    I found your channel about 2 or 3 weeks ago and I must say that I'm in love with your work! You're truly amazing! And what I think is the best thing about you/your channel is that you teach step by step, not many people do that! I've already learned a lot abou beauty retouch and other things! daaaaaammmnn love everything about this shoot. I'd be so curious to hear you talk about how you set up your studio space! I don't think you've ever talked about the actual items in the studio (never noticed that tool box before it looks amazing) and why you chose the set up you have/why it works for you.

    • @sadowskaphoto
      @sadowskaphoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't "have" to use black sided V Flats in order to create Negative Fill. You can simply use black sheets and hang them to achieve the same affect, which will be much more convenient for a home/small studio.
      Conversely you can also use white sheets for fill.

    • @klowephotography

    very dramatic and glowy! So lovely in B&W. Just curious what you're doing with the background since most of your shots have the rolls of paper visible. Are you keeping that in or making the background so dark that you won't see them?

    • @sadowskaphoto
      @sadowskaphoto  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I actually mask the background out and paint over the rolls to remove them :) its simple enough with such a dark background.

    • @jessicahobin
      @jessicahobin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would love to see how you do that! I use black fabric sometimes as a backdrop (I don't own my own studio, so sometimes I use a house set-up and don't have room for paper) and I feel like the wrinkles are always so hard to edit out.

  • @ZeroG84
    @ZeroG84 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you should mount the background all the way up the wall. It seems you would have plenty of space to do it. You shoot upwards a lot (at least in this video) so you end up with a lot of editing having to remove the rolls of paper from the background.

  • @magicstar2700
    @magicstar2700 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you get your dark background because every time I try it (i am using a beauty dish as only light at the front) my background would get lighter and not darker. I can only create a dark background when my model is 6 feet away from the background and my subject is very close to the light. But I am thinking I am doing something wrong.

    • @kittran779
      @kittran779 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to flag off the light, otherwise if you don’t have enough length, light will spill onto the background, depending on how it’s been angled and it’s size, since light spreads.

    • @magicstar2700
      @magicstar2700 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kit Tran Thank you for your reply. How do I do that?

    • @kittran779
      @kittran779 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quinty van Dijk get a black board, cinefoil, or a flag and stick it on above the beauty dish so you cut the spread. Other option would be a grid for the beauty dish for more fall off. Hope that makes sense.
