I was on drum staff BK95-97 and I can tell you firsthand, those dudes had hands for days AND they fought for quality in every note. By today's standards, maybe they played a little "hard," but the results were amazing. I was very, very lucky to be able to watch that every day. Ralph's books always speak for themselves.

I was supposed to be in the BK 95 pit (made it all the way to April camp) but the money didn’t work out and I had to bail. Went back in 96 and aged out in 98. Then I got to teach the BK 2k pit for finals tour. Those years shaped me musically in ways that I’m still realizing like 20+ years later. And Dean, I remember you well. Fantastic bass tech! Ralph is still legendary! Ok, I’ll shut up now.
