Hi everyone, I really hope you enjoy this new episode. I am delighted to let you know that when you spend over £45 on nicolasfairford.com you will get a complimentary Botanica art print. To clarify, once the value of your online basket on the webshop has exceeded £45, you will be able to choose one of the two prints available in the online store. When you add this to the basket, the value of the item (£15) will be deducted from the total.
Nicolas you should collab with Kevin Lee jacobs!
How long will this be for? I am on a budget also and need to wait until the 28th to do this. Love your teas!
I live in Texas and would like to get one of the prints. They are beautiful. 🎉

Hi Nicholas! I completely agree about trying different things. I'm a 56 year old wife/mother/grandmother and I STILL don't know what I want to be when I grow up 😂🤷♀ I've been a medical biller, nurse, stay home wife, and an author. My biggest dream was to dance ballet. Unfortunately, my parents never had the money to pay for lessons, so my passion is only in my dreams. My advice to younger people is this: try everything, imagine everything, don't be afraid to fail because failure is only closing a window to open another door. Life is an ADVENTURE. Every path you take should be one that is appreciated, good OR bad.
Such wonderful advice and outlook!
🥰
You're never too old to learn to dance just for the pleasure of it😊 Just because you decide something isn't for you it's not failing it's learning and growing as a person. I was naturally a good cook so studied catering I qualified but after a several false starts in industry decided it wasn't for me. I'm still passionate about food, love entertaining and I don't regret my time at college because I enjoyed the course it was great experience. All part of life's rich pattern!
@@NicolasFairford Hello Nicolas i watch your videos and honestly enjoy them But i don't understand one thing and that is how one person gay can enjoy another gay person Because the love that a girl can give you can't be given by a boy i think it also has an effect on the environment because the environment in which you live will definitely have an effect on you This is what i want to do because watch every video of your and belive that you are a sensible person This was the words of my heart, thank you verey much
Charming and relaxing. When I watch you, I feel like getting in my jammies, brewing some tea and settling into a big chair to watch you! You are an old soul.
So happy to hear that! Thank you!
Thank you Nicolas. It is refreshing to hear someone on social media talking about having to save up for things they would like- Much more relatable. Appreciate your honesty. Best wishes.
Thanks for your kind wishes
Yea well relatable…..🙄
Never boring, Nicolas, but always enjoyable. Your calming energy and wonderful insight are gifts to all who tune in.
Thank you so much! That is really kind of you to say so
Never boring. Decorating is like having a garden. You are always changing things and that is the fun of it. Love your videos.
I love that!
34??? 😮😮 i legit thought you were 24!!! If you haven't already i would love a video on your skincare regime. You look beyond fantastic and I wish you all the best!
Good morning Nicolas… interesting to hear you share your life journey with us. I am 85 and been on my own for 27 years( not a happy time before that either ! ) i learnt to appreciate and love my solitude and the peace and calm that comes with living alone. Its not always greener the other side of the fence !. Enjoy this time of your life… love from Sth Australia x
Thank you so much for your insight and warm wishes x
It’s funny as we grow and evolve and get a little older we realize we have everything we need inside us. All the creative power. It’s all inside us if only we just tap into it. And believe in ourselves. 😎
So true!
I truly believe that homes, apartments, whatever living space you're in, speaks to you. I cannot decorate my living space until I live in it for a while. There is no specific time. The home we're in now took me a month before I knew where things were going to go because I got to know the house, live in it, listen to all its sounds. etc. My husband kept asking me when I was going to decorate and when I told him I was waiting for the house to speak to me and then I would know. Of course he didn't understand this at all. But when she ( I name all my homes) did speak to me knew exactly what to do and where things should be.
I agree totally!
Nicolas, thank you for sharing your life through the homes that you lived in. I really enjoyed this episode. What a wonderful way to get to know you better and to see how your personal styles and talents evolved with each living experience. You are always so open and engaging with your audience. That is why we keep coming back for more. All the best from New York City, Robert.
Thank you, Robert! Very kind
well said.
You’re morphing Nicolas, in to a new style, taste and chapter. Looking forward to journeying with you on here. 😊
Thank you so much!
That Scotland home was gorgeous. I would miss it, as well. Sweet Sophie has been on so many adventures with you.
She has indeed! Always by my side
🇬🇧 re: David Emanual
In 1971 I went to Cardiff Art College, doing dress design and pattern cutting, sitting on the table next to me was David Emanual, who designed Princess Diana's wedding dress. Our Tutor was Miss June Tiley .
Nicolas, I absolutely enjoyed listening to your life living in different houses and how you tried your hand at how you decorated them. You truly are gifted when it comes to decorating and having such an appreciation for things you turn into beauty.
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for your kind words!
This has been the very best Sunday with you. I feel so happy you have shared your life, your interests and how you have grown. I have learned so much and your experiences have given me reason to rethink my present life. Many thanks NF. ❤
That is wonderful! Thank you!
Nicolas - I was captivated as you spoke about your journey of the places you lived- you lived in some beautiful places & how you have grown to learn to be comfortable with yourself- I love the insight you gave to those that are young & don’t know what they want to do in life - thank you for such a beautiful vlog
My pleasure! So glad you enjoyed it!
That’s very generous of you to share such personal details about your life. Thank you, it was a very interesting video
My pleasure!
Not boring at all. The opposite- very interesting to hear about your life story. You are an excellent story teller and designer. IMHO. USA.
A home is not a home until you are completely comfortable with it and are accepted by it. I can see Nicolas that this is so. As we surround ourselves with the experiences that have helped us evolve, new journeys await, and for you Nicolas, that is truly so. ❤
Thank you so much !
This was not boring at all it was fun to see your different places and how you decorated them and how it reflected what you had learned and how you felt at the time. Honestly wanted to hear more and didn't even realize it was a longer video. ❤😂
So glad to hear that!
Being with wealthy men has it's advantages!!
Nicolas loved your story. Thank you for taking us through your very personal journey. I could picture all of your homes. When you were speaking your face was so nostalgic. You are a kind sensitive person. You should be proud of where you have been in such a short time, and I’m excited for you for your life ahead. I really enjoy your channel and your honesty is refreshing. Take care
Very kind! Thank you!
Nicholas you have filled your life with interesting people and travels and obtained insights into your own creativity and skills that College would have never provided. I think you gave excellent and encouraging advice on young people starting out and contemplating educational institutions vs alternatives. Cheers to you and to your future pursuits.
There are lessons here beyond decorating that are so important.
Being on your own after being in a relationship is very hard.
I know you are in a relationship now, but you have built a good foundation for yourself.
Thank you.
Very well said!
Thank you so much
Lovely homes you have lived beautiful scenes and your experience with those homes . Nice to see Sophie in the grass or chair . Nice to see the table setting. Lovely lambs and chair. Nicolas thank you for showing me

So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing more about your life! I've lived in four different houses in the same state my whole life! I don't get around much! I did move out on my own pretty young and bought my first house at 22! I loved my independence but I still live five minutes away from my parents! 😂
Wow! This was a fantastic video Nicolas and so informative about how your life into interior design began. Such honesty and truly a pleasure to watch. Thank you!!
So glad you enjoyed it!
I lived with my husband for 4 years but he was never there, he was always on the road so I was alone, we got divoraced, I was alone for a year, then with my BF of 7 years and after that 25 years alone again . I love living alone I am sooo used to it and I actually even get upset if I hear the neighbors, I love peace and quiet❤ I am happy you are finally happy and staying, that is a sweet place you got there. Where is the little bumble bee on the print?❤
I am happy for you!
Thank you❤@@NicolasFairford
the beauty in 36:32 photo brought me tears, thank you so much for expanding beauty in the world
It’s so marvelous to learn about your past homes, creative experiences, and seeing the beautiful rooms that you shared with us. The very best is is listening to you as you sit in your chair and talk so eloquently to us. The very best of TH-cam.
That means a lot! Thank you!

This was so insightful and interesting to hear about your history of homes as well as your lifestyle. I especially enjoyed hearing about your personal growth as you transitioned from place to place. We all have such experiences and I thank you for being transparent and confident in telling about your very own experiences. I truly admire you! Love from the U.S.!
Thanks for your very kind words!
Bless your heart, it is called growing up. At 72 now, after two experiences with marriage I have finally learned to enjoy my time and my own company. I also moved a great deal both in childhood and adulthood. You have excellent taste, btw. Thank you for sharing so much of your journey Nicholas. It could NEVER be boring Dear. 😊
This was an inspired vlog, Nicolas. Thank you so much for sharing.🌟
So glad you enjoyed it!
Oh that gorgeous home with the Christmas tree and woods and plaids... that to me is a real English vibe. Love everything about that. Very RL. Sophie on that plaid draped ottoman just screams home!!!! Makes me wonder where did all those beautiful furnishings and art end up. Its so important to bloom where you are planted. Right now it's here in this apartment , with all the lovely perks. Its good to sometimes just be content. Everyone wants more, bigger, better. Just breathe, and love this special little sanctuary that you have created for you and Sophie.
Lovely advice! Thank you!
This was one of your best videos. Thank you for opening up and being real. Learning to live on your own and becoming your own person is super important. In the future you will be stronger and able to contribute so much more to a future relationship. So proud of you!!!!
Nicolas you have stayed in some lovely places.
I'm always amazed at how life comes together for everyone and for all good,if we are looking for it. We just get somehow guided. Never give up. Always choose forward for that is how life moves.😂❤🎉
This was so much fun.
Love hearing about your life before we met.
I am glad you are staying, your home is so beautiful and displays your talent so well.
Seeing Sophie in the pictures was an extra treat. Our furry friends always make a house a home, don't they.
I read the average person moves every 7 years. I lived 35 years in one place, so I guess I am not average. Then we moved to Costa Rica where I have already moved 3 times in 13 years. lol
Thank you so much for letting us peek into your life. Listening to you is such a pleasant time.
Kisses, Sophie Love.
I’ve enjoyed all of your videos but this is by far the best one. I love watching as you make decisions on your interiors and to be frank it is far more interesting to see you take time and budget for your new purchases. I look forward to many many more
Another delightful video. I enjoyed seeing and hearing about your lovely, previous homes. You are truly a gem!
One of my favorite videos! Thank you for sharing your journey.
I am very grateful that you took time to share about the places that you lived in and how those experiences developed the person You are today. Thank You.
Yay. You do you I’m here for the process.
Appreciated the openness. Love your intentionality to life. I have a modern, minimal style and find your videos calming, uplifting and inspiring.
Absolutely LOVED this! xx
This was quite an enjoyable vlog. I loved listening to you reminiscing about your earlier life and the homes you’ve shared with your previous partners and how the subsequent moves and redecorating has shaped your design preferences. On the subject of learning to live on your own after being with family or in a relationship for most of your life I understand the process for I have gone through it as well. Wishing you continued success. Take care. 👍🙏
Nicolas, I really enjoyed hearing about all the places you have lived and how you decorated them. I remember Laura Ashley well. I had a bedroom papered in the same blue and white pattern as yours and the coordinating blue and white checkered comforter. Also, I had a chair recovered in the checked fabric. I really loved it. ❤
(Laura Ashley still exists online. Check out their clearance sales) I think the reason many old homes are ruined is that the people don’t care for the past, in which case do not buy an old home. In my humble 1928 home I’m always trying to put things back to as original as I can. Your house history is unique! I love your current place! It’s the right size, I love your outdoor space, the walk ability of the town, it’s wonderful.
I enjoyed this very much, thank you. I wish more TH-camrs would realize that it’s perfectly OK for a TH-camr to pull up a chair sit down and just talk with their viewers. Without all the silly b-roll, etc. You sprinkled some photographs in here, which was a nice addition to the video. But I personally enjoy videos where the person just sits down and talks. Wonderful video, thank you! Debra.
What a delightful video. Thank you for sharing your life with us. It was so enjoyable to see how you have grown and evolved your style over the years. What a blessing to have lived in such gorgeous homes!
Hello Nicolas,
How blessed you are to have lived in so many lovely homes and still so young to have achieved this. In my lifetime I have moved home through one reason or another often sadly not by choice but necessity; changes in circumstances, jobs and so on. I can understand you getting itchy feet. But you seem really happy where you are now. In all of the houses/ flats/ apartments where I have lived none were as beautiful as those you have lived in and none ever felt like home just somewhere to rest my bones. I am now 69 and living on a pension so unlikely to achieve my dream home now; but I keep it in perspective by being thankful that while my flat is tiny I have a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in. No good being bitter about what I lost and will never have.
Nicolas, you are wonderful! I could listen to you talking all day. Moving is exhausting. I know what I'm talking about because I've moved 18 times. So I'm happy to hear you have decided to stay where you are.
Once again, riveting!
Thank you so much for sharing.
