You guys! When I was packing after the cruise to go home, I actually shipped my clothes home and packed the yarn in my suitcase. Cause like, who cares if my clothes get lost, but heaven forbid if UPS loses my yarn! 😂😂😂
I enjoyed this episode sooo much❤❤ I am a little behind, but reliving Indie Untangled, CakePalooza, and Rhinebeck was AMAZEBALLS!!! I met you both at Cakepalooza and enjoyed our quick chat. We even got a picture together that I have been meaning to post, but work and life won’t let me be great😂 I will post it 😉 I know you met and chatted with a lot of people, but I had the short hair and was wearing the purple and black Bucee’s Halloween t-shirt😉 I usually don’t approach podcasters because of the crowds around them or they just don’t seem “approachable” if you are not a “yarn world celebrity”. But both of you were so nice, cool, and down to earth. I would totally have wine, knit, and hang out with you both anytime 😉❤ 3:22:40
Thank you so, so much, dear ladies! It was the absolute best to finally get to meet you in person. ❤ And it’s not going to be the last time, thank goodness! ❤ Hugs & kisses from Finland! Jonna x
I put away my needles for two years…a long story short mental issues, picked up another craft, then just put that down and wanted to knit again…just realized this is my dopamine…and you two have always made me smile, cry and everything in between. I’m right in Maryland and so sad I missed you in Frederick and at Rhinebeck (born in Dutchess) …thank you for being here Dawn D.
Oh my gosh, I’ve never felt so seen or heard before then when you two were talking about packing. I do the same thing. You guys are one of the best channels on TH-cam! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Mary’s yarn is the BEST! I’m so lucky to live in Maryland because she was one of the first hand dyers I ever bought from. I will always sing her to the rooftops. Best bases, amazing colors. 29 Bridges is so good!
Thank you , Thank you, Thank you for talking about menopause - yes...hair loss, bad eyesight, chin hairs, and dry vaginas! We need to talk about this MORE!!
Packing is morally neutral!!! You get to decide how much you need and as long as you can tote it, pay the surcharge, and afford the extra suitcase--you're golden!
I love, love, love you guys!! I never comment because I typically watch you on my TV, but today I'm on my computer. I do talk to you & laugh with you while I'm watching. Maybe you can hear me from Minnesota! :) I do always like the video.
It was so wonderful to meet you both at Indie Untangled (and then unintentionally stalk you for the rest of the weekend). Thank you for being so kind and generous with your time. 💖 -Sara
I managed to buy my kit from Thread and Maple in the end. Everything was fabulous,. Bag, yarn, pins and Tracie's pattern for socks 😊 you don’t need to go to Turkey Jodie. You're fabulous. You both are. ❤
Hi ladies, thank you for your company today whilst knitting Stephen’s MKAL shawl. Your yarn is awesome Jodie, take care and have a fabulous weekend ❤❤❤
What a fantastic episode!! I loved hearing all about your trip to the East Coast and Rhinebeck. Being a CA girl, I don't know if I will ever make it there, so it is so fun to follow along with everyone vicariously. However, I do understand your complaint about the stress of wanting to knit everything. I have yarn for at least 20 sweaters waiting for me to make them!!
I missed your live today but have watched it all at once-it’s 2:00 am Friday morning!! It was so very special meeting you both at Magpie and taking the class on the Sunday morning. I loved taking everyone’s photos with you and I treasure my photos with you! I would love to go with you on a trip! ❤ You had a great trip for sure. I hope to see you again! Love you both! Angela Gill
A young lady came to Toronto for 2 weeks this summer and all she brought was a backpack, and it wasn’t even full when I dropped her at the airport 🥰 you two are super cute
Yarn Farm in Kinston NY was one of the shops I visited on my personal yarn crawl from Toronto across the St. Lawrence river at Alexandria Bay, across NY state to the Hudson River and then down through Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia to home in North Carolina. 12 shops along the way. At Yarn Farm I got some natural, undyed sport weight NY State Corriedale. Lovely and soft. I went to Rhinebeck but no festival at that time.
Omgee……I’m literally wetting myself laughing with you ladies talking about menopause, pubes getting transplanted on your head 😂🤣😂 I’m ticking all the boxes too. Love the recap of Rhineback, as an Australian 🇦🇺 i love listening about it and seeing the stunning yarn
Part of the reason I watch you religiously is bc of the menopause talk. It makes me feel seen! Jody, I’m also losing hair and I’ve started following wig people on IG. Plus the hot flashes, weight gain (where the f did my waist go?), chin hairs, etc. I went to my first Rhinebeck weekend/ trip to NY this tear and loved it. We stayed in Woodstock, which was shockingly beautiful. Didn’t realize it was a mountain town!
It was so amazing to see you two at Rhinebeck--you're so nice, as you are here of course! I never introduced myself but took photos (you with Caitlin and Emma from The Woolly Thistle--I am not affiliated with them except shopping from them and chatting at the festival, etc 😂. Just sayin'.). What an amazing trip and yes yes those colors, and the decorations along the roadsides and farms, and people. Pure magic.
Just watching this on 10/29 --- Rhinebeck weekend in the Northeast was the best weather. I did not attend but you guys coming to Northeast this time of year is the best.. We have had a very warm Fall so far. I live in Syracuse NY and for Halloween this year expecting to be 80 degrees F, What!!! yup 80 --Glad you loved our Northeast, you should look at Central New York for a road trip. Love your podcasts
We went to NY for a week. I anticipated souvenirs and yarn purchases. I packed a duffel that rolls up to the size of an earbud case and an extra carryon bag that folded flat so we would have extra bags for these goodies. We packed 2 pairs of pants, 4-5 shirts, a few hats, plus unmentionables for the week. We wore our hoodies onto the train. Traveling home we combined anything clean into one suitcase, dirty clothes into one, and then had a whole suitcase for purchases. Also utilizing vacuum seal/ ziploc bags rolled tight saves room.
I’m so interested in all mohair scarves. Jody, I knit the Essence sweater By Joji in with your kit in your hand dyed mohair. It is the best. So light and warm. Love you guys
You gals are terrific! I just missed you in Frederick at Magpie fibers- you had just stepped out for lunch! I live in Jefferson, MD and so fortunate to have this lovely shop nearby! I also saw you on the hill at Rhinebeck but the line to see you was wayyy long ( for good reason!), and we had to get going. Your podcast is filling all the gaps for things I missed! I hope to see you next year!❤❤
When I pack for a trip, I pack as if I will be walking and carrying what I pack. I also pack planning to hand-wash all underwear in a sink. My raincoat packs into one of its pockets and has a clip for hanging from handbag or backpack. For 2 weeks in Scotland, I took 3 pairs of undies, 1 bra, raincoat. I wore a backpack for camera, maps, field guide, journal, 1 small knitting project. My medium rolling luggage was half full with 2 pairs of pants, 1 pair of waterproof hiking boots sneaker style, a book, and folder of genealogy notes. The rollerbag fit in overhead luggage bin, the backpack under the seat. No purse. Just an around the neck document wallet. Toiletries were all just basics and sample size. Didn't wear makeup then, but my 3 BOOM Sticks would have fit in. Worked like a charm! Had a blast!
I had to stop watching because I was laughing so hard I was crying. We are in Europe for a month and we were the only people on our 28 person tour with big luggage. Everyone else had carryon roller bags! How is that possible?!I packed and unpacked my toiletries 5 times eliminating items and then starting pulling clothes out. And I wasn’t even planning on buying anything and then I did!
Jodi, I have a suggestion for all those single skeins…the Paul Klee Sweater by Midori Hirose. Supplements for hair loss that my sister and I have had great results with: Biosil collagen generator with ch-OSA. Not cheap but it works!
I finally made it to Rhinebeck this year (from Norway). I was at the alpaca parade! How did I miss the both of you???? I guess I was just overwhelmed with everything. I had a great time and will definitely go back again. Luckily I took an extra empty suitcase with me, needless to say, it came back full of Rhinebeck purchases.
Happy Birthday, Sarah!🎉🎈🎵🎁🎂🍨 My birthday is also in November....the 20th. I feel the same way, I'd much rather celebrate my children's and grandchildren birthdays than my own. I hope your K2P2 festival is a great success! Will look forward to watching any videos from it! Could we see the bracelets you made for the festival? ❤
OMG! I traveled 6 days in 5 hotels with a roll-aboard and a backpack…to Rhinebeck! What was I thinking. You should have seen what I brought home. I thought my bags were going to bust open. I like the idea of bringing an empty bag next year!!
Love you Gals I, loved the packing segment I Laughed so hard I'm WITH YOU 100% I always pack a lot cuz you never know what you might need , I even pack extra in my carry on cuz they lost my luggage one time and I didn't have anything to wear for 3 days till they found it .✈👜🛍🎒👠♥🤣😂😘
Carol from Lampton county....you gals kill me 70 poinds...I went to Ireland in September I took medium suit case and came home with 49 and a half pound case.....after I bought my new sweater and hat plus yarns 😂...and books ...wanted to buy lots more ...had a full wardrobe too😂I can never change.. I have downsized because I can't carry the large size any more
Tracie - Is that your stash behind you? Someday I’d love to see a tour! I would have loved to meet you at Rhinebeck but I wasn’t in the right place at the right time. Maybe next year… Also, drop me a line next time you’re in NJ. We have some lovely yarn shops here and loads of local dyers.
You need the ziploc vacuum bags to suck all the air out of those sweaters I only air bnb for long trips with a laundry and vacuum So you can wash bottoms
Jodi, you are correct on all the aging stuff! lol. I’m trying a hair supplement by OMI (I think it’s helping but I’m afraid to stop taking it. Just in case this is what helping looks like). LOL
Heh jodie i was wondering where the pube hairtransplant girl had gone. You are friggen hilarious. And poor tracie i cant even with her reaction. Keep us laughing girls. Xxoo
Please don’t go to Turkey and get your hair or teeth done! There are some horrific horror stories. Get it done in Canada or the USA paying more can save your life. Sorry if this is a serious comment for a joke but seriously it’s terrifying
Hi Jodi and Tracie, consider packing military style with just a carry-on-you won’t regret it! There are also some great TH-cam podcasters who offer tips on how to do it.
Could you please share the name of the scarf/shawl you are wearing. I wasn’t able to understand during the video and the transcript wasn’t any help. Thanks.
I was wondering what happened to your punch needle art piece, and the “I can’t even” cross stitch. It threw me for a bit. I must have looked away when Jodi flung her shawl just right to twist them out of view. LOL, at the 1:47:40 mark.

Jodi, NEVER apologize for showing yarn color combinations! 😬 It’s one of my favorite parts of the podcast. Love, love, love it.
First video I’ve watched of y’alls. Hours later I’m still here and y’all are so much fun.
I was so stinking thrilled to meet you with my Mrs Browns Bag at Rhinebeck !!!! Thanks for the pic with me …. You two are a hoot !!! #sistergoals
I’m literally outside at my fire pit CRACKING UP at the Turkey pube hair implants part of the conversation, my neighbors have to think I’m insane 🤣🤣🤣
Wow Jodie- you are so talented and creative. I love your colors and pairings!

I managed to buy my kit from Thread and Maple in the end. Everything was fabulous,. Bag, yarn, pins and Tracie's pattern for socks 😊 you don’t need to go to Turkey Jodie. You're fabulous. You both are. ❤
I do carry on and check it! The smaller bag is so important if you are in Europe and getting on & off trains or climbing stairs with your bag!
Hi ladies, thank you for your company today whilst knitting Stephen’s MKAL shawl. Your yarn is awesome Jodie, take care and have a fabulous weekend ❤❤❤
Thank you for the Ravelry tip! Your energy level and enthusiasm is awesome. I have learned how to pack better after hauling heavy luggage around.

Thanks for that Ravelry tip! Now I won't have to search for the new pattern designs from my fav designers.

A favorite shawl over a light wool sweater is perfect for right now in the PNW!🥰❤️🧶

We’ve had snow in Banff and Canmore. There’s still some on the ground

I was in your second sock class in Frederick. Now I'm hooked on DK weight socks! Thanks. :)
Trick to packing light...Merino wool T shirts and socks. Can be worn multiple times. Plus quick dry pants and travel dress. They are light weight.
Come on girls, I am on a quite bit of public transport and I am shrieking with laughter 🎉
🌴☀️MY FAV PODCAST EVERRRRRRR☀️🌴
I love Going Gnome. Adorable! I loved seeing all your goodies. My dream is to go to Rhinebeck someday. I need a yarny buddy to go with me.

So good! LMAO about the pubes transplant! Love all the inspiration!

How did I not know there’s a Jones Road store in NJ? Not far from where I go to visit family. Next time road trip!
Happy Birthday, Sarah!🎉🎈🎵🎁🎂🍨

I hope your K2P2 festival is a great success! Will look forward to watching any videos from it!
Could we see the bracelets you made for the festival?
❤
Bronner’s is the name of the giant Christmas store in Frankenmuth, Michigan. I JUST bought one of their ornaments online. Gorgeous.
No-BRONNER’S. Auto correct madness…..
OMG! I traveled 6 days in 5 hotels with a roll-aboard and a backpack…to Rhinebeck! What was I thinking. You should have seen what I brought home. I thought my bags were going to bust open. I like the idea of bringing an empty bag next year!!
You both were so sweet. Thank you so much for all you do…. Ok packing girls just bring the cashmere it weighs nothing and smooshes to nothing.
I saw you two in great falls Montana 2 years ago at Target-you we’re buying suitcases… too funny!
I will see you on Bainbridge. I also have trouble packing. Every time I say I will pack light. It never works.
Love you Gals I,
loved the packing segment I Laughed so hard I'm WITH YOU 100% I always pack a lot cuz you never know
what you might need , I even pack extra in my carry on cuz they lost my luggage one time and I didn't have anything to wear for 3 days till they found it .✈👜🛍🎒👠♥🤣😂😘
I absolutely love y’all.
Love your yarn stash. I will have to make that shawl
I have downsized because I can't carry the large size any more
Team carry on! Bc I don’t like to wait for luggage at the carousel. Always choose a seat in front of the plane. Always space.
Did anyone else notice that every picture of Vincent caught him smiling or laughing? He must be wonderful to hang around!
Same Shala!
You need the ziploc vacuum bags to suck all the air out of those sweaters
I only air bnb for long trips with a laundry and vacuum
So you can wash bottoms
Jodi, you are correct on all the aging stuff! lol. I’m trying a hair supplement by OMI (I think it’s helping but I’m afraid to stop taking it. Just in case this is what helping looks like). LOL

That sock yarn is stunning
You were in SCARNTON PA!!!! That’s where I’m from!!!! Did you eat at Coopers?!?!??
“Bend with your knees” 😂😂😂
Please don’t go to Turkey and get your hair or teeth done! There are some horrific horror stories. Get it done in Canada or the USA paying more can save your life. Sorry if this is a serious comment for a joke but seriously it’s terrifying

Aussie Aussie Oi Oi 😂 xox
I went to Yarn Farm last week too! Wish our paths had crossed.
Check out AWAY luggage. It’s expandable. You can do it! With a carry on!!!😅🥳😍
You guys are funny. I pack too much too! Last time I had to pay double
I’ve been to North Bay Fiber and knitted with Jill’s yarn and it is amazing and so is she. Fellow Michigan native!
“Back to the real world” says Tracie. Noooooooo, it’s a trap. Don’t do it! 😂
I am a new subscriber, love this! How do I catch your podcast live?
🥰
I’m post menopausal and I’m still having symptoms . The doctor says well you shouldn’t have them. My doctor fought me on adding hormones.
Great time ladies !
Have you tried B12, I have been loosing hair for yrs and then my aunt suggested B12, it’s been a month and I see a drastic change
Nioxin shampoo is great for hair loss
Could you please share the name of the scarf/shawl you are wearing. I wasn’t able to understand during the video and the transcript wasn’t any help. Thanks.
I was wondering what happened to your punch needle art piece, and the “I can’t even” cross stitch. It threw me for a bit. I must have looked away when Jodi flung her shawl just right to twist them out of view. LOL, at the 1:47:40 mark.
You two do make me laugh. 3 pairs of slacks, 3 tops = o days of different outfits!
I think tiny people have an easier time packing in a carry on. As a plus size lady, my clothes take up extra space
I love a dirty sock yarn!
GOOD MORNING FROM CHICAGO (SOUTHSIDE) ABOUT YOUR LUGGAGE AND PACKING ISSUES: try packing items that you (1) don't wear often and/or (2) you wanted to donate or get rid off. We all have older leggings or jeans we just don't wear. Wear them and toss them or create a small pile and when you leave put them in a hotel laundry bag with a note "DONATE". You come home with less. You have done a small deed. No one has to know. You can do with bras and panties - if it is old wear them and throw them away. What you realize is that no one except you knows that it's old or that it doesn't fit. You meet people all throughout and who will know unless you tell them. It's what we do when we travel. My co-worker told me and I do that same thing. Less is more and if you can bring more #yarngroceries home WIN WIN. BE WELL AND SAFE.
My husband and I are carrying on people. We went to Costa Rica for 15 days and we were in 4 different climates. I studied TH-cam videos for a week learning how to pack.
We will check luggage if we don’t have to change planes. We are the unfortunate people who it never fails luggage is “misplaced”.
Is this Kingston Ontario or US?
Who made the mug?
What design is Jodi wearing in this podcast?
Biotin shampoo for your hair loss❤
Not enough hours in the day and not enough cash in the pocket lol I would want to spend thousands and stable.
