This was obviously so embarrassing for him to admit, because, as in many, many sexual victims, he thinks it his fault. No wonder he asked his brother not to disclose any of this before the trial. Look at his face, his tears, he can hardly testify. he is even admitting molesting his own brother, because that's what he learned from his own abuser. Now that there's another victim, I hope he and his brother's cases are going to be revisited and give them the freedom they deserve.

This boy sounds extremely honest. There is NO way anyone could make up that kind of emotional reaction. The fact that he wrote about not wanting to talk about their family's past says how BAD it was. And with the most recent allegations of the one boy from Menudo when he was only 14... Their father was sick, and their mother too... They were so honest and good that in order to throw them in jail that the judge and the prosecution decided not to accept the worse part of their testimony, the SEXUAL ABUSE on the second trial... Talk about an UNFAIR trial..!

If she didn’t make it explicitly clear that he didn’t want to be apart of that, then the prosecution could use that hole in the defenses argument to rebuttal and say “well he wasn’t opposed to it, therefore he couldn’t have felt threatened because to feel threatened you have to not want it.” Winning a court case is extremely technical.

We have Lyle's best friend at the time, Donovan Goodreau, admitting on tape that Lyle confessed to him that his father was abusing him and Erik after Donovan had opened up to him about his own abuse. Lyle also told his cousin Diane when he was 8, she testified in court to that. Andy, another cousin of the brothers, was told by Erik when they were kids, too. And that doesn't even touch the actual corroborating evidence of the abuse and child molestation like the CP photos they found of the boys.

This infuriates me. SNL did skits about this testimony. Lyle was mocked and repeatedly called a liar over and over again. Let's just call a spade a spade. There are times when his testimony veers off into what might be embellishment. Most of the time there is NO DOUBT he is telling the truth! His face turned beet red. You cannot physically force that to happen. He and his brother endured this unspeakable pain and trauma by a controlling and abusive man and a disinterested and probably medicated and drunk woman who was more interested in keeping her man than keeping her kids safe. I've met women like her so I know they exist.
The worst part is that if Jose Menendez had done the same thing to a neighborhood kid and been caught he would have been demonized by the media and put away for many years. But it was HIS kids so it was OK to rape them.
They murdered their parents and that has never been in question. They've served over 30 years in prison. It's time to let actual justice prevail and release them. They are not now and have never been a danger to public safety. They are not now and have never been violent criminals. A hung jury in both cases demonstrated reasonable doubt so the judge changed the rules to get the result his boss wanted. I'm sorry. It's called the justice system why?!

! I’ve been crying every day watching these testimonies. I was in America as a student at San Diego when the boys were tried and convicted (presently live in Mumbai). They were demonized at the time- portrayed as two rich brats that killed their parents in cold blood. But when I had watched them on tv, at the time, I didn’t feel that way- I felt that there was something really wrong here. They looked innocent to me. And now as I watch the case revived in the media, and all the Shorts and TH-cam reels, I relive my youth, as I watch how they lost theirs to the rigged justice system of the time. @@3llyss3 Morally speaking, yes. I'm just saying legally, absolutely not. Because the parents were unarmed, watching TV in their living room. The boys lives were not in any immediate danger. I've always been one of the few to question the abuse claims, I felt like the boys were self involved, spoiled rich boys who panicked when their domineering dad threatened to take them out of the will, and were acting on the stand. I'm not saying it definitely didn't happen, I just have doubts. I believe their Dad was domineering, and belittling, but there was a lot of testimony that makes me doubt the S/A, and makes be believe the boys were the ones out of control. BUT, I do believe 100% that their second trial was unfair. That judge was totally biased and made it impossible for them to not be convicted of premeditated murder. He withheld all the testimony of abuse that could've helped them AND took the manslaughter option off the table which is absolutely insane. So, I do think that they should be given a new trial regardless of what anyone thinks. They weren't given a fair shot at the second trial, so I hope that happens one day and I believe it will.

It took so many years because the trial footage wasn't widely available. CourtTV released it on their TH-cam channel in 2021. It hasn't been that long. Since the 90's media has no power of the narrative anymore, many people started to see this case for what it was. Then, the new evidence surfaced. The case has been gaining traction ever since and people were (rightfully) outraged, so they started to cause awareness. Netflix's (highly inaccurate, but still) show just boosted the attention even more.
