Straight and to the point, Justice Chelameshwar.. he knows what he is doing, and doing so in such a way, that it hits the right notes wit the right people.. there will always be a bunch of clowns questioning Chelameshwar's role or whom he met, but the word is clear about his stance and the problems which exist in the judiciary today..

Justice Chelameshwar seems very clear and straightforward with what he's trying to say. I felt Thapar was quite poor in this interview trying to twist words and act smart - very amateurish performance for such a senior journalist.

Politicians are sold out, administrative staffs are sold out, police are sold out, media is totally sold out. Judiciary is the one and only hope we have, the pillar that still stands upright. Even if its slow and some times biased against the poor and weak, we Indians irrespective of our languages, religions, caste, gender.. We put our faith in the Judiciary. Because if Judiciary is also sold out, then we have have no hope for the nation. Please don't let Judiciary, or at least the upper echelons of Judiciary but come corrupted and politicised. Stand with justice. That alone will do.

      this nation is getting super-critical
all failsafe are failing. ... only this last one remains. judiciary. but it too has started corroding. .... all thanks to a certain some party n its ideological believers.
the day this last failsafe blows.... india will cease to exist the way it is.
it will crumble, and breakup into petty states and fall into chaos . have you seen some middle east nations just dont exist anymore.

I recollect Justic Chelameswar having been extremely effortlessly gutsy enough to remind the prime minister (Mr. Modi) who was sitting on the podium with several others, in front of a large gathering of people from the Supreme court, of the pathetic state of infrastructure in the Supreme court itself.
That was the day he became one of the many people I admire.
This talk shows his sharpness and straightforward method of speaking facts.
Hats off to him and people like him.
50 years later, people will be cursing folks like Narendra Modi, spitting on people like Amit Shah, and will be speaking with appreciation about people like Justice Chelameswar. As for Arun Jaitley, he will be as less discussed as many of the ministers and cabinet of the 1960s whose names we today don't even know!

The appointment of judges should have a change..IJS (INDIAN JUDICIAL SERVICE) should be there like IAS..IPS..IES...there is a suggestion in the original constitutiin but so for its a dead letter...to become a smaller most judge ue JFCM ...competitive exam is there with nearly 30 major and minor acts as syllabi...to become an ADJ competitive exam ...but to enter higher judiciary why not a competitive exam....BECAUSE all NATIONAL parties wants to keep judiciary under their control....this selection process has a different competitive exam that syllabi will not be notified it depends upon individuals nexus with XYZ...(you can interpritate this at your own choice of WORDS) ...in our country so far higher judiciary has been filled on the basis of ancestral grounds ...just you can check it out by going through the list of judges since the days of independence...PRESENT APPOINTMENT SYSTEM IN HIGHER JUDICIARY MAKING THE SYSTEM MORE DEPENDENT but not INDEPENDENT...if the exam is kept like ADJS 99% of the bench comes out and has to sit in the BAR ....i am writing all this to make the future indian JUDICIARY brighter...more democratic...INDEPENDENT...i wish to see intellectual brains in the higher judiciary ....from inside the sytem there is a lot of tug of war between the political parties to plant their men in higher Judiciary ....WITHOUT TALKING ANY THING ON THIS PARTICULAR POINT EVERYONE TALK TO PROTECT THEIR INTERESTS...so much to say but i have my own work....YOUTH OF INDIA WAKEUP AND QUESTION THIS AT LEAST YOU CHANGE THIS AND SAVE JUDICIARY....demand for IJS...

He should be made president of India so that he can take revenge on mishra.this Mishra should be taught a stern lesson by public flogging with live worldwide TV transmission.

Justice chelmeshwar was admittedly a big & judge of impeccable judicial integrity but they have not told the country that from whom democracy is in danger, they made press conference only when CJI neglected them from important cases alloting cases to Junior judges not for the public issues pending during their times, babree mosque was demolished only when Supreme Court permitted kar seva otherwise it is on record that most senior lawyers cautioned SC,the story goes upto Raffael,EVMS & VVPATs,with the case of lady employee who alleged against CJI Gogoi the last golden dictum that Caesar,s wife must be above suspicion is gone, public is getting educated, atrocities in the name of judicial independence is not going to last forever, aura can not be imposed on public by might of state through police or favouring the political masters, naked truths are surfacing vastly, oath to constitution doesn’t make a person upholder of majesty of constitutional values,it only saves one from direct prosecution like common man molesting the law

There are people who say that he is a great judge, there is no doubt in that. But the dissent in NJAC was also noteworthy. We need separation of powers in our system. But that doesn't mean that the creatures of the Constitution will become superior to it. There has to be a check on each organ be it the legislature, judiciary or the executive.
