Can I toss a shoutout to Octopath Traveler 2? I'm 5 hrs into it after finishing TotK, and... I'm enjoying it more than TotK. It's a really neat take on old school JRPG and absolutely beautiful environments. So far the character building is on point.
For me my Game of the Year is definitely Dave the Diver. Great game play loop, amazing soundtrack and art style, as well as a wild amount of different game mechanics fit in to a game that'll keep you entertained for a long time.
I saw that "Theatrhythm Final Bar Line" for the Switch was on sale when I was watching this video, so I took it as a sign to finally pick it up. I have the 3DS game, and really enjoyed it. I've just been hesitant to jump to the Switch version. Thanks for the push, and the video.
As a huge FF fan, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is a godsend for me. I'm hoping at some point later they add FF XVI music. Like maybe a few months after more people have had a chance to play it.
If you like the re4 “backpack Tetris”then I’d highly recommend backpack hero. I don’t think the game got much coverage and I very well could be wrong. However the entire game revolves around inventory management and where items in your inventory are placed makes all the difference. Also it’s a turn based dungeon crawler.
There's a game that came out not long ago called Dead Cells that's kind of a nod to old Castlevania games, there's even dlc for it called "A Return To Castlevania", I just recently picked it up and it's actually pretty cool
With some exceptions, not sure why VR games don’t have an option to play on TV with the VR controllers. It would be a way to lower the initial cost if sold separately. Also, I’m guessing there are those like me who do not want a piece of hardware strapped to my face. Yeah the depth perception will be lost, but I think people will manage.
I played Dredge and it didn't feel like a horror game much. I intentionally stayed out at night just to feel something from this game and I didn't get much. I had to get in trouble intentionally. There was something there, but the concept execution felt like it failed to me. If you don't go out at night, it's basically just a fishing game. That Tron game looks interesting. Might look to it for inspiration, been thinking about making my own visual novel style mystery. But I need something with irregular elements, like fantasy or sci-fi. Also, do people in the UK regularly refer to their friends by their full name?

No Mans Sky, Call Of The Mountain, RE:Village & Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR2 are amazing, next level experiences and my top 3 of the year so far. However, Mirage Kayak VR while looking pretty, made me nearly chuck my ring up after about 10 mins and I had to lie down.
Played the hell out of Melody of Memory(ADORED again hearing the KH soundtrack and learning every song down to the note) and tried the demo of Theatrhythm, will def go check it out if it gets that complex in later difficulties. xD
Always up for a banter list, same as the couch-based nonsense. Dredge is the only game on here that I've played, but man is it a delicious Lovecraftian feast. Gameplay can vary wildly depending on how safe and sane you want to play it, the things that go bump in the night can get worse and worse and worse as you panic but can be banished by a good night under the blankie at the local dock. It's just.... mwah! It's also another one that's meant to be finished, taking me 21 hours to 100% the game with all the fish caught and multiple ending abysses dived into. Love a fun little game that respects my time and doesn't turn it into a grindfest. Gameplay isn't super complex, it is at the core a chill fishing game after all, but put that together with an artistic style that feels like it got ripped out of a book about a little town called Innsmouth and a soundtrack that evokes the swelling sea and the beckoning abyss... yeah, if you like Lovecraft, it's just the thing.

I love vr, got Meta quest 2 myself. I would recommend that over psvr for most just because you can hook it up to your computer and play the steam games and what not. My brother has psvr and seems to always be disappointed on what games he can't get being tethered to the ps store.
You'd think it'd be on Switch due to MS working with them and signing a 10 year deal to bring Xbox games to their platform. If they get ABK, COD will obviously be the biggest title they'd get and I suspect the only big title, with the rest of the games being more indie flavored, which Hifi Rush would definitely fall into. Probably still could and they could be working on a Switch version as we speak. As far as PS5, MS has made it clear despite their public statements that outside of COD, MS has no intentions of bringing games to PS5.

There are so many games I still haven’t played any of the games that came out in 2021 and beyond yet with a few exceptions. The inception of ps plus extra doesn’t help as I am playing through FF7 remake which came out in 2020 I believe lol.
I want a PSVR2, but there is an issue. There are several VR sets out right now. They all generally have the same games with the exception of a few exclusives. Unfortunately, PSVR2 has one thing missing it that the others have; computer integration. I mean, I partially get it....they want it to get exclusively a gaming system. But it's hard to justify spending $600 for LESS functionality.
I had to put down Theathrhythm Final Bar Line because I got it on switch, and the controller isn't ideal for playing a stick-based rhythm game. :x I *want* to go back, though.
Pretty much all games on that list have hundreds if not thousands of players regularly playing them on steam -EXCEPT batboy. Batboy all time peak was like, 25? It looks real good. What did they do wrong? I’m almost buying it just to find out…
And exploring their page, they do have a bunch of reviews (although not hundreds of them). It does seem like the lower player rates they get is because the game is short and apparently not very replayable? But it seems to have resonated to a bunch of those who actually tried. Eh. Seems like a fair price for the experience thou. Maybe I will bite.
Once VR stops being so damn expensive I'll consider it. I'd really like to play TWD or Arizona Sunshine but the headset is just way too expensive for my taste. Also, no Half Life Alyx for the PSVR2 is just sad.

Normally I prefer physical as well but in the case of Theatrhythm Final Bar Line I went digital because in the Digital Deluxe Edition you got extra songs you don't get with the physical version.

I had vr for the ps4 and i would love to play psvr2 but the price point is just to much, my psvr was great at first but just like ALL sonys secondary systems ( vita, psvr, 3d tv, etc) they seem to do great at first then no games or suport after launch. If they continue making games on it to make the purchase worth while then i would consider it.
As much as I liked this, I now also want to hear a less scripted discussion about games with you two Which I imagine you may already have produced and I’m just not aware

Aliens: Dark Descent. That's a great game, it has strategy, stealth, survival horror, base management and a damn lot of tension

PSVR 2 games really are great, the walking dead games, zombie land, Horizon and Creed 2 are so much fun to play, so glad I caved and brought one

Definitely put SF6 on there, it's opened up the fighting games community to everyone with modern controls. Content rich and just well made
