      I'm 43 and yeah, never in my life have I seen an actual ad for Old Dutch. It looks like they used to advertise, though:
      th-cam.com/video/UA0733IJSAQ/w-d-xo.html 1989
      th-cam.com/video/HLeaCUlj4RU/w-d-xo.html 1985

      th-cam.com/video/F3q3XO16b5I/w-d-xo.html 1978
      Based on those... I can see why advertising would seem like a waste of good money. 😂 But I mean the chip aisle is mostly them and Lay's anyway, so even if they got better, why pay for what you don't need?

      @restorer19 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was going to go on about how they use sodium diacetate, which separates into sodium acetate (not sour) and acetic acid (sour), but apparently a lot of chips these days, including Old Dutch, primarily use a mixture of sodium acetate; acetic acid; maltodextrin, which absorbs the acetic acid that's liquid at room temperature; dried malt vinegar, for the flavor; and some selection of other, stronger, granular acids like citric acid and malic acid, for bite. Some still use sodium diacetate, but not usually on its own. And they do use salt, because sodium acetate isn't all the salty-tasting.
      So yes, Linda, they do have both salt and vinegar. Discuss.
