Amazing fish got a breeding pair males about 7 inches and female about 5.5 inches colour is outstanding. Good luck with them!

Hey Paul just watching your videos on my phone during my lunch time I also picked up four of the Nicaraguan cichlids myself I love them they're a little bit skittish right now they're in a bottom tank so I'm going to move them to an upper tank great looking fish I can't wait till mine color up like yours.do a up date and feeding on all your tanks.thanks

Gorgeous fish man, I been looking around here in Ontario Canada for some nicaragua cichlid but havnt had any luck. I love to see a species profile on the Cuban cichlid, one of my favourite cichlids.

I find this species more so than most truly fascinating for its rather unique behaviours and relationships with Parachromis dovii and Neetroplus nematopus

Great video Paul, they are looking good. Your other one looks like a female - the males have the patten on the dorsal, females have the blue sheen.

Mate I've got a question for you, I've recently acquired a male dovii (dream fish) and he is about 9 inches at the moment. The tank i was going to keep him in for the next few months is unfortunately no longer viable (accident) so my only other option is my 4 foot 60 gallon quarantine tank. I'm not in a position right now to get him a larger tank and obviously the quarantine tank isn't ideal. How long do youn reckon he can stay in there for? Water changes and maintenance will always be top notch its just too small of a tank. How long till that starts hurting him so to speak?

Hi mate thanks for watching 👍 yes I touch and go that ain't it a 9in in a 4ft it could work for a temporary measure but it needs room to grow so yes if water kept OK it would be for a short while
260 American gallons ( 4 foot long ) that's some going how high and what depth 😳 my 180 us gallon is 6x2x2 foot 😀 but I get what your saying good little spot light video 👍
There's a guy in brum who has one on spock 10 inch for like 25 quid he called it a geophagus so I put a comment saying what it actually was 🤭

@@bigfishlad4847 yeah was disappointing because they are beautiful fish. Rest of my fish are relatively peaceful geos, severums, ele blue acaras, and viejas. I also have a convict female she is fiesty but in a cute way.
