I remember trying to get a job at my high school lunch lines freshman year. I’d get a free lunch and $8 a day until my senior year. For a kid with parents who weren’t giving him lunch money and basically malnourished him, that was a golden opportunity. Unfortunately my dad didn’t sign the work permit in time and I didn’t get the job. He even said “aren’t you worried the kids will make fun of you for working in the lunch line?” To which I brought up “I’ll be making fun of them when I’m driving and they’re still walking!” I also wanted to bring up that the entire summer he and my step-mom were nagging me to get a job, but I didn’t wanna risk getting grounded.

I remember trying to get a job at my high school lunch lines freshman year. I’d get a free lunch and $8 a day until my senior year.
For a kid with parents who weren’t giving him lunch money and basically malnourished him, that was a golden opportunity.
Unfortunately my dad didn’t sign the work permit in time and I didn’t get the job. He even said “aren’t you worried the kids will make fun of you for working in the lunch line?” To which I brought up “I’ll be making fun of them when I’m driving and they’re still walking!” I also wanted to bring up that the entire summer he and my step-mom were nagging me to get a job, but I didn’t wanna risk getting grounded.
At 1:40 i accidentally pressed 4 and it said "I swear we're still using the same batch."
