- I created this little montage to show the growth of the Uaru Amphiacanthoides from free swimming fry to adult. The fry in this video were born on 7/5/22. The next tank of juveniles were born 4/11/22. The third are sub-adults and were born on 1/14/22. The adults is the last part are in my 220 gallon show tank. I purchased them at retail. I estimate their ages between one and three years.

Beautiful! What size is this tank?
Its an Oceanic 220 gallon with a custom 47 gallon sump.
What plant is it at 2.15min please?
The plants are fake. Marineland bamboo.
I have 2. I am not sure of the sex they are always side by side. One is more rounded and larger than the other not sure if that means a male and female. I have noticed they have started digging a pit in the sand, but I haven't seen an egg tube pertruding yet. Do you think it could be breeding, or is it just normal behaviour?
Are those Geophagus Sveni?
No. Winemilleri, Tapajos, and Satanoperca daemon.
Very nice, they hammer their veggies haha!
Yes they do! I can't keep plants in that tank at all.
What are those silver and orange sharks called that look like they give kisses?😅
flagtail prochilodus. I've seen them around 24" in public aquariums.
What kinda catfish is that?
I have multiple species of Synodontis in this aquarium.
Beautiful... Lots of fry ...
Great to see how they mature..
I also love the other fish... Flag tail??
Yes. I love Flagtails. Unfortunately they cannot be bred in captivity. They get extremely large and are migratory. They're a major food fish in South America. I've seen them over 24" at public aquariums.
@@northvinelandtropicals oh wow.. I didn't know that .. thanks for the info..
nice video, what was the time progression on those uaru?
@@DjPosey3 I bought that pair around 1.5 inches. and have had them about 2 years to get to that size.
