Kyogo has an abrupt Jan exit after a brilliant contribution, and Jota and Tierney are welcomed back after moving (one for money and the other for ambition). Was Rodgers any different? He also gave 6 months of warning signs that he needed investment for Europe that didn’t materalise. All four are terrific. Hail Hail! Let's invest and leave that mob behind forever.
I feel like the World Cup was maybe a factor in him moving. The Japanese manager has been openly critical of the Scottish league (even though he selects hatate and Daizen?) and maybe Kyogo felt playing & scoring regularly in a top 5 league would help his chances of selection for next year
I loved Kyogo and will really miss him, but the 34 goal season was an outlier, 20 goals a season was probably more his level. He will be hard to replace for his overall play and attitude, but his goal tally can be replaced.
some players just shine their brightest in the green and white of the hoops and it doesn't matter what dreams they chase, sometimes there is no bigger environment for them than Celtic. It isn't always about the money, and I am very glad Jota has come home as that is a stellar example of this. Champions league football, champions mentality and the pressure along with, massive global club and a long stretch of history. The only thing bigger than this is money... subjectively. £10m for a 30 year old carrying a shoulder issue. I’d rather have seen him stay but if we trade up for a younger prolific striker that can further develop then it’s a no brainer. I’m not expecting this player before the end of the window but then again I wasn’t expecting Jota.

The Kyogo in the first 18 months compared to the Kyogo in the last few months was a different player and it him wanting away clearly affected his form on the pitch! Idolise the guy but we always need the best version of every player and mindset to work 100% and win and towards the end he just wasn’t giving that!

They offloaded him to France as soon as they could knowing they can't get their contract money back. Before long Rennes realised he was a physical dud as well, and they laughed at anyone paying more than 3 million pound for him. Celtic fans will want Jota out by the first season.
