I was there and it was like a dream I never wanted to end. Thanks for posting the entire show. Reliving every minute. I was lucky enough to have a floor seat,my son who is in management at MSG treated me knowing my love for Bryan & the group. I saw them in 1982 and Bryan again later in 80s so I was thrilled to be at the 50th Anniversary concert.

My Wife and I are just back home in the north of Ireland after travelling to Glasgow's Hydro Arena to watch what is definitely the last time we will see Roxy Music play live in Concert. It was a happy sad pleasure Byran Ferrys soft weakening voice was so plainly that, nevertheless so distinctively recognisable. We would have loved to have heard some of the more energetic Roxy Music belters and especially " Lets stick together" . It was amazing to see thousands of followers and most of us with one ailment or another, thank you Roxy Music your music is timeless!

I saw this tour in London a few days ago. It was brilliant, and Andy especially seemed to be in far better health and form than on the US leg. Bryan's voice was also more powerful than I've heard in years. If I had one complaint, it would be that no songs from "Stranded" were played; "A Song for Europe" and "Mother of Pearl" are two particular favourites. That is, however, nit-picking. Thank you Bryan, Phil, Andy, Paul plus Fonzi et al. for these amazing performances.

@@steveneast8572 I must confess that it was a fantastic experience. Even in such a huge venue (20,000 people, sold-out), the atmosphere was amazing. There are rumours that the band might be appearing at festivals in summer 2023. If they turn out to be true, and we haven't dragged ourselves into WWIII by then, perhaps you may get the chance to see them (again).

Absolutely fantastic, I've liked Roxy Music from 11yrs old I'm now 50. I've lost count how many times I've seen Roxy Music/ Bryan Ferry....I think some people forget the band members are getting on a bit now so no their not going to sound like they used to....
At least Bryan is actually singing his songs, unlike Rod Stewart who gets loads of backing vocals to sing most of his songs. and as for Robbie Williams, say no more.....
Anyway, going to see Roxy in a couple of weeks in Manchester, can't flipping wait.........❤

Out of The Blue the most brilliantly written and constructed RM song ever. Never thought Jealous Guy was ever really a Roxy song, although I appreciated the sentiment of the tribute to JL. ......Wonder how differently music would have changed and developed between then and now if John hadn't been murdererd and Bowie hadn't (alledgedly) gone into temporary retreat?????? Btw, the more I listen to this recording the better it gets - if these guys (and girls) could play on forever, that would be fine by me.... I initially thought Bryan had pushed himself a little too far this time, but in fact he really does put in an amazing performance....along with rest of the band.

    • @michaeldillon3113
      @michaeldillon3113 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes I would have preferred ' working class hero ' or Mind Games as a tribute - particularly as J L admitted to being a ' beater ' . Personally I think ' If there is something ' is not just their greatest song but one of The great songs . So good they made a film around it - Flashbacks of a Fool . ✌️

There were 20 & 30 y.o.'s who looked like they worked as assistants in tech or finance who never heard of Roxy in their lives guaranteed! The promoter must have given out hundreds of tickets to fill seats at MSG.
In Roxy's peak they wouldn't have attracted that many people. Radio City, Beacon, Palace was more like it!

I saw Roxy Music in 1976, 1979, 1983, 2001, and 2003. I didn't go to the show here in LA last week. They played too much from "Avalon" and NOTHING from "Stranded"(Eno's favorite Roxy Music record and he's not even on it!). No "Mother Of Pearl", "A Song For Europe", "Amazona", "Serenade", 'Sunset". That's just sad. This is my opinion only. The "Siren" show in 1976 was the best of the five times I saw them.

We travelled over to see them in Glasgow I think all the songs were selected to suit the weakening voice of Bryan even when he spoke it was obvious by his much softer than usual tone. I agree with you and like you, my wife and I have saw them many times as RM or just Byran Ferry. At our age we can't always get what we want it's like going back to childhood you have to take what you get, we love them no matter.

He is in his late 70ies ...and we all know that.Nearly nobody has the same voice at that age ...than in his 20ies or 30ies.I also prefer his voice in good old shape like on "Same old scene" or "More than this" ...but its not realistic to expect it today. So I guess we have to think about:
Do we accept it and can we have a great evening ,although voice is not as well as in his early days...or do we close our eyes and listen to the songs at home?
To me it was much more sad to see Phil Collins on youtube last tour ...as an really old man , sitting in a chair.
      That was really awful....!!! :0(

@@ritasch1007 I have to agree. Bryan Ferry doesn't sound as good as he used to but like you say I guess that's to be expected when one gets older. I have to agree with you when it comes to Phil Collins too. While I'm not a big fan of the version of Genesis with Phil Collins as the lead singer it shatters my dreams of the original Genesis getting back together.
Keith Richards used to have a very good singing voice but sadly enough not anymore.

I went friday night in Dallas and I was struck by something and this confirms it, they cut "More than This" almost in HALF. "Dance Away" was way too fast, and the bass was too fuzzy and the background vocalist mics were turned up too loud. It was a great show over all but it was A plus for the first 10 songs or so but dropped to B minus. it got back up to B+ for most part.
