Does anyone know if the massage mode can also be set independently for each breast, i.e. the strength of suction? Or is it only the full pumping mode's suction strength that can be set independently for each side? (I'm aware that cycle speed has to be the same for each breast, no matter the mode.)

Yes you can adjust the strength on each side for both the express and let down modes!
