This boss is so annoying. The whole game has happily let you progress without perfect guarding, dodge and attaack has worked fine. Even his first phase is easy with this technique. The second phase feels like the developers have all of a sudden decided only perfect guarding is viable. Dodge and punish just doesn't work
In my case i could hold guard (If you have some guard regain talents) for the fast flurries. Then attack after, or make a perfect guard at the last attack in chain (Even better if you have "perfect guard regains guard regain as HP talent), to regain most of the hp you lost for holding block on the faster combos.

It is, I spent three days using the shield then said screw it im going to be aggressive. Beat him in a few more tries. Spam guard his quick flurries and only use the shield on the heave attack lunges and aerial type moves. WAAAAAY easier.
@CernyGaming But you’re missing the point. You shouldn’t have to use the shield to beat him. (The shield doesn’t work as well as people say) The boss shouldn’t be this hard. The game’s combat doesn’t fit this boss. They screwed it up trying to please the git gud crowd instead of making a fun, engaging fight.
To everyone struggling with phase 2, BLOCKING with your weapon is better than being hit! You'll never parry if you never block, and you can recover some HP back if you rush him. Block with your weapon and circle around the phase 2 combos. Don't forget to swing between openings, light swings, just regain your HP and keep adding damage. I used trident of the covenant to take advantage of punishment damage P can deal after a boss swings. I think this might be exclusive to spears, I really don't know. Didn't use Aegis, I just parried and blocked. Used double use grinder with blight, buffed at the start of both phases. Pandamonium didn't help, I wouldn't suggest any arm but Aegis(Its pretty tight if you clutch with it, like in this video). You can parry him, just remember not to get greedy after your parry chains. TBH I forgot aegis existed till I started struggling in this boss but had no plugs so I was aegisless. Just remember you can dead angle out of some of his attacks, many swings flew over my head by moving against them. Move around, parry, block, and swing light whenever his swings pause. When his eyes glow yellow for his fury rushdown, the eyes signal he's locked into a direction. Move out of the way once you see a yellow gleam. By far his worst attack for me was breaking my guard then doing a fury attack, manage your stamina and let some of his phases pass by to recover if you need. I also used the stamina regen ring. REMEMBER Don't heal in his face mid-combo, survive till he pauses then heal. Greeding a heal is the fastest way to get smacked! Good luck, I beat him, and so can you!
I struggled more and more with each boss in this game, and as much as I love the lore and the exploration, I'm tapping out after the Door Guardian. I beat it, but the the experience was so unpleasant. Not even close to what I call fun in games. I lived through the horrors of 8-bit, and I'm not doing it again. Too much for my skill set (but kudos to anyone who can do it).
I'd had troubles beating the "corrupted parade master" and I used a spectre for the swamp monster, but I managed to beat them. I've been with the nameless puppet for 2 days now and I can't beat it. I'm about to give up. This puppet is a nightmare for me.
The Nameless Puppet definitely puts all other bosses in the game to shame. It's impressively done but definitely one of the most punishing bosses I've come across in the genre. If she didn't have the self heal on strike, I'd put the Nameless Puppet on the same level as Melania from Elden Ring. That heal gives her an edge though.
I beat the boss bro but yeah it's not worth it. I never felt any satisfaction like you experience with Fromsoft bosses. Turn it off. Bin it, sell it or lock it away forever so your mental health will never be destroyed again. This boss was designed for Rain Man
Don't give up. But know if u want the platnium you have to beat him twice I barley did it on original game and can destroy his first form in Ng+ but his second form is working me
This boss fight is so fricken hard. I hate to repeat what others have said but the parry window in this game feels unfair. It feels like the window is so small it's hard to even duplicate twice in a row many times.
Agree with you. This is completely unfair. At least Phase 2 is. I can get through phase 1 90% of time, but not once got below 50% on phase 2. Really sucks
Not to mention if you miss a parry you lose health the risk to reward is not balanced in a game like sekiro or even dark souls if you miss a parry only your posture or stamina gets affected in this game its health why would i risk health when dodging gives me more chance to avoid damage. For a game that wants you to even encourages you to parry the devs forget that learning the mechanic shouldn't be punishment.
I just beat this guy on NG+. My p-organ had pretty much no guard upgrades but all health flasks and legion, plus 4 amulet slots. I only respecced the arm to fully upgrade Aegis, this was the first time I ever used that arm but it made the whole fight really easy. With my amount of legion I was able to keep the Aegis shield up for most of the fight and hacked away at the boss with the electric coil stick and the puppet ripper. I didn't even need the grindstone. Amulets for more stamina and faster stamina regen were a life saver. The only attacks I really had to dodge were the red sword attacks in phase 2 where he leaves a trail that explodes. Great guides, keep up the good work!
This was encouraging; almost every guide I watch always has the Twin Dragon sword. I know that thing is basically every player's revolutionary weapon, but I can't get the hang of it and it's just annoying that when I try to get advice as a basic gamer rather than one of those god-like pros that is able to do a hundred tricks with a samurai sword - besides that, I just personally think the katana hype is just so overdone. It's very nice to see someone else using the Puppet Ripper scythe to defeat Nameless Puppet. The scythe has always been my specialty, but it's been especially hard with Nameless Puppet because he's so OP.
I'm glad you liked it! I love the range and stance damage on the Puppet Ripper. Since I got it, it's been my favourite weapon in every playthrough by a long shot.
@@CernyGaming and besides that, I’m usually a Mage type of player, so anything that helps me fight from a distance is definitely a must. Of course since there’s no magic options in Lies of P, have to make do with Advance build as well as working direct combat with Technique tactics. So the Puppet Ripper is the best choice for me personally.
Well, largely the community seems to agree. Most folk don't like having to completely redesign their character to stand a chance. I enjoyed the challenge, but not everyone is into that level of punishment!
Phase 1 is quite well done, phase 2 on the other hand is way over the top. I don’t like the idea of needing a respec to beat a boss, my biggest issue seems to be lack of stamina meaning I can’t parry, block or punish after the relentless flurries this boss dishes out in P2. At least in P1 you get a few moments to breathe.
@@spcbrass I beat him on NG & NG+ , stamina definitely helps with this boss , I levelled mine to 30 in NG+ , with enough practice you can start to read phase 2 but its always hectic.
@@XenomorphRNA mine was only at 18, took it up to 25 and breezed through phase 1. Phase two came down to a balance of dodging, parries and throwable’s when I got the chance to get a few off in succession. Put them on the quick slot belt. Also used puppet string as a gap closer in both phases.

I deleted the game at this boss. Simply, will never buy anything from these developers again. Blocking people from having the good ending is very bad practice. They think they will clone Malenia! Malenia was optional and we can use summons in the fight. However, this shows how poor are these developers and how they just want to brag about WE HAVE MORE DIFFICULT BOSSES than fromsoftware. Screw you and screw your games. I am confident their next game will have less sales.
My strat is twin dragon sword. You need to remember some attack pattern but the longer one are perfect to charge attack parry. Especially when he goes red you can easily counter those. The window for that is much bigger than normal deflect Second phase is similar and I throw as much throwable as I can while trying to dodge the attacks. Barely beat him with a cheeky dash in fable art but definitely doable. I tried to poking strat and it didn’t feel as good as the twin sword
First off I’m not a good souls player absolutely Nadia. But I beat Elden Ring 3 times to get all achievements. Felt a bit proud tbh 😀. But this game is brutal in parts lol. I’m currently stuck on the nameless Puppet in new game plus. I got a feeling it’s going to haunt me in my dreams very soon! This does NOT WORK ANYMORE. The game must have changed, you CAN NOT just hold up your Aegis like that anymore, you continue to loose legion just by holding it up. So they seem to have patched this.
@@CernyGaming Well then you are on an outdated game version or something. Like I said when you hold aegis up the Legion bar depletes just for holding it up. It does NOT do that for him in the video. I run out extremely fast even in the 1st phase, just 3 items for refill is not enough to do both phases with both phases using Aegis as a shield constantly like this.

I was stuck for days. Watched this, then went in and beat it completely differently. Idk why im mentioning this. Used the scythe weapon like him but never used legion and only fable once 😂 key for me was roling into him and striking behind during phase 2
Some bad information here, you absolutely do not want to be using the shock grindstone. Phase 1 is extremely easy to dodge or parry everything in, your best bet for phase 1 is honestly to just parry everything for fast staggers and phase 1 goes down easily. Phase 2 is the problem, and you need the grindstone that turns your guard into auto perfect guard, shock grindstone will not help you as you arent getting enough hits in a row to proc the shock. Another thing that helps a LOT is throwing items, but again, save everything for phase 2. Phase 1 is extremely easy once you have seen it once to parry everything, so save everything and pull out all the stops for phase 2.
A few simple tips: when he crouches down with swords at his side and starts glowing red, the move where he instantly charges across the arena at you, start running to the side. He will miss his charge and end up right beside you, easy to punish with a few hits. When he does the move where he pokes forward, instantly followed by another poke, then another poke and finally a leap into the air that slams down, dont guard that. As he is about to slam down to the ground, roll towards him, through the explosion, and you get a few free hits to punish him. When he leaps into the air and starts spinning with air moving around him, the move where he travels through the air towards you, roll towards him as he is coming towards you, he will land beside you, now be mindful he does do an additional slash after he lands, but this is another move that is extremely easy to punish with a hit or two.
"Bad information" and "something different from what I do" are not one and the same thing. My method worked for me, and trivialised the fight. You do you, buddy.
Phase 1 is decently easy, much easier than Champion Victor or many other bosses up til this point. I can no-hit phase 1, the reason I'm even on this video is because I'm getting my shit pushed in by phase 2 :'(@@EmilyRose0
unironically beat it a few minutes later , the entire game I have been trying to perfect guard every boss attack and it mostly worked. With this boss however, it did NOT. I would end up missing the timings on the second phase twin blades flurry. As soon as I started using guard regen and a few perfect guards here and there, it went so SMOOTHLY.
I can pretty much parry the whole first phase.. but I just get destroyed in the second phase. I'm going to try the Aegis shield. I was never a fan of it, as I don't know how it works. Like how to do a counter attack. but I'll try

Because they wanted to please the git gud crowd and they wanted bragging rights for having the hardest boss. They think that having an overly-difficult boss is “cool” and makes their game awesome. It doesn’t. It leaves a huge stain on the game and wipes out all of the hard work you spent on the game.

This boss, in my opinion, leaves a massive stain on what is otherwise a good game. To lock a good ending behind such an unnecessarily-difficult fight was a bad choice. The issue with them not balancing/nerfing this boss more is it really does send the wrong message to people about any future games. If they fail to understand why this boss needs an update, then I’m not confident that they will learn from their mistakes and make better choices in future games. It makes me want to skip over anything else they do and stick with FromSoftware. No one thinks tedious, overly-difficult garbage like the Nameless Puppet is fun. There is a reason why FromSoftware hasn’t made a boss like this; because they actually understand the damn Souls formula and how to balance it.
This is the worst boss in the history of gaming. I could not beat this guy and I gave up my heart to get into NG+. What a horrible final boss. It's like the developers were like "Oh, everyone complains about final bosses being easy. Let's make sure that doesn't happen with our game. That's right! We're gonna cheat!"
After 30 tries i can confirm this strategy doe NOT work. @nd phase you cannot be aggressive and sit behind Aegis.. he moves ALL OVER THE PLACE. He won't go toe to toe. You have to chase him around. This boss is ridiculous if you're a casual player. At least give me a specter!!! For fucks sake Malenia and Elden Beast weren't this bad!!!

I can parry the first phase perfectly. Second phase however. Farthest I've gotten is about half health. Just wish it was possible without the shield.
It's possible with excellent reflexes and a loooot of practise. For us mere humans, a shield is our best bet.

the problem with blocking is that Phase 2 the Nameless Puppet doesn't give a moment to breath and repair the weapon.

NP is my last boss after i beat him I'm done with this genre of games i just don't have the time for these kinds of games and the stress is not fun.

I was stuck for days. Watched this, then went in and beat it completely differently. Idk why im mentioning this. Used the scythe weapon like him but never used legion and only fable once 😂 key for me was roling into him and striking behind during phase 2

Some bad information here, you absolutely do not want to be using the shock grindstone. Phase 1 is extremely easy to dodge or parry everything in, your best bet for phase 1 is honestly to just parry everything for fast staggers and phase 1 goes down easily. Phase 2 is the problem, and you need the grindstone that turns your guard into auto perfect guard, shock grindstone will not help you as you arent getting enough hits in a row to proc the shock. Another thing that helps a LOT is throwing items, but again, save everything for phase 2. Phase 1 is extremely easy once you have seen it once to parry everything, so save everything and pull out all the stops for phase 2.
A few simple tips: when he crouches down with swords at his side and starts glowing red, the move where he instantly charges across the arena at you, start running to the side. He will miss his charge and end up right beside you, easy to punish with a few hits. When he does the move where he pokes forward, instantly followed by another poke, then another poke and finally a leap into the air that slams down, dont guard that. As he is about to slam down to the ground, roll towards him, through the explosion, and you get a few free hits to punish him. When he leaps into the air and starts spinning with air moving around him, the move where he travels through the air towards you, roll towards him as he is coming towards you, he will land beside you, now be mindful he does do an additional slash after he lands, but this is another move that is extremely easy to punish with a hit or two.
"Bad information" and "something different from what I do" are not one and the same thing. My method worked for me, and trivialised the fight. You do you, buddy.
Typical souls dude, calls everything "extremely easy" yeah sure just watch phase 1 once and there you go "extremely easy" next try.
Phase 1 is decently easy, much easier than Champion Victor or many other bosses up til this point. I can no-hit phase 1, the reason I'm even on this video is because I'm getting my shit pushed in by phase 2 :'(@@EmilyRose0

unironically beat it a few minutes later , the entire game I have been trying to perfect guard every boss attack and it mostly worked. With this boss however, it did NOT. I would end up missing the timings on the second phase twin blades flurry. As soon as I started using guard regen and a few perfect guards here and there, it went so SMOOTHLY.

I can pretty much parry the whole first phase.. but I just get destroyed in the second phase. I'm going to try the Aegis shield. I was never a fan of it, as I don't know how it works. Like how to do a counter attack. but I'll try
I didn't use aegis before this fight. Practise on some mobs - it's pretty easy when you get used to it.
I've been holding down the agis shield button on my playstation and it just evaporates the legion meter. I'm not sure this is viable on all platforms?
Will the 3 Legion Charges be enough or do I have to full re-design my P-Organs to get the extra consumables as well?
I got through the boss pretty quickly, and I used 5 in that time. Give it a shot and see, but I expect you'll need the 5.
@@CernyGaming I see,thank you.I get through the First Phase fairly easy withou even using the Shield but the 2nd gets really tricky and I can't seen to beat it with 3 but it's always really close,like 5-7 hits away from dying so I'm just gaslighting myself I'll parry normally and kill it 'cause I'm too stubborn and bored to redesign P-Organs xd

Parry is not an option? common dude I can easily parry phase 1 but I can't see his moves because of effect at phase 2
Was this recorded pre patch or post patch? He's doing a lot more damage to me and i have 40 vitality.

Because they wanted to please the git gud crowd and they wanted bragging rights for having the hardest boss. They think that having an overly-difficult boss is “cool” and makes their game awesome. It doesn’t. It leaves a huge stain on the game and wipes out all of the hard work you spent on the game.

Up until this boss I did pretty much the same thing simply because I never block in these games. Had to for this guy though.

This boss, in my opinion, leaves a massive stain on what is otherwise a good game. To lock a good ending behind such an unnecessarily-difficult fight was a bad choice.
The issue with them not balancing/nerfing this boss more is it really does send the wrong message to people about any future games. If they fail to understand why this boss needs an update, then I’m not confident that they will learn from their mistakes and make better choices in future games. It makes me want to skip over anything else they do and stick with FromSoftware.
No one thinks tedious, overly-difficult garbage like the Nameless Puppet is fun. There is a reason why FromSoftware hasn’t made a boss like this; because they actually understand the damn Souls formula and how to balance it.

He seems to be healing rapidly, even getting away to heal. Wtf?
This boss is designed to be much like the player. He will periodically jump back and use a pulse cell to heal.
phase 1 is free but phase 2 is just bullshit
This is the worst boss in the history of gaming. I could not beat this guy and I gave up my heart to get into NG+. What a horrible final boss. It's like the developers were like "Oh, everyone complains about final bosses being easy. Let's make sure that doesn't happen with our game. That's right! We're gonna cheat!"
It is definitely up there with some of the toughest bosses I've ever come across in games. If you don't semi-cheese it like this, it's insane.
Make no mistake, this boss is flatout just bad. It is hard for all the wrong reasons. Round8/Neowiz screwed it up. Period.

After 30 tries i can confirm this strategy doe NOT work. @nd phase you cannot be aggressive and sit behind Aegis.. he moves ALL OVER THE PLACE. He won't go toe to toe. You have to chase him around. This boss is ridiculous if you're a casual player. At least give me a specter!!! For fucks sake Malenia and Elden Beast weren't this bad!!!

I loved this fight to be honest. I found a lot of this game to be very easy, and I thought that such an ultimate challenge to finish it off really made the game for me.
