I for one love being included in your househunting journey around Italy. Your channel may have started out to show people what life was like in Positano, but your easy-going, down -to-earth personalities, (and those beautiful dogs and cats)have drawn everyone in and at least for me , your channel has become more about visiting with my Italian friends every Sunday.

I'm getting a bit too old to be able to see them for myself, so I travel vicariously with you both! One of the reasons I found your channel was because my husband and I were looking for a place in Italy to spend part of our life in. Both of our families came from italy 100 years ago so we both wanted to reconnect with our heritage and learn the language. Your videos have always been an inspiration of everything Italy, you both have an amazing talent for storytelling and visual affects. Whatever video you put out , I’ll watch! BTW, Myhusband and I did find a place along the coast south of Positano, it is in a beautiful small hillside commune overlooking the sea and the mountains. I can’t wait to see what you both end up finding.

I sold real estate for a few years and still love looking at homes. The Italian countryside is beautiful and it’s fun to imagine yourself living in a villa there, hosting visitors from around the world. We can all dream, which is what you and Carlo are doing. One question though: what area is closest to Positano that could fit your needs for a second property/BnB? Perhaps if it were a bit closer you may be able to achieve both!

I thought it was incredible (although looks like it needs a lot of work). Once the story came out that the owners had built it for a ‘party property’ I was SO curious to hear stories about what kind of parties went on at that property. It looked like it hadn’t been used in a long time.

I am genuinely interested in all aspects of your life journey, so I'm along for whatever ride you bring me on! Nicki, I know this B&B dream of yours has been stewing many years...but when I think about the challenges of climbing the stairs becoming an issue, I think about the stress and requirements of having paid guests needing every aspect of your attention. I can't imagine that being easy when also dealing with aging. I can absolutely see you and Carlo having a quiet cabin/love nest somewhere where you can garden, fish, hike and drive up to your door (no steps). That, to me, seems like the lead up to relaxing retirement years, not catering to strangers and all of the unknowns that come with strangers living in your private space. I know that this opinion may not mesh well with your dreams, I don't mean to impose. My husband and I will be 50 soon, and my parents are 80ish. I guess I just see the challenges of starting a business like that, when life begins to slow us down. I'm sensing it now and I'm not even retirement age yet. Whatever you and Carlo decide, I'm sure it will be the right decision for YOU. I'm just so grateful that you share your journey and experiences with us via your Vlogs. Wishing you the best, always!
I, for one, love following along on your house-hunting adventures. It’s a great way to see the beauty of Italy and see different kinds of houses and properties that we would otherwise never get to experience. My daughter is going to Italy for 11 days next month and I’ve encouraged her to explore the non-tourist parts and travel some back roads. Oh, and I told her she must eat at a gas station while she’s there lol!

I love the house hunting. It’s wonderful to see the regions as well as the building styles in Italy. In saying that it’s very hard to imagine Carlo anywhere else than Positano. He seems so integral to life there. It is his story and he would be so missed by everyone.

PLEASE do continue taking us along!!! Love seeing where you go, the glimpses into the smaller towns and new locations. AND truly enjoy the look at properties and your experience in the Italian property market. It also allows us to live and explore vicariously through your adventures. Our future early retirement plans are to live in Italy at least part of the year - so this is great exploration and great education into areas / towns we've never considered. Great potential (and work) in the 3 villa location!!

Apart from getting to see more small towns and countryside, it feels a bit like I am househunting in Italy myself (which most probably will never happen irl :). And also I love that when Carlo speaks, there are subtitles and I learn a bit of Italian that way!

I am SO glad I discovered you two! I ADORE Italy. I am an American woman married to a Dutchman wintering in Utah for skiing (where we just had 600 inches (yes 15 METERS) of snow) and the rest of the year in Minnesota for the lakes, my true home. We are privileged to go back and forth to the Netherlands 2-3 times per year to visit my 96 yr old mother-in-law, family and many friends because the kids are done with university, the hubby retired early and we are freer to go more often than just one time per year. YEAH. Like you with Italian, I learned Dutch fluently from living there for 4 years. On a side note, we lived in London for a year cuz of my husband's job "in the city" and I worked at Harrods in 89-90. Now that was FUN! I went back to Harrods in 2018 and didn't recognize the place - except for the stairwells. Two of our 3 kids chose to live in Europe; Holland and Spain, for the time being, so even more of a reason to go. I have wanted to go to Positano literally since 1994 because a girlfriend honeymooned there in the early 90's and said it was fantastic and it has been on the top of my list since ever since. She was lucky to go back for her 30th anniversary. Well, that dream came true the last week of April 2022 and she was right! Positano and the Amalfi Coast FAR exceeded my expectations. We chose the shoulder season to dodge the tourists. The Path of the Gods hike from way up top - all the way to our hotel, the Poseidon Hotel, was my favorite hike of ALL TIME, and we have hiked a lot. The path was empty and we had the AMAZING views all to ourselves with perfect weather. Walking down all those steps was simply amazing and never to be forgotten. So, you 2 help the Amalfi Coast stay alive in my heart, in my mind and in my soul. I was skiing in Cortina in early March (yet another dream of mine) and WOW those Dolomite Mountains are spectacular. Italy truly has an embarrassment of riches. Umbria and Puglia are now top on my list. If I were you, I would choose to vacation 2 weeks a year in a different region in Italy. That's 19 years of discovery (minus Campania) and amazing footage for us to devour. THANK YOU!!!

I know I've mentioned it before but I really love it when you take us along on your travels. You show us different regions of Italy/England/France and it makes me discover places that I didn't know about that I want to visit in the future. However, you DO live in a magical place already. I'm not sure I'd be able to give up the sea and those mountains. Perhaps, Positano or somewhere close would have the beautiful landscape and less steps.

How could the property with three furnished houses on 12 hectares with a pool only be 650K euros? Something isn't right? Maintenance costs and taxes on the property are probably really high? It's too large of a property for a couple who are nearing retirement age?
I love house hunting with you. Getting to see properties for sale in Italy is really interesting and the drive from place to place is beautiful. Personally, I think you should just look for a comfortable, easy maintenance property that you can enjoy now when you want to get away from Positano for a while and eventually move into when you’re older. It’s very difficult to maintain a large second property when you live so far from it. The homes in Italy are charming, but they’re old and require a lot of upkeep. Would you rather spend the majority of your time working and fixing things when you visit a second home or simply enjoy being there and spend your time relaxing and exploring nearby villages? It’s something to consider for sure. But while you’re deciding, take us along for the ride! ❤😊
It’s really fun to house hunt. We spent several years finding the right place in Northern California, knowing that when we retired, we wanted to be in a small town atmosphere with a little property to have a vegetable garden, etc. We’ve been in our new place many years now and it was the best decision we’ve ever made. So don’t get impatient and enjoy the journey. So MUCH FUN!

We love to go house hunting with you and Carlo. We are in the same stage in our life...Looking for a home that we can age in place. With little maintenance. Also, we need access to a road in case of emergencies. Be it weather or health. Right now , our health is excellent, but sometimes we can't get out because of the weather. So the one home you looked at but
didn't like, because the road was too close might not be too bad There may come a time you will need it close due to ice, snow or whatever. Plus you would want your customers if you did turn it into a BnB to have access to you as well. The roads there in that part of Italy are not like Positano. So you shouldn't get much traffic. A road with easy access can be a blessing in disguise with the wild weather we've been having. Just my humble opinion. You will find your dream house and location. The main thing is that you have found each other to share this wonderful journey together that we call life. Peace.

FREE LABOR HERE!!! I live in a small town in southwest Virginia and Italy is my dream. I have always felt connected somehow to Italy I'm not sure why, past life maybe🤔? Seeing the properties that you visit as you research is entertaining. Everything in Italia is beautiful. I would encourage including a bit more of the towns where you are staying, which might require adding time to your travel. What you may not realize is that all of Italia is magical from the perspective of one who lives in a very different country and culture.
Nicki and Carlo - honesty - I watch your videos's for you and your family. Positano is beautiful, but if you moved it would be just as wonderful to see you in another setting as where you are today. And how exciting would it be to see you in a different home for part of the year - you both have a magic touch for fixing up/decorating. Then back to Positano - even with the 500 steps, it you so desire. Italy is diverse and incredibly interesting, it would be a shame for you not to show the properties that you are interested in, some of which take my breath away! Please keep up doing what you are doing - but only if YOU enjoy it. We all do... 🙂 Cheers
I love watching you house hunt. Gives us ideas of other areas of Italy we could travel to. Please continue! If a lot of people don't want to see it, you an always put timestamps in the videos and people can forward over those parts.
We are in a similar place as you, but about 18 months ahead of you. We knew we didn't want to stay where we were when we retired, so we started the transition. We fixed up and sold our house, put the money in the bank while we shopped around for where we wanted to go next, and got temporary housing. We found the right spot, bought it, and now go back and forth between the two places while waiting for retirement to come along.
Selling the place in the UK would be a great first step for you, that way the money was ready & available for when you do have that perfect spot. It would be so disappointing to lose the property you love while waiting for the other place to be sold. Maybe that could be your next step in the journey?

Please continue in your search of an additional dwelling. We viewers get all the joy of watching and expanding our knowledge. A guest house will restrict your movement. Maybe you could find a winter house with a flat to let. Then there will be someone to keep an eye when you are in Positano. Thank you for sharing with us all!
