    I dont know if you saw Asics's financial reports recently but I think you might be interested to know that their sales and profit growth is quite significant. Even their stock has gone up about 400% since 2021. And the company's value has almost doubled. Not only are they killing itbin running shoes, but in sports shoes (volleyball, Tennis 🎾, Basketball 🏀, Football ⚽ etc ), street fashion shoes. This is since the CEO position was taken over by a 30 year veteran of Mitsubishi. His name is Hirota I believe. And he has pushed through a LOT of changes at Asics since he started his tenure.

      Good to know. I knew they were doing well but not that well. They definitely have revitalized the brand and the products. Her win Taiwan Asics is massive for Baseball and volleyball… as well as “sports” in general (think someone who needs athletic shoes or anything, reprisals kids).
      I’m glad they are doing well though.

    You are reeeeeally making me wanna try the NB V4. I have 120km on 6runs in the NB V3 (everything strides/5k to Z2 32+Km long runs with race pace injections) and so far the shoe has been fantastic. I have 700km on my NB V1 which still gets occasional treadmill use only. I think I have 6 pairs of shoes that are right on the cusp of retirement, so I need to pickup another shoe. Thankfully I did just find a 3rd pair of Tempo Next% to hopefully get me through all my key marathon workouts over my next 3 marathon blocks. If not for the Tempo Next% I know I'd probably have 2 pairs of Superblast! LOL

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, Tempo N% or SB… I hear a “vs” I could never imagine. I never loved the Tempo N%, it was always clunky and techy and not fun to run in (for me)… but it was fast and it did get the job done for a range of paces. The SB it’s just so much more enjoyable to run in… but we all have our “the one” shoe… you definitely know yours!

    • @timtrenholm3698
      @timtrenholm3698 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SagasuRunningIt's the airpods. The ZoomX implementation in the Tempo Next% wasn't great. That wide forefoot for the airpods is just magical if you can hit them right. I might still grab a pair of SB just for long runs...I dunno. I'm halfway through this block (which will hopefully get me a Boston 2025 bib), and then I have Chicago 2024. So will have lots opportunities to eat up KMs.

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @timtrenholm3698 That they will… plenty of kms ahead for you.
      I do remember the ZoomX foam in the Tempo to have felt more dense… combined with React it was very “brick” of you didn’t strike the ground perfectly.
      I’ve just never fully meshed with the AirPods. They are fun for a bit for me but then quickly they become very not fun and a chore to run in. Plus the OCD in me always worries about blow-outs with them… though I never had it happen over 6 pairs of AirPods Nikes I’ve had over the years.

    As a bigger runner mid-foot striker the Novablast 4 is the perfect daily trainer. I got the trail version for added traction and outsole durability and it grips the road in all conditions. Love this shoe going strong in over 100 miles

    I experienced the same frustrations with the Novablast 3 that you outlined. I bought the 4's based on your review, and again, have found your insights to be spot on with my experience.
    The Novablast 4 has become my second favorite daily trainer, right behind the Puma Magnify Nitro 2. I would have never guessed it after my experience with the 3's.
    Thanks for your reviews! The content is awesome and you've become my go-to shoe reviewer on TH-cam :-)

      Hey , is the Magnify Nitro 2 as stable as the Nova Blast 4 ? In the Nova Blast 4 and the Gel-Cumulus 26 the guardrails and the geometry of the middlesole guides the feet well when ruining. I wonder if the Magnify 2 is as good and stable as recent Ascis neutral shoes launched recently.
      Thanks.

    • @torenforsberg1
      @torenforsberg1 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@MiracleWarriors I don't know if it's as stable but it is a very stable shoe. Overall it doesn't have as wide of a base as the NB4, but I haven't had any stability issues in the Magnify.
      The foam is the reason I like it a little bit more than the Nova blast. It is nitrogen infused and has the same firm feeling as the NB4 (you don't sink in too much) but is much more responsive. It has a nice bounce that I don't get as much of in the Nova blast.
      The other thing I like is it doesn't have much of a rocker, which also helps the stability.

      Puma use fairly narrow platforms on their shoes and they also seem to have a lateral bias to them (some more than others). So compared to the NB4 they won’t ever be as stables even with the firmer foams.

    I appreciate your thoughts on the NB4. I'll have to keep it in mind as a possible option. Right now, I'm running in a lot of lightweight trainers but I still pull out the Deviate Nitro 2 when I want more protection. That shoe is at almost 600 miles now and refuses to die.

      It’s a preference more than anything. I am finding 5-8mm shoes to feel more natural lately… additionally more of the shoes I’m running in are in that drop range… so when I get a classic 10mm drop trainer like the VN3 I really feel it. I do run in a large range of drops though, form 0-10 on a regular basis.

    Listened to this on a 10 miler in the NB4. Have about 50km and really starting to like it. V3 felt flat after 45min-1 hour and it felt like a reverse drop: best at mid to forefoot running and slightly challenging as a roll through shoe. In the 4, I feel the rocker/roll through and a uniform bounce across the wider platform. It reminds of my first run in the endo speed 3 but with more bounce in the forefoot (I bottomed out in the speed 3).
    I’m using the 4 for easy and daily now but I am curious at uptempo/mp speeds, with less ground contact time, if there is an increase in energy return. Awesome review, as always

    • @SagasuRunning
      @SagasuRunning  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’ve not found the NB4 to be as comfortable above, what I call, steady pace (+30secs over my MP per km). Once I get into MP or HMP the soft nature of FFBlast+ ECO starts to let me down. It will do it and it’s fine but it just feels too soft and unstructured at those speeds. I’m finding the Hoka Mach 6 to be much better behaved there.

      Both are wides platforms, I supinate as well (midlly), both work well for me. I think there is MUCH more performance in the Peg Plus, but it is very low stack (I like that, you might not), I use it for workouts (it is the perfect workout shoe), but not as a daily shoe. The NB4 is stable and much more foam, better all rounder, but less performance over all...likely the better daily shoe.
