I’ve said for a while about the atmosphere that I think a problem is the GB being one side and the Bhoys being the other, I’m sat in the middle in the north stand and they sing two different songs at the same time. So you’ve not got the whole stadium singing the same song. When we are at Hampden and they are all in the one bit the atmosphere is spot on for a big game. Maybe not the whole issue but I definitely think it plays a part in it.
Playing that Carneval de Paris song over the tannoy as loud as possible as soon as the team score is just simply bizarre. Drowns out any crowd noise and you miss out on that natural crowd reaction.
Anything played over the tannoy is irritating as fck. During goals aye. But even when the players are warming up the noise of the crap music is like being in a nightclub. Needs sorted out!
last game I went to was a random league game, I was still up from the night before and regretted going the whole time, hangover kicking in, cant remember anything about the game, think it was against Dundee, but I do remember asking "is it only the green brigade who sings now", and this would have been back in Rodgers first spell, I hadnt been for years before that, and it was notable change that everything was just from the Green Brigade i grew up getting taken to games during the Oneill years, the hun games and european nights were amazing and while the league games were nothing special atmosphere wise, songs would get started from many different places around the ground, I can only judge based on the tv which never did it justice, but it seems like the atmosphere now just isnt as good on european nights i put it down to a couple of things, main one being the near 20 years of tankings due to managed decline, fans going to games hoping not to get a doing, doing the obligatory cheer for the CL anthem, but back in the day that was a genuine expression of excitement because we fancied ourselves to beat anyone at home, our record was unbelievable, thats gone now, we became a non entity and I blame Lawwell and Desmond entirely for that another reason is the internet and phones have made people more reserved, disconnected and self conscious than they were 25 years ago, and finally the cost of season tickets has probably made the crowd more middle class, a lot of the rowdy peasants have been priced out, the green brigade themselves seem to be a bunch of uni students, if their marxist indoctrination is anything to go by
Spot on pal, I miss the our organic support we used to have, no signing section was required. I think we told ourselves during Mowbray/ Delia years we needed singing sections but we really didn't. Now I think we just leave it to them to create the atmospheres. Definitely lost something there don't know if we can ever get it back 🤷♂️
Most fans don’t know the majority of the songs the green brigade sing nowadays, they should sing more of the songs they know the whole support knows, at least it gives them a chance to get involved. Even the away support isn’t what it used to be I’ve noticed.
Remember when Rodgers came in he said something along the lines of wanting powerful players? Maeda is the epitome of that, he's lightning quick, never stops, good in a tackle and challenges for every ball.

Yeah the Ultras sing mostly songs that either just a melody with no words or you literally just hum along too. Or its some pop song made into a song for a player that a lot of grown men wouldn't feel comfortable with 😅

European nights are full of tourist fans so the past couple of seasons have been weird. Idah has played the equivalent minute of six and a half full matches since he scored. He scored a brace against Hearts in his sixteen-minutes but found himself dropped against Brugge in a game Kyogo failed miserably. He then started and scored in a game Celtic were excellent in against Ross County , yet he was dropped the next match, he started once in nine games until St Mirrren in what was another convincing win and performance. . He does more than Kyogo in the games he didn't score in yet everybody is on his back; no wonder he is thinking too much.

Different type of supporters than in days gone by. You need a few bob to get to game these days. As well as that lack of competition drains the atmosphere. Green Brigade are self appointed super supporters,let them do the singing.
Im probably going to look hypocritical considering my spotify playlists and away days songlists but for some reason singing rebel songs at home when we are playing teams from Europe just seems out of place and counterproductive in terms of the full stadium getting involved. Anyways hopefully we get the job done on Wednesday and skelp them leaving the trip to Birmingham as an away day jolly.
The Fiesta goal song needs to GTF. Every goal against Sevco should be Kernkraft 400. People who leave at 80mins should have their season books revoked. There, fixed it all. On a more serious note, the atmosphere is dire (I even feel it watching on TV) because there isn’t a title race. It’s human nature. Regarding the apparent lack of atmosphere at CP in recent times, I honestly believe this is as a result of what I refer to as "The Entitled Brigade" - There is a sizeable element in our support that is of an age that all they've experienced is a significant period of success since the start of this century. There seems to be a feeling that we deserve to win every game convincingly just because we're Celtic. Those of us who are old enough to have experienced dark times following Celtic (I was born in 1949) will never take victory for granted and can enjoy winning without moaning about individual players and/or the manager. Besides, MON added 7 players to those he inherited in that 1st season alone then another 2 or 3 the season after, all who contributed massively to the success over those 2 to 3 years. That is essentially rebuilding a side. Plenty of managers the world over have built or rebuit sides and went on to have success with those, Brendan Rodgers has never done so. The quality of the sides he inherits gets diluted over time as more of his signings are added. Of course, that's not to say it would definitely happen again but there is a very realistic chance of it.

The atmosphere issue is down to song choice. Not everyone wants to sing rebel songs or that davie cooper song.

Callum McGregor has been rotten for ages euros showed him up badly , since march reo been the best midfielder and most consistent Bernardo Engles have been up and down and mccowan gives the ball away for fun reo isn’t the problem in there , because some on twitter giving him pelters seems to be a thing , cal is the real problem in there but no one seems to want to address it
You can't be serious saying reo is our best midfielder. He performs 1 outta 10 games. I have never seen any professional footballer prone to giving the ball away needlessly
@@johnmcauley3042 I am since march reo been our most consistent mid , people forget how poor we were before he came back and any big per we have had since reo been pivotal cal been poor for months , and Engles Bernardo inconsistent and mccowan gives the ball away for fun 10 times in 25 mins vs Dundee and you want to talk about given the ball away 😂
@burnsyyy67 go count how many times reo misplaces passes, simple fcking ones at it but what we get is 'on his day'. How many assists has reo got this year? How many times has 'the best midfielder bossed a game? The only thing consistent about reo is his inconsistency!
On a side note I totally agree with calmac being a major issue. Been saying it for months , he offers nothing against bigger faster teams.

@Mantis_Toboggan_MD. yes but we're not talking about MON or JS, besides JS was from a completely different era and is totally incomparable. Besides, MON added 7 players to those he inherited in that 1st season alone then another 2 or 3 the season after, all who contributed massively to the success over those 2 to 3 years. That is essentially rebuilding a side.
Plenty of managers the world over have built or rebuit sides and went on to have success with those, Brendan Rodgers has never done so. The quality of the sides he inherits gets diluted over time as more of his signings are added.
Of course, that's not to say it would definitely happen again but there is a very realistic chance of it.
