I feel like your hands are a lot stronger than what you give yourself credit for. Great video

aha I'm humbled, I similarly broke three bolts with my recent b20vtec build. uneven camcap 12mm, over tightening the 10mm camcap bolt to the 12mm spec only to realize halfway through the last big turn of the torque wrench, and the last one for the oilpump I left in the block because I didn't wanna re-do the silicone again for the third time(first two times were front main seal fiascos) lol theres still a couple threads and the rest of the bolts holding the thing on. woes of my first engine build, fun stories now looking back at those worrysome times. I'm excited to keep following along to this build, can't wait to see the car rippin. love the content and tips for people new to this all.

Thank you I’m glad you enjoy it. I got creative in removing the next broken bolt, I hope that’s the last.
I purposely keep my mistakes in so hopefully I make them for everyone. My main goal is to make people confident enough to do engine work themselves. This is my first attempt at it, I’ve never even done a lawn mower engine or anything. Hopefully it actually works haha

Looking good! Would you suggest decking my M54 as a part of making it track ready? I want to do all the bearings and such before track season, but there isn't much time. I'm not sure if I can get away with throwing a new head gasket on without milling the surface. I think removing material to increase the compression ratio would be useful in my case to make more power, but will probably do it next winter, along with cams and an ECU.

If you take the cylinder head off you can use a straight edge and feeler gauges to check for any warping. You lay the straight edge along each side and across. You use feeler gauges to see if there's a gap anywhere. There's good videos out there on it, I recommend Jaffromobile.

I have a k20 engine that was rebuilt about 5 years ago now and I left it sitting in my garage. now it has some light corrosion on the rocker arms and spark plug tubes. Im wondering if it would be wise to take the rocker arm assembly off and clean off the rust before running the engine.

I would, you want no contamination.

@@IGDesigns I was thinking of just dry ice blasting it so I don’t have to disassemble anything

K20a2 head on a k24a block, use a k24 headgasket and remove coolant diverter or keep the diverter?

    Glad You're back!
I hope You've vacuumed that drilled bolt pieces ;)
Why did it snap? Was torque set too high or what?

I did, I should have showed that.
I have no idea, my wrench was set for the spec, I think it’s from being used previously
