    Dude I did work at the Ford steel plant on the coil machine and the coils are moved around by small diesel trains to different parts of the plant. If you want to be amazed at something go watch how they manufacture the steel and turn it into the huge coils that they use to make the trucks. But be prepared for some noise and heat.

      I thought it might be something like that! That would be awesome to see in person. Noise and heat, I can imagine!

    Thank you for the visit to the Ford complex that I never would have gotten. I kept thinking the Security Gestapo is going to rush in on you from all sides in black pursuit vehicles and you'd miss the wedding. It's amazing to see the enormity of the total campus and imagine the complexity of what it takes in each building to perform its intended tasks. Those white rims are very reminiscent of rims used in top tier sports car class racing years ago. Obviously not a serious rally class contender, but it would be enjoyed by its owner amongst all the other contenders available when buying. My dad worked in a Ford factory in his late teens until he was badly injured in an overhead crane accident. Ford was major contributor to Michigan State University and they placed him there to get an education during his long road back to decent mobility. Funny to have you point out King Ranch edition trucks parked parked in that lot. I had an older King's Ranch edition stopped in traffic next to me yesterday. When my dad taught veterinary medicine at Texas A & M, he went on veterinary calls to the King Ranch. I'd still want to see charging stations being able to re-charge battery banks in RVs. As the wicked witch quipped in the Wizard of Oz, "All in good time my dear ". It would be nice to have the solar panels charge the toad. Hope the wedding and related festivities went well.

      I was waiting for that as well! Not a single person showed up, surprisingly! That's a good thing they took care of your dad. It sounds like they had some appreciation for their workers, and some integrity to do the right thing. I suspect that's just not the case anymore, sadly. I now want to check out the real King Ranch! And I'm sure with future "electric RVs" that propel themselves, we'll see more and more trailers or motorhomes at these charging stations.

      @@CozyLivingMachine No, Ford is not the benevolent protector of its employees. That was the sanitized version of my dad's saga with Ford. As an employee he climbed up to dislodge an overhead crane that had gotten stuck. Whatever he did to free it coincided with a hot-headed wanna be foreman (you know the kind, you had one in the Costco parking lot) who came onto the floor, saw the stopped line and without inquiring about WHY, demanded everyone get back to work and threw the main electrical switch to energize the that part of the factory the crane ran over my dad. They had to run it back over him in the opposite direction to free him. Harnessed him and lowered him to the shop floor and laid him out on a steel work table and brought in a Ford nurse to sit with him all night as he wasn't expected to live. Still alive in the morning they transported him to the Ford hospital to treat for multiple bone fractures the worst being the pelvis. Long stay in the hospital and of no physical use to Ford, they started a series of steps towards his dismissal. Corporate Ford (and others) wanted to wash their hands of anyone injured in their plants. But in time Ford was found liable for his injuries and Michigan State University was the cheapest solution in the long run. He did lose his wife and 1st child through divorce as she didn't want to be married to a cripple. As odd as this sounds one of the jobs they put him on was security driving the factory's bounders - for intruders, yeah, similar to you and that drone. Bouncing about in the car was just too much for the joints and pelvis though it got better over the years.
      Hope you're all well and safe, including Sam. Have a good July 4th.

    Impressive to see all of that; like you I think they prices are just insane; finally I am surprised that no one came run out and run you off when you were flying that drone.

    Cool look at the Ford property. I loved the drone shots as always and kept waiting to hear the grunt of you being tackled by some overzealous security guard!

    Wild! We have been watching your channel for a couple years now and you have drone video of exactly the building I used to work in at footage 11:03 Ford Building #1 the engine engineer building. Unfortunately they sent my career job to India so it is also the circular driveway that they handed me my boxes during vovid 😢. Cool and sad all at once.

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, hello! I never even thought to consider what effects 2020 had on the engineering and design side of things... I wouldn't have guessed that the engine engineering roles would have made it to India. That building didn't look terribly busy, so that makes more sense now. I imagine that you were probably screaming at your screen whenever I guessed wrong about what each building does or prototypes and such. 😂

    Hey Joel , great tours ! So from my car circle the talk is the F-150 Lightening sales are bad as well as the MachE. The new retro Bronco apparently is not doing well either. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 78k for a truck with that King Ranch trim level is not too bad compared to some I’ve driven it the 80’s, 90’s and even over 100k. It’s unbelievable how expensive trucks have become. I delivered a new Hummer to a customer the other day and it was only 106k 😂

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've heard the same thing! I'm a little surprised about the Bronco, but it doesn't seem like the engine is quite what it was all hyped up to be. People blame inflation and interest rates, but I think it has much more to do with quality and design, myself. $106k for a mall crawler... 🫣

      @@CozyLivingMachine Ya I guess the front suspension on the Bronco breaks during off road use 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mall crawler 😂😂👍👍👍

      WHAT?! Ford engineering... Not much of a comparison to the Wrangler, is it?!

    • @georges4562
      @georges4562 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CozyLivingMachine I would say no real competition. The Hummer was actually really nice with a very cool dash etc. it’s also bigger than the wrangler too, and they’re a lot more money. The one I delivered was definitely going to be a mall crawler only 😂

    The MACH E is the best looking EV on the road today...If they put a turbo charged V6 in that puppy I would buy one.

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If only they changed the only reason it exists. 🤣 I get it, it would be a nice little cross-over with both drivetrains I think! Maybe take some of the electronic crap out, like the door handles.

  • @RamblinRoadies
    @RamblinRoadies 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I was watching the Car Guy a couple of days ago, and he said that they have about 1+ years of inventory of the Mach E, and they are not selling well. I think it was a mistake to call it a Mustang. Too much history and tradition with Mustang to do that.

      Absolutely agreed, I don't think it was the right call, personally. Some folks fell for it, of course, but I think those that could be convinced have been.
