How To Setup Arduino Wheel for Forza Horizon 4 using Forza_Emuwheel (Microsoft store version only)

- Hey guys, thanks for watching, as some of you requested.
This will show the way to make Arduino steering wheel work for forza horizon 4 (Microsoft Store Version only).
I hope this can help, I've done my best to make the video..
btw I'm not using my voice in this video, it was generated with Watson text to speech. I hope you don't mind.
Setup Guide: (as explained in the video)
1. Make sure you're running the Fall Creators Update on Windows 10 (Build 16299.xx) or later.
2. Download and install latest build of vJoy device driver : sourceforge.net/projects/vjoy...
3. Run Configure vJoy and set it up like this 00:58
4. Go to forzatools.weebly.com/forza-e...
5. Download latest version of Forza EmuWheel and extract the contents of the archive.
6. Run Configurator.exe and assign axes and buttons, using "SET" button for the corresponding bind.
7. Click "Save config" which will generate "configuration.json" file needed for Forza EmuWheel to run. (For editing an existing configuration, you can always click "Load config" and point to the location of current configuration.json").
8. Launch Hush and click "Mute" to mute your devices. You can always revert back by running Hush again and clicking "Unmute".
9. Run Forza EmuWheel and click "Start".
10. Launch forza horizon 4 and create custom mappings for the Wheel setting. (If your game didn't show anything on the WHEEL tab, try to highlight the LAYOUT with your keyboard arrow key, then click left / right key until it shows "Custom Wheel Profile").
11. Enjoy

Please Note: This is setting for my build(to make it feel the way i want it), different people might have different taste, so play around with the value to suit your preferences.

Note: Unfortunately this only work for Forza Horizon 4 from Microsoft store only. The steam version still does not support this method..

Its stated in the Forza Horizon 4 Known Issues list, Its a bug in steam version that doesn't display the Wheel Tab in controls, it might get fixed in the next update near 10th April.

@@hudaif1451 Not sure about dirt 3, but yes it works for dirt rally 2, supposedly its not gonna work, but there's a trick to make it work.. what i do is, edit the codes inside the game's device_defines.xml file.. So first go into the game's input devices folder, example: F:\All Program Files\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DiRT Rally 2.0\input\devices and open the device_defines.xml file with any text editor (Recommended Notepad++). then copy & paste this code just before the line code of and after whatever line code before it... What this does is to make the game recognize that the arduino wheel is a wheel that has FFB effect... hopefully this help ...

Not sure if i'm gonna make the video since I learn the "Setup Arduino" part from other TH-cam channel too. The only part where i figure it out my self is how to make it work for Forza Horizon 4.

Thanks for the great way to attach the steering wheel to the Forza Horizon. But I ran into a problem that I can't calibrate my pedals. i did try MMjoy2 and DXTweak2. it works well in Euro Truck Simulator 2. but it don't work well in forza. I will be happy if you can help me with that.

I managed to get my arduino wheel working on dirtrally2 but on forza7 my brake and throttle are on the y axis but the car is always accelerating. Maybe it required 2 different axes ?
try change the value of the dead-zone of your pedals in game setting...
@@PopicasaPOPStuDio thanks it was just a setup issue in which I needed the reverse one of the y axes for some reason. I had to do all the calibration in the arduino code since the windows game controller calibration is not respected by any of the new games. Basically moving trims and multiplying raw values so that the controller used the full travel in all directions prior to running the calibration. In the end I didnt end up using emuwheel at all.

What potentiometer do you use? I have to give my potentiometer a lot of travel to accelerate, and I tried to configure the game and nothing. I use a 100k linear potentiometer. Or some way to shorten the rotary travel of the potentiometer?
Im using 50K potentiometer and change the deadzone for gas,brake, and cluth in-game setting..

Have you set the Layout into Custom Wheel Profile?..if not, then in Wheel setting, try to highlight the LAYOUT with your keyboard arrow key, then click left / right key until it shows "Custom Wheel Profile".

i i use on g920 i have better force beedback this aplication give me a boost or what do for my wheel ? (my wheel function ok, not perfect)
I don't think you should use this application for your wheel.. since Logitech g920 is already supported by Forza Horizon 4.. and i don't think it will boost or give worse feeling to your wheel if you use the application.

So did you change anything on the code im using 4 potentiometers 3 as gas brake and vlutch pedals and 1 as steering and it doesnt work because just the analog 1 is set in the code
No i just used it as it is.. its just that im using 3 potentiometer as gas,brake and clutch. For the steering wheel im using optical encoder instead of potentiometer..

if so make sure its in device manager as enabled.. and then start emuwheel.. im having an issue with my adriuno pedals where only forza horizon 4 has my accelerator stuck at 9% . lol. werid

it should be there, but this is the old version of forza horizon 4, it might have changes in the latest version. mine are still available even with the latest version.. I don't know what made it disappear in your game. maybe there's some bug to the game.. try to play around the setting to see if they put it somewhere else.

Does your computer detect the Arduino? if it does it should be good, else I don't know.

Sorry man im not able to help you.. not sure whats going on there.. there might be a bug to the game.. i dont think it was an issue with forza emuwheel. My FH4 game have the wheel setting option. So i cant emulate the problem to troubleshoot it.. try find other people that had similar problem and ask if they have the answer..

@@PopicasaPOPStuDio Yep always! It was from vjoy config or something because by default was 8keys and i have to change to 128 and 4 directions. It start but doesn't show me the emuwheel in the forza 4. Maybe will be from the not properly binds of emuwheel config? My forza is hoodloom cracked :D
My printer encoder just gives me small vibrating inputs and cannot be detected by the game
Did that happen to forza horizon game only or any game?
Solved it. I accidentally switched the toggle switch.
Now my problem is the calibration error in the RFR Wheel Configuration
@@geraldtiangsing6419 oh usually what i did when that happen is:
1. tick on "Manual" checkbox on the RFR Wheel configuration.
2. Turn off the Z toggle switch on your arduino.
3. Turn the steering Left and Right until the RFR Wheel Configuration detect the firmware version.
4. Click on "Calibrate" button and then turn the steering either left or right until it says "Device Status: Ready".
5. Turn on the Z toggle switch.
6. Enjoy... Now you can center the wheel and use it like what you usually do..
