- Demon 170 VS GOLD modded Redeye Hellcat drag race. Demonology event The Big Showdown
*ERROR, stated that octane was 76. Meant percentage of ethanol as stated by ethanol sensor. Car had 1/8 tank 74% ethanol. Added 5 gallons of Boostane Ethanol Race fuel.
Good to see what a regular 170 runs in the real world instead of the prepped car run in Las Vegas. Wonder if the tires move on the CF wheels? Anyway, for all the owners that have never made a single pass, they just say their car runs high 8's at 150 MPH during the Cars and Coffee event. And for that group, most would be lucky to break 10.50. Looks like with a wheel mod and some better air you would be running right in the area of other times that have posted - high 9's seems outstandiing for your first event. You mentioned that the drivetrain has not experienced any issues. Hope that continues to be the case as RacerX is one TH-camr that has some unknown issues that I hope turn out to be a one off gremlin. Look forward to your next event.
hey thanks Joe! I was just happy that I got faster every time I ran. If I can get down to a 1.2ish 60 foot I might reach my goal of 9.30 1/4 mile.
Demon 170's are having a lot of problems straight from the factory, unfortunately. Not many owners are happy after spending soo much.
I know about fit and finish issues. I know about RacerX having his car stuck in the shop without a resolution yet. What other problems are you referrring to? A specific problem area or just random issues? Fairly well documented that overall quality was worse on last call models as you would expect with the factory closing. The level of problems and lack of technical support has not deterred many buyers who are still paying 40-50K over MSRP for cars with carbon fiber wheels on BAT and even more at Mecum or BJ.
That is the only place I’ve seen a demon. At the gas station.

At a half tank after it corrects everything mine shows like 89 miles, on 93.
It gives me a VERY optimistic 210 estimate at a full tank

I’ve got a little bit of tire spin on the rim as well and was dropping psi and was told to raise psi to see if it helped. Got a couple events coming up I’m going to start at 21lbs and go from there.
My tire guy told me to bring him some hairspray and he was going to fix it ??
I havent checked yet to see if my tires have spun on the wheels taking my kids to school. Ill mark them monday morning

Use e85 not octane boosters. E85 wayy better and safer.
I’ve got a 2017 825rwhp ZL1 running 10.2@138. Like you my et doesn’t match my mph but I’ve decided that maybe it’s ok I’m not dead hooking and breaking stuff even though it’s not built as stout as the demon. I hate breaking stuff and having the car sit on the sidelines. I feel for racer x!

Best I have run is 10.8 at 128 in my 2015 hellcat. Hope to be in the 9’s here soon. Getting sent to get built at end of the week.
That’s a good time for a 707hp car! Best I ran at that power level was 11.2, on all seasons PS4 though
Yes I love my car unfortunately the blower is having to be rebuilt. Guess I am one of those lucky 2015 owners lol
@@TyZo6 I just added a 3.8 whipple on my 16 Hellcat. Ate the trans immediately! How much was the rebuild?
It’s a 1000 for blower and snout. Plus they are putting better parts in it not just oem. Yeah I am trying to keep power little under 900 wheel so maybe trans be happy for a while.

I assume you were running in drag mode with the chiller on, did you notice what the air inlet temps were when it pulled timing?
I did run the chiller bit did not use race cooldown mode since you have to open the hood and didnt want to forget nd run with it open. It was about 85 degrees. Dont know you could see air inlet temps?
@@LastCallDemon170 In your instrument cluster where it showed the tire pressure, just left arrow once and the intercooler temp will show up.
@@pro5.019 thanks for the tip! People dont realize how much effort it takes to race and get footage at the same time...line lock, transbrake coolers ect...then all the video stuff and commentating...whew! But that will be an intersting thing to check out for the next race!
@LastCallDemon170 It takes a lot to learn these cars, the electronics can be glitchy at times. I picked up my Sublime Green Demon 170 a month ago. Just running around on the street, the drivers side tire has spun on the rim 2 inches. Still playing with tire pressure to get it to hook, 15 inch would be the ticket. However, I don't want to grind anything on the suspension components or lose the parking brake.

You really need to learn to hold a steering wheel properly.. if you were any closer together, you'd break your elbows with your face if it went off... it's also lot of shoulder strain.
The Demon 170 is a pointless car for 100g+ and hasn't lived up to the hype...😅

Most owners are content to tell everyone how fast their expensive Demon is. Kudos for LCD getting it on the track and then posting up the real world results which allow everyone to critique both the car and his driving.
