      If ur using dmslink u should already have a sd Rom preformed. U should use specific branded sensors that the rom can read and scaling. My strategy is always 80% idle , Cruise and daily operation and only 20% wot. If u get part throttle operation right all else fall in to place and makes for a great smooth tune. I would start with 15-20 psi and try to make the ECU do 12.5 upto 15psi and by 20 psi 11.8-12. if u can get it to do that the rest is easier. Keep the timing low. Hope that makes sense

    Great video BD Alquemist.. One question. I was goint to scale my tables to Omni 4bar, but remembered that the SD instructions I read said to adjust the xml for MAP 16bit to the Ombi4bar scalings. Is this the same thing? Thanks!

    Subscribed! Do you have info on how to improve idling on 1600cc low ohm injectors, i know they arent the best but they idle at 11.5afr open loop with 14.7 afr set in fuel map, one i cruise the afr follows the map, also my min ipw is 1.75 to 2ms which seems high.

    My evo 8 MR has started revving to 3k and won't come down, even when hot! I've changed the IAV and TPS for OEM ones, still doing the same. I have 1200cc low imp injectors, standard coil packs with copper plugs. The temp sensor isn't working as it should, so I've ordered a new one. The engine was mapped to 590hp as I have rebuilt from scratch, deleting those balance shafts, new oil pump and water pump, forged everything and twin plate clutch. I cannot for the life of me understand this high revving, it's really weird.

    • @bdalchemist
      @bdalchemist  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once u change the TPS u need to adjust it, so it reads what it's supposed to at closed throttle. Check for leaks, check the biss screw and offcourse ur tune

    I'm confused at the part where you said "at 160 load x 110% at 3500 RPMS bring you to 220 load area"? maybe my calculations are wrong but 160 X 110% gives your 16 more so wouldn't it be at 172 load?

    • @bdalchemist
      @bdalchemist  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct sir, I made an error. But what I was meant to say was if ur at 160load and at 110% ve and ur next load cell is 180 or 240 and not granulated enough , it will take the value of the next load cell after 160 and interpolate it. I definitely made an error on description. I even said "what's is that 16 more?"I should really make a script before doing these vids. Thank you for the heads up.

  • @7sins979

    This seems wildly inaccurate and if this is indeed how "speed density" works on the evo ecu i would not use it. your voltage to pressure should stay linear for the map sensor. the only reason to change that table is to set it up for the sensor you are using. the target afr table should be just that, target afr, tune it just like you would for a maf setup. the VE table should be the table used to setup base fueling to hit the targets set in the target afr table.
    looking at the latest tephra speed density appears to work as it should if you understand how to tune VE based systems. I have little reason to get away from the maf sensor right now or i would try it here but i tune haltechs regularly and tuned my dsm on SD and they all work the same. the speed density patch page on evolutionM also says to scale the MAP linearly.
    I can't speak to the X but the IX is not a hybrid setup and comes with a 2 bar sensor which will measure up to 202kpaa, 29.4 psia, or +14.7 psig. the maf is used full time on the IX and like the 2g dsm that map sensor is used for egr feedback. although it can be repurposed to log boost or convert over to speed density.
    playing with the voltage scaling of your map sensor so it shows different load values is the wrong way to do it. you even describe why it is wrong when you say it throws timing off as well.
    Volumetric efficiency tuning uses the ideal gas law to calculate air mass instead of measuring it then the ecu can use stoichiometry like normal to calculate the fuel mass to deliver and calculate the injector pulse to command.

    • @7sins979
      @7sins979 ปีที่แล้ว

      also for the love of god do not use fuel temp in place of air temp. that value is used to calculate the density of the air coming into the engine and is not remotely reflected in fuel temp.

    • @clutchboi4038
      @clutchboi4038 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The speed density kit I'm looking at from JD customs has an air inlet temp sensor so I think he is indeed wrong about needing to maintain the maf.
      To be fair though I think he was merely talking about the effect of not mapping the sensor correctly and the potential effects that would have. He then said it shouldn't be done that way and fuel delivery should be taken care of in the fuel map. so eh.
