WOW! Today I learned that Old Dutch isn't a Canadian Company!! Growing up in Hawaii, and now living in Oregon, I only had Old Dutch chips when visiting family in Canada. They seem to be ubiquitous there which made me assume that they were a Canadian Brand! Nothing beats Old Dutch Pickle and Ketchup flavors!
That’s funny! I live in Vancouver BC and always assumed they were a local company. Something about the old fashioned packaging I think. Anyway they are great chips.
Yes for years I thought Old Dutch c was a Canadian Company… but then learned they were based in Minnesota… they came to Canada (Winnipeg)in 1954…thank God… and have been my favourite chip for decades!… Thankyou Old Dutch and Minnesota!
I worked for Old Dutch back in early 74. I was stacking trays of boxes back in the warehouse for minimum wage which was about $3.50 an hour. I quit after a few months and worked for a landscaping outfit for a dollar less an hour just to get away from that boring job. Every time my nose gets a whiff of that potato chip smell the memories come flooding back to me.
I could not believe they still come in boxes. I worked in a chip factory outside Chicago and we made a regional brand once every two weeks for the Gary, IN, market. It was cooked in pure lard. 1983-8. Ever heard of Jay's potato chips?
My first day they're working in the warehouse catching stacking boxes as I stood there and stared at the conveyor belt all day long waiting for my boxes that never came
@ 3:26, the guy in the middle comes across as a complete primadonna, pompous jerk. Come on man, it's supposed to be a fun segment. He acts like he's allergic to potato chips. I don't think he's a team player.
I thought the Ketchup flavour were quite disgusting when they came out but they grow on you. I kind of like them now. Haven't seen Onion n' Garlic in DECADES.

I always thought the same thing, much better than Lays any day, and All dressed is new to them, not new to us

Minimum wage in 1974 was 2.00 an hour. I worked for the RR as a clerk back then making 3.65 an hour to start and lived pretty good which was amazing
And in Canada old Dutch has ketchup chips 😂
Absolutely love Old Dutch potato chips! My all time favourite flavour is rare to see these days: garlic and onion 🤤
When I lived in Lacrosse, WI, I used to love their cheese curls. Melted in my mouth. Circa 1965-9.
Best chips in the world.
I worked there in 2018 and loved it 😔
I miss the plant in East Grand Forks, MN. I felt proud having the plant here.
I can't get Old Dutch where I am now. They were always fresh.
My mother would send me the Dill Pickle chips when I was stationed in Germany. So good.

Anyone tried the jalapeño cheddar tortilla chips? They’re always out of stock so I’m guessing they must be good

Is hard or easy being a packager?
Too bad they don't pay well enough. Hubby loved his job but couldn't stay since he couldn't afford to
They are paying above average wages for route drivers and relief drivers right now.
Best potato chips
I always thought it looked like Old Outch because of the roundish font lol
The best chip on the market in North America
You might be Minnesotan if your chips come in a box.
Cheap lard was how that company got up to speed! I can't get enough lard! My doctor told me to stop eating them so I found a new doctor!
