    This was an awesome detail of the long run capabilities of this shoe. I wasn't expecting the shoutout, what a mensch! Keep doing you.

With his updates on wearing the shoes he is reviewing, i can say this is what a reviewers should be doing not just for their channel but for their viewers .

    Thanks for this informative review! Another great option is the Novablast 3, which is now available for $120 from Asics online. I retired my 3's at 400 miles when they had lost their grip due to sole wear.

    I have both this one and the Superblast. I like both, but the Novablast doesn't even come close to the Superblast. I still use both, just to spare the SB a bit and also the NB is better for easy/recovery.

    I found the Novablast 4 to be a bit more cushioned/softer than the Hyperion Max. The cushioning in the Novablast felt pretty good on my 20 miler this weekend and I don’t know that my leg muscles would’ve appreciated the extra effort needed to keep them moving with a softer shoe. That said, I ran a marathon in the Hyperion Max last year so I might be a bit more tolerant of firm midsoles than others.

    A good clear, detailed review. I like mine and find them versatile. I wouldnt use them for a fast 5k, the speed 3 is still faster. Im thinking about the mach 6 as well if its different enough from the nb4. If not i might go to my local saucony outlet snd get a cheap pair of triumph 21s

    • @supwell
      @supwell  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Mach 6 and novablast 4 would be a great rotation. Triumph has a little too much overlap with the novablast for me to have both. Mach 6 is great for that faster work but way more cushioned feeling than the rebel. Just make sure to use my running warehouse link on Supwell.io if you get it 😉

    I watched a lot of reviews of these shoes, and have bought it, but the general consensus is that it's fine for plodding out the miles (my use), but not great at picking up the pace, so not a competitor to the Endorphin Speed or Mach 6 in that respect, and even the Triumph 21 is considered better for varied pace running.

      @@JS-xn3dq So I have both the NB4 and Boston 12. I am a 6”5 200lb runner. I recently bought the Boston 12. I might have 10-15miles on them. I used it for a 5k race last weekend and hit my PR of 23 minutes in them. From the reviews I see people saying that they break in after 40 miles. I didn't find them to be stiff, I actually find the NB4 to be more stiff and bulky. I would highly recommend them maybe up to half marathons. I am still yet to try them for long runs and I think they will hold up. They are bouncy and I would probably use them for race days.
      I guess from my experience I have been using the Pegasus for several half marathons last years. It is good but not great and I started looking for more cushioning.
      I tried the SC Trainer V2, they say it's the best cushion shoe for marathons. I had to return them, they are comfortable and fun but not stable for me. I did get a knee injury from them. Maybe they will work for you. Certainly expect more pressure on the knees when cornering since they are very mushy.
      More recommendations for long distance that I see they are ranked highly are the Puma Deviate Nitro 3 (Cushioned), and the superplast (Fast Pace).

    Im confused on what's better to use for a long slow distance run...it seems that the gelnimbus 26 and novablast 4 have the same midsole.nearly identical stack height....one is just heavier and i guess softer...but does weight and cushion really matter that much for a long slow run anyway?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They call the midsoles the same name but they are different foams - the gel nimbus is soft and squishy and the novablast is firmer and a little bouncier when you run faster. I don't look at weight a ton for long runs but I prefer a slightly firmer shoe. The novablast 4 is one of my favorites right now for long runs - I had the gel nimbus 25 which is very similar to 26 and I didn't love taking it on longer runs because the midsole was a bit too squishy

    I am probably mentioning this again for a few reasons. Number one I have Asperger's so I don't really have a social filter. If I see something messed up I usually say something I can't seem to help it number two, I like you and I like your program I like all sneaker review channels. Sneakers are one of my Asperger's special interests so I watch pretty much all of the sneaker reviews even the bad ones but that being said yours are still way too long . You could go much further much faster if you edited out some of the dumb stuff like you changing your shoes and you Weighing shoes (one at a time). lol! I don't think you're going to hit the big subscriber numbers if you don't shorten your programs. I actually did some opposition research for you and the Run testers when they have a situation where they want to talk about it a few more like as in comparisons they will make a completely separate program so they have four programs on the Nova Blast for and each of them are about 11 or 12 minutes long. That is digestible and people have time for that. The same with Kofuzi, he always has initial review review was at 11 minutes and 31 seconds, he normally also does a 100 mile review (normally shorted than the original. Believe in the Run was 10 minutes and 17 seconds, Ed bud I had two episodes 1 and 100 miles and One initial at 12 minutes and 21 seconds, Hes kicks is under 15 minutes even if he has six different shoes in the review well you may have some dedicated followers that have enough time to watch 30 minute and 1 hour long sneaker reviews, that's not the larger audience I promise you. There's a reason why all other stinker review channels Trend much much shorter than yours come by far less than half of your time wise. And they condensed their shows well you're getting just as much information from a 12-minute believe in the run as you are from your 30 minute on the same shoe you're going to have to learn to be more efficient with your data and delivery of data and learn to weed out the dumb s*** . Or just be satisfied to have a few 100,000 followers despite how good you may be what time is the most precious resource that we have and many people guard it jealously. I had a significant debate in my mind before even composing this message to you because I know I was going to waste more time and I'd already said what I had to say. But I like you so I decided it was worth it. I want to see you succeed. I'm not here to criticize you I'm here to help enable and Empower you because that's what we should all do for each other.. I'm frequently misunderstood and that has to do with my communication style as a person with asperger's. We are overly direct and to the point and sometimes that gets seen as aggression and we generally do tons of research as a Pastime so we know a lot of stuff in that comes across as arrogant , we're not, we just get really excited about sharing information because we love learning so we assume that everybody else does too and we are usually wrong on that. LOL best of luck

      @@supwell He has a niche right now. No cookie cutter intro music, mandatory montage set to upbeat music for 2 plus minutes, then generic shoetuber review that isn't really well thought out and isn't in-depth/ THIS is the place for a well reasoned, in depth deep dive into a shoe we might be interested in. If he shortens things up to be like ALL THE REST there's no reason to watch this channel because there are 100's just like it. He found a niche, his growing audience speaks to it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Most of us have the attention span to watch and enjoy a video more than 10 minutes.
      In a day and age where many of us buy online we need in-depth reviews from honest real runners, not glorified shoe salesmen with a youtube channel and same tired 8-12 minute "shoe review" saying not much at all. Just my .02.

    If Im enjoying the triumph 21s, is there any reason to get these?

      Probably not - there is a lot of overlap in the types of runs they do. But maybe pick up a pair once they go on sale at the end of the year!

    I got them and really like them but I do get blisters on my ankle where the tip of the ankle part ends. I use them for 5 mile walks daily so I have to put a bandage on my ankle in the rear area to avoid the blisters.

    Tingle type video, if you'd cut out the regular voice and keep it to soft spoken + field recordings, these reviews would work as asmr, could be labled as such, would be much easier to explain to the uninitiated than "Your highschool crush comforts you" and could get a bunch of sadge depressors into running and/or shoes.
