water back to the pool with the same type of valve comes in a T and it will go between the B ports where those hoses can attach and then you have another on and off there and then you shut that off After you shut the pump down and you don’t have to put those plugs inside the pool and it speeds up the process for changing any filters I have a sand filter so I don’t run into that problem but if you do have a cartridge filter, this will save you a lot of time. I also installed an Intex pool skimmer for the top of the pool, which I highly recommend, and it will circulate the top of the water around in a circle and draw all of the bugs and debris and everything from the top of the pool and that will help keep the pool cleaner as Well. Just my helpful tips for anybody that needs it.
I got my sand from a local spot that sells it by the yard. They literally dump a yard of sand into your truck bed. We needed 2 loads..so 2 yards of sand (2 truck bed full load) and a yard was around $20 or so. I’m not exactly sure what kind of sand it is but it wasn’t the super soft play sand
Great job.. I have the same pool. But I upgraded to the sand filter pump. I have 2 brand new of those pumps that come with the pool but not using them to much work
Thank you! I plan on upgrading as well. Everyone keeps telling me how much better the sand filter pump is compared to the one that comes with the pool!
So I added sand to my foundation to level out the low spots rather than digging everything to one level. I added sand all over and added more sand to the spots that were lower to build that spot up. Then I would tamp down the section and check to see if that spot, along with the entire area was level. That’s when I would walk around with the wood with my level on top, and it would smooth everything as went over it and tell me if it was level or not. If it wasn’t I would add a bit more sand to the low spot until it met the rest of the area. I would just continue this entire process until I felt everything was level. I sprayed down the sand to kind of pack it down then I begin setting up my pool parts. I know I basically skimmed through the leveling part in the video but I can make a separate video showing step by step how to level the ground for a pool!
Mine was too! It looked like a giant wave 🤣 took me 4ever to get it corrected and still I didn't quite get it leveled. I just knew my teens were gonna burst it every time they jumped in I cringed! I turn mine on the highest setting and usually when I go out early the next morning I have to turn it back on again because it went off after the timer is up. I kinda wish there wasn’t a timer because I would just run my pump 24/7
We pretty much try to check it every day. Once a day we take out the filter and spray it off to keep it clean and put it back rather than replacing them( after a while I do swap them out with a fresh one) on super hot days the chlorine burns off fast I make sure I go check the levels and make sure to add chlorine. We just installed ours in the backyard good thing I watch your video I was about to open up my pump too cause is leaking abit of water from the pump ..
Hi, great info. Could you tell me how long the power cord is from pump to plug? Can't seem to find that info anywhere. Trying to figure out where we could put this thing in relation to our available outlets. Thanks!
I am not sure either. I’m going to set up my pool soon and I can measure the cord and let you know! I do know the cord is very long though. The cord is longer than me and I’m 5’8
Love the video! We just setup the same pool and upgraded the filter/pump to a sand style. Keeps the water much cleaner. Great channel, new SUBSCRIBER here!
We had a solar cover that worked really well At heating the pool. Or I even seen you could use a few black trash bags on top of the water and it’ll heat it up once the sun is on it
Hello I noticed the pump has a timer on it. Does that mean it will turn it self on and off or is it just a 12 hr timer then onces it off you have to manually turn it back on?
I have noticed that after the timer goes off, I have to manually cut it back on.(and reset the timer) It’s kind of annoying to remember to go cut it back on in the morning. I personally would just leave mine running 24/7. But I guess it’s good for the people who do not want to run theirs all day long
Nope! Our water company gives out water meters specifically for filling up your pool. They track how much water I used to fill the pool and took it off my bill. So they let you fill up for free
I didn’t use bags. I got the sand by the yard which they just dump it straight into the back of your pick up truck (one truck bed full) and I ended up using 2 yards( loaded up the truck bed twice)
If you lift the pump higher than the water lines AFTER shutting the power and the flow valve off, the water will stop so you can change the cartridge. Then just leave the top valve on the filter open for a second to bleed the air out after putting it back on the ground and plug it in. You won’t have that uncontrollable water flow while trying change the cartridge and you won’t need to use those black plugs.
So our local gravel place charges $27 for a truck load full of sand. (Which was a yard) they literally used a bobcat and scooped the sand and dumped it into the back of the pick up truck bed. We ended up going back for a second load. So it took 2 loads total for us
great video. im sorry but i laughed at the end when u did the filter change wrong but i prob would have done the same thing! i got this same pool so im gonna attempt this now. thanks for the help

Thanks for this video I just purchased one now time for try to putting it together
Hiii thank you I have that same one it was awesome. Thank you for sharing so we know
How big are the tarps
20x30
Mine doesn’t have a valve and the water gushed out
Hi what did you use as a base before you put the tarp down?
I used sand
Una pregunta si la bomba no funciona aunque esté encendida y se le quitará los tapones
Did you dig up the grass first?
No, I just cut it down as low as possible with the weed whacker
How much was the water bill though
Free! Didn’t cost me anything. My water company gives out a water meter to fill up pools and however much you use they remove it off your bill
Love the video! We just setup the same pool and upgraded the filter/pump to a sand style. Keeps the water much cleaner. Great channel, new SUBSCRIBER here!
Wow thank you I appreciate it!!!! And I keep hearing the sand filter is SO MUCH better! I plan on upgrading mine as well!
Just got outs up today. Now need to figure out how to heat it
We had a solar cover that worked really well At heating the pool. Or I even seen you could use a few black trash bags on top of the water and it’ll heat it up once the sun is on it
Did you have to put sand down on your lawn so it’s a even level ground ?
Yup I added some sand to level out my area
How long does it take to put together ? Not the leveling just the parts to make the pool ?
I think it was like an hour. Not long at all
Can someone tell me how many leg post this pool has? I can’t find the number anywhere and we just bought this pool but it’s not open yet
But I guess it’s good for the people who do not want to run theirs all day long
Is there one that is 5 to 6 feet tall
I’m actually not sure I usually see above ground pools that are 52inches
Was it expensive to fill the pool?
Nope! Our water company gives out water meters specifically for filling up your pool. They track how much water I used to fill the pool and took it off my bill. So they let you fill up for free
Wish we got all the pieces for our pool but great video 😊
Looks good my only concern is them thin hose , pressure bust pipes 😅
What size tarp did you use? I see it's 2 tarps.
20x30
How many bags of sand did you use to level your ground?
I didn’t use bags. I got the sand by the yard which they just dump it straight into the back of your pick up truck (one truck bed full) and I ended up using 2 yards( loaded up the truck bed twice)
If you lift the pump higher than the water lines AFTER shutting the power and the flow valve off, the water will stop so you can change the cartridge. Then just leave the top valve on the filter open for a second to bleed the air out after putting it back on the ground and plug it in. You won’t have that uncontrollable water flow while trying change the cartridge and you won’t need to use those black plugs.
An extra piece comes with this pool but it’s not used for anything. It’s Tony with a tiny o-ring
How much sand ?
Bags? Or yards ?
So our local gravel place charges $27 for a truck load full of sand. (Which was a yard) they literally used a bobcat and scooped the sand and dumped it into the back of the pick up truck bed. We ended up going back for a second load. So it took 2 loads total for us
Did it ruin the pump when it over flooded?
Nope not at all. It still works perfectly fine!
@@itsDejza thank you bc ours did the same & I was so scared to turn it back on lol
How much sand did you use for ground
A truck bed full is about a yard. And we needed two loads. So for us it was about 2 yards of sand. Honestly could have use a little more
great video. im sorry but i laughed at the end when u did the filter change wrong but i prob would have done the same thing! i got this same pool so im gonna attempt this now. thanks for the help
Hello, did you put anything in the water, like Clorox tablet or anything to keep water safe?
Yup I did! I just didn’t add that to the video. But I balanced the water (adjusted the ph etc) then added the chlorine. I actually used HTH granular chlorine. But I have a weekly pool maintenance video on my channel if you would like to see how I take care of/ what I add to my pool weekly
How did you feel this pump worked? My husband wants to get a bigger one
It was ok and didn’t really filter the water through quickly. Honestly it would be soo much better with a bigger one for sure! I plan to upgrade to a bigger one!
Can you post the link on the towel clamps for the pool cover. Your pool is awesome, I have the same one💪🏾

@@itsDejza I found them right after I posted this comment, thank you so much for responding…
how nice what kind of sand was that
Not exactly sure but it wasn’t the soft fine play sand
Did you dig the ground before adding the sand ?Or did you put the sand over the grass directly?!
I added the sand directly over the grass
Did this make your water bill go sky high? I am upgrading from a. 14-18. Had the 14 for a few days and about to siphon the water from that into the 18 and complete the fill in effort not to waste the water
Nope not at all it was free! We grabbed a water meter from our water company, and filled the pool up with that Whatever you use to fill the pool ends up being free
how does the water end up being free ?
This is awesome! Thank you!!!
We couldn’t find directions for ours, but this helped us get it together. I was trying to watch other videos, but peoples’ pools came with different parts. Yours has the same exact parts.
Thanks lady! 🙌
Wow I’m so glad my video could help you!! Thank you!
